I listened to the words of this song so many times when I was single christian girl, and seeking God's will in my life. Twenty years later, I passed this song along to my daughter as I observed her searching for God's will. It is a timeless piece and I am grateful for artists such as Michael W. Smith who help us find ways to talk to God.

Michael......you once corrected me in a concert when my friend and I shouted we love you Michael. You said it's not about me it's about God. I never forgot. And this was one of my favourite always helped me pull back my focus to our Father. Thank you for standing strong. And while it's about God, I still maintain that I love you because you are my brother. Whether I meet you this side or on the other side, know that I am am eternally grateful to God for you. Keep up the good work and run your race with joy!
I had a similar experience. When I saw him live it was so cool to see MICHAEL. But halfway through he sang "The Heart of Worship" and it pulled me back to Christ.
I really like these 2 comments here. My memory from a concert is he prayed a blessing over everyone at end of music. My absolute favorite part as I was going through a real dark time in my life. All praise and glory to God the Father of all. He wrote a book called "A simple blessing" years later. Mom owns a copy.
It's the truth. I distinctly remember the lines in a song that said 'You're the star of the show that we came to see', ever since, I can't go to any megachurch.

We must let the all men know and see that we are like the moon that will only remain dark and gloomy without the light of the sun. The sun makes all that the moon bears visible, it gives the moon credence and meaning. The Lord Jesus Christ is that Sun, and when you get married as a woman, your husband is a representation of the sun in your life, you will submit to him as unto the Lord(the Spiritual Sun) to perfom your role as wife even as Sripture instructs. Once a man understands his role as the sun, he'll allow his wife reflect his light and they'll both be happy.
What we as humans are to the Lord is what a woman is to her husband. Notice, i didn't say that it is what a woman is to a man but a wife to her own husband.
In life as humans, whether male or female, we are yhesame to the LORD, but in the context of marriage, a woman is to submit to her own husband.
See Eph 5:22-33
Once we understand this as christians, every home will be a safe haven and an influence to the world at large.

Can I just say that this is so, so beautiful and moving... I don't really have words. Myself and my daughter absolutely love your music and she grew up listening to Michael W Smith on the radio when I was a young mom in the 90's. She's 23 now and Place In This World is one of her all time favorites from Michael. It gives both of us goosebumps to listen to it and I'm many ways is the epitome of hopefulness, beauty, & all things good. So Joel & Luke when I saw you were doing a cover of this song, my heart just leapt. Finally listened to it straight through tonight, and it is INCREDIBLE! Your voices complement it beautifully & mesh with Michael's so well. I cannot get over how much I love this song. What a blessing y'all have given to us! It's so awesome how this feels like it touches generations of family. And gosh we as a family have had a really hard time of it lately. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this song is more than just beautifully redone; it has been crafted by you all into something bigger that just sound...it's truly transformative and touches my heart in the deepest way! Thank you! We saw Michael in concert around 2014 in Virginia on his Sovereign tour, and we have been trying to make it to see y'all. I know there is a For King and Country concert in our future and I am so there for it! Cannot wait to see the movie too.
