After researching both I went with the Beam 2 and LOVE the performance! No effect on internet connection, and even without the Sub, the Beam 2 has plenty of bass for medium sized rooms, even without adjusting the equalizer settings in the app! The Sonos uses software to give the immersive sound experience, so the Atmos difference is minimal compared to having a full home theater set up. Lacking Bluetooth is no deal breaker as you can quickly stream music to the Beam from you phone using Airplay. Not mentioned is that the beam has a setting so you can hear vocals such as watching a movie at night without interrupting others and not having to bring the volume down on the soundbar.
I just purchased the Bose 300 directly from Bose….refurbished….(it’s brand new) for $329. I have several other Bose products and love their great sound and simplicity. And I got a remote with my Bose. I’m pairing this with my new Samsung 43” TV
Sonos please offer a subwoofer mini (black or white option) $299-$399. 150w-300 watts would be cool. Also add ios options to android. The majority of phones people own on planet earth are android based from the cheapest of the cheap to premium. Even a low end mic would help the soundbar find the location it just needs the software to do so.
Went with the Sonos beam gen 2 after failing to be impressed by what £899 buys you in the form of the Arc. Added 2 sonos one rears which still came in cheaper than the standalone Arc. For me it’s perfect 👍🏻
@@smarthomesounds sounds even better with the sub added. Although it does add a significant cost to the overall system, however if you can afford it I think it’s definitely worth the outlay.
I bought the beam 2 about a month ago. Added the Symfonisk rear speakers and I’m very happy with the experience paired with my A80J. Coming from tv speakers only, this is a fantastic upgrade.
Good video. The thing that I noticed between the two are, Bose 300 sounds crisper and the Sonos definitely has more bass. Both sounds good though. Did you turn up the bass on the 300 using the App?
I did the Beam Gen 1 and 2 Symfonisk bookshelf speakers for surrounds in the Master bedroom LG OLED 55" C9. Excellent combination. Added another Beam Gen 1, Gen 3 sub, and 2 Symfonisk bookshelf speakers to Office/den for outstanding sound for the LG 55" OLED C1.
I come from the old wired up Bose home theatre set up but times have changed. Just happened to pick up a Sonos Beam G2 while picking up a new TV at Costco. This is all I need for the TV room, no sub, no extra mini speaker. Love it. Serves the purpose of enhancing sound.
I’ve had the Sonos beam for two years and just invested in the base. I already had two of the smaller speakers which I’ve used for surround sound. I do think they are pretty big so wish Sonos did smaller specific ones which I will buy in the future.
Have a look at the Ikea picture frame speakers. There thinner, although overall bigger so might not fit your needs. I have these and find them great for rear surrounds
I have both of these, Beam 2 in my bedroom and Bose 300 in my dining room. I can say that Beam 2 sounds a lot better but Bose comes with the remote and bluetooth connectivity.
I will say between the two of them the Alexa is better integrated with Bose than it is with Sonos you don’t get notifications on the Sonos but you do on the Bose. Why don’t the reviewer’s mention that? Great review, clear and well done. 👍🏻
Whole heartedly disagree. I have just switched from Bose to Sonos. The Bose had nothing but issues with any integration. Alexa worked 15% of the time and I had to factory reset the Bose each time it stopped.
What happens if my cable box comes with a bluettoth remote ( which also controls my TV volume though the cable box )? Sonos Gen 2 can not handle the volume but can the Bluetooth Bose take my volume control from my Bluetooth cable remote? Thank you!
I know this isn’t relevant to this video , but why don’t Sonos make a sub that connects to the Sonos move ? I have two when paired are excellent , just short of a sub 🧐
I have the 300 soundbar since 1 year and its nice for small or Medium sized rooms, its definitly a Good choice. But next week i am upgrading to the beam 2 and i hope this Upgrade is it worth
Bose TV speaker is meant mostly for dialogue enhancement on TV’s with poor audio (Vizio) but also has the option to add the (500 or 700) bass modules. I got mine on eBay sold as new (I’m going to assume it was refurbished) for $178/shipped. It’s dialogue mode is unmatched for that price and serves it’s purpose as a cheapish soundbar with ARC/Bluetooth capability. Moreover, I always have the option to add a bass module. I don’t think getting the 300 is worth it IMO for the price difference and would probably just get the 700 or 900 if I decided to make a serious jump. It’s a perfect bedroom setup and that’s how I’m using it because my new Vizio V-Series has probably the worst sound I’ve heard out of any TV
funny how he thinks it's more important to include a HDMI cable which you mostly like already have and can pick up from shops but not including a remote control is acceptable.
Not having a remote for Sonos doesn't bother me. The wife and I have two iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPad Pro 11, and two old iPhone 6S+. We really have 5 remotes to control the Sonos system (Arc, two beams, and two Roams). It would be a nice upgrade if Sonos included a Trueplay handheld device with a mic you could purchase for Android user.
I have a problem with my Vizio soundbar. I use it with a Sony tv and Windows 11, and it periodically switches from the soundbar to the tv speaker. Can anyone tell me if the problem is the soundbar, the tv, or Windows? Should I buy a replacement soundbar? The soundbar is hooked up to eARC
make a wish here hope sonos can hear. Why not a cheaper speaker pack? a 4-pack Roam size satellite speakers, without batterie and voice control, 2 for rear and 2 for upfiring. come with the sub mini for $999. at under 1500, u can get a real fighter.
Hope you did, you won’t regret it. I’m in the process of switching out all my Bose home Audio for Sonos. Picked up 8 Sonos products over the last week…they are unreal and many levels above Bose. The Bose home audio products are JUNK. Had nothing but issue after issue and their app is unstable. Sonos just does it better. 👍🏻
The sonos looks plastic and cheap. Love the smoked glass top and metal of the Bose soundbar and subwoofer.with the rears I rarely run it above 50 % power

the true fight gonna be an upgrade bose 300 atmos vs beam gen 2 pair a sub mini, which gives real home cinema exp around 1000 dollars, I guess the sub mini and atmos bose 300 will all come this year . the most advantage for bose now is the bose 300 and its bass 500 model combo you can find in Costco Canada at 960. Without sub, Beam gen 2 can not win even its bass are already improved a lot from gen 1. I use 15% discount at black friday to buy a Sub gen 3, and works fantastic. I feel I am watching a different movie. but i still dont like the price. for compitation, the sony HT-Z9F and the new HT-A5000 are good and less expensive. but for my persional feel, sony are good for movie, and gives u feel and surround, but less good on TV shows and dialog. Bose, i have had only 2 speakers dead by themself ,all bose product. even an $99 bookshelf can last 10 years, only 2 years for a sound touch 300. careful with your money.
