She is resting her voice to access lost registers again. It was damaged after her stint. It’s been five years though and that should be enough rest. If she did classic covers though, then it wouldn’t be rest enough. Working like crazy in the mean time keeps you off the smoking and drugs and other things that damage your voice. The album will come when not only it is ready, but she is ready as well, to perform it on tour.
