It’s cos your not meant to only use that product by itself that’s why it turned out so dry. That product is put on after your usually curly products to define it and keep it curly
I am heavy handed and didn't get flakes. I apply it when my hair is WET and I layer my products instead of mixing. It could be because I'm high porosity though?
I had the same problem with this product. You have to put on leave in conditioner first. Put a good amount then put some of the product but you don't need too much, a little goes a long way.🙂
I've used this recently, and I don't have curly hair my hair is 4b and 4c and it looked so good when I applied it!!! When it dried, omg,....it had flakes and it was a bit crunchy. I don't think I'll use it again

personally i don't like the custard because it gave me SO MANY FLAKES and when i would walk down the street friends would ask me whats the white stuff in my hair. And it made my hair feel so hard and crunchy and it made my hair look thin.

This product is good but it leaves your hair feeling really stiff. There’s a strong gel cast. I suggest using Shea moisture products with eco style gel or you can look at my other product review videos for other suggestions ❤️

I used both and it’s flakes everywhere so I don’t recommend combining the two, but I will say the curl activator and the Cantu gel doesn’t flake.

The crunchiness is known as gel cast.. You need to Scrunch the crunch out and cast will break revealing your soft beautiful curls : )
