Thanks for making and sharing this video. What a joy to behold! I’m putting together a HD 3rail layout to exhibit at or Club exhibition (if it can go ahead in July?!) to mark the 100 yrs of Hornby Train production. The working 3 rail layout will be backed up with a static display of Hornby c/work 0 Gauge. Like you, I’ve been happily surprised at the range and good quality of HD track, stock, accessories and loco available. Keep Well and Stay SAFE. Just enjoy running your trains - such good therapy just now and over the last 74 years! 🚂 T
Oh Peter, you've brought back so many memories with this wonderful selection of models. This is how so many of us started out in the hobby. Simpler times but so much fun. Keep safe in these troubled times
Thanks Austin, finally got around to building such a layout after so many years, certainly a change from the more 'traditional' exhibition layouts I have built. I'm amazed how much Hornby Dublo is still available out there which has helped to keep me occupied until I can get out to photo/video the real thing again. Let's hope for better times ahead, until then you and yours keep safe too.
What a lovely video, nice layout and a lot of care has been taken to bring it all to life! Bringing back memories and feelings of nostalgia for me. Particularly like the camera shot at 3:23 through the station of the trains running by!
Well done Peter, certainly a lot of fun in these dark times and you have a really decent set of rolling stock and accessories - 1950s' to early 1960s'.
You've got it all running very smoothly and the rolling stock looks in good condition. I think perhaps you could put one of the lines on a viaduct and have the lower line go through a tunnel underneath to make it more interesting. Thanks for uploading.
Hi can you help please just got given a Dublo train set what is the best fit to fit the track and does it need extra power on each rail like the 00 gauge. Many thanks
Hi, just like two rail 00 gauge Hornby 3 Rail needs two wire connections. One feed goes to the centre rail and the other to the outer rails. You will probably need at least 2 metres x 1.5 metres to fit the track, more would be better.
Hi Peter I think I know the answer to this question here goes any way. Is it possible for you to give me a list of track required for this layout. please try to help a 75 year old thank you
I don't understand it. It goes around a track then what, it goes around again. I have loads of 3 rail locos and carriages tankers unboxed including city of liverpool if anyone is interested. They were my fathers if someone can get enjoyment from them its fantastic but I will probably never understand trains since being a adult. Perhaps I am just no fun anymore lol. I live in swansea.
Ha ha love this comment as it sums life up you wake up in the morning then go to sleep at night then eventually you die. It’s what you do in-between that counts and if watching trains go round floats your boat and gets you out of bed then who are we to question why!!!
Good to see a neat and tidy Dublo layout looking A1 and running as it would have done back in the 50s and 60s. 😊

Thanks for your comments David, it's surprising how therapeutic watching the trains whizz around is.
