Hm so many US aircraft seem to be missing those AIM-9D's an those aircraft that tested/fielded them should totally get said missile to boost the weaponry of those aircraft (the F-104A tested them and funnily even a colour scheme for that specific aircraft is in game heh).
A. It looks like you can use 2 different cannon sets, so using ammo isnt really a problem. B. The wing ripping thing really doesn't look consistent with the turn... Might still be a bug. Im a collector, I will probably keep this, mainly cause I don't want to grind MORE than the 8 tasks.
Event vehicles should have a silver or bronze card and atleast get a premium SL booster (no RP booster) and reduced repair costs. its kinda bullshit that "event" vehicles are nothing more than Tech Tree vehicles with a time gate.

idk, a mig 27/23, J8B, J7E and many more top tier jets wouldn't break, even 9.0 to 10.3 jets wouldn't break, this plane has an extensive issue with wing rips
@@KaijuNumberEight Not all planes are built the same way. Some planes can withstand high g while others can’t. That shouldn’t change BR because that’s just how the plane works. Though I do think for the Skyray they should keep it the same. As for war thunder being realistic it just isn’t true as the MiG-21 could only pull around 8.5g’s. The F-16 can pull 9 g’s.

Seems gaijin forget to multiply 1.5 to the g limit, some online source state Skyray has g limit of 7G, it means in war thunder mete it translates to 11G. Same for Skyhawk, it has g limit of +8/-3 g, in game it should have 12/5 g but gaijin forget to multiply it by 1.5. The developers become so funny some times.
Did you have the boosters modification on? Also you can split the gun, firing 2 of the cannons at a time instead of firing 4 at a time. Much like the F2 saber can.
I have the F4D-1, Harrier GR.1 & MIG-21S and honestly the F4D has a lot of great things going for it, namely amazing low speed acceleration and climb speed, plus sexy cannons. It also handles really amazingly, but as mentionned the flight model is problematic since you can literally get wing rip by doing realllly basic maneuvers. Its not as fast as the mig or as heavily armed as the harrier, that being said it really excells as a high altitude, high maneuverability fighter plane. And for 15$ on the market I really think it was worth it. Only issues are the wing rip as mentionned and also the repair cost which is lame. Dont grind this plane, itll take forever just buy it on the market if you want a wicked AB or okay RB plane
Also this is literally my favorite aircraft in the entire game, and I can't even play it because of the absurd repair cost. It is unjustified. There is literally NO REASON for it to cost 20,000 SL to repair.

I have never ripped my wings. You know why? Because I manage my frikkin SPEED! I have also mastered just using the mouse aim to maneuver. I don't use WASD because when you press the key it pulls FULL STICK. That's the main reason you rip wings.

I've noticed War Thunder's flying-wing designs are horribly unstable when it comes to wing rips. The Javelin suffered, and still suffers today, from awful rip rates. I am able to fly a straight line in it, no moving, and rip the wings. From level flight. Its atrocious.
Is it modeled correctly, like is it a realistic tear (even if it is should be fixed) but I’m curious. Also the A-4Es suck and I am scared of pulling off bombs targets/dogfighting cuz only weird G turn will kill you.
the Me 163 is kinda like this plane, but to the extremes. it can turn on a dime and the guns hit like a dumpster, but velocity sucks, higher BR than necessary, and your wings RIP SOOOOO EASY. also that annoying take off glitch.
A quick tid bit on the aircraft from the official navy manual for the F4D-1, according to the manual once you lose your engine for whatever reason you should expect the plane to become a brick. In theory it should get worse. A lot of guides on wing-rip-prone jets such as the F8U-2 will tell you to unequip the "new hydraulic boosters" module because the increased control surface authority means you're more easily able to hit the limits of your plane by pulling hard turns at higher speeds. So even if you spade the plane, you might want to leave that module unequipped.
In your opinion the wing problem is it as bad as with the G91 or is It worse? Anyway subscribed. I Need someone that makes honest review about vehicles.
Hopefully when gaijin gets compalnits about the F4D i bet they will patch it with the lions set higher they have a bad habit of highering the lions cost for repairs on said glitched or bugged Aircraft ship tank whatever
first problem 9.3 flares are a must you will fight 10.3 as max so you will see all the harriers, F5's, F4's, F8's, A10's, and A5C's al of which require flares apart from the cancerous A10's flares don't do anything to AIM-9L's, second problem for what you are going to be fighting all the time that repair cost does not work it needs to be lower, third issue is the fuel too high of a consumption this factor only depends on its max fuel load. Lastly the wing rip will probably get tweaked later on.

@@hades1890 majority of the jets you'll fight have rear aspect missiles, you'll be able to out turn em as well and if you stick to flying low altitude while up tiered to close the distances I don't see a lot of an issues. Just takes a little bit of thinking.

The F4D seems to have Canberra B wings in that aircraft rips it's wings off in tight turns above 500k's. Still I'll be getting this soon as it's definitely a unique aircraft, probably gonna take mixed loads for mighty mouse rockets are the bomb (also for bootleg flares) Anywho I clearly have a problem for typing/saying still but damn tankenstein can we get a thus far count for the video hah hah.
Dude this is so frustrating! If you know the wings break so easily,why are you still doing extreme g maneuvers and moving your mouse everywhere like crazy, and then you say this is "unbelievable"? To sum up Scimitar is a much better aircraft. Same 100m/s climb rate, same acceleration, more ammo, actually has great use in GRB and SQB with bullpups. Sure you sacrifice your rudder, but that thing sits at 8.7 and doesn't rip :D Also, if you truly didn't see anything like that in terms of structural integrity, try the Sea Meteor. The legend of a plane has godlike performance, it's called "Sea Jesus" for a reason, but you really have to master the thing because it is severely limited by 8g destructive overload and 815km/h Vne. For real, your own structure will kill you much more often than the enemies in this game :D

It's quite tough ripping at only 9Gs, especially at 9.0*. Most fighters will handidly pull 10Gs, some even more and will rip at 11-13Gs. Quite similar to the meteors, except you're going much faster now (so it's easier to pull lots of Gs accidentally). * 9.3, so it's even worse in that regard. High speed performance of this thing is quite lackluster.

This plane is DOA playing against mig-21s. I do wonder how much they pay CCs for their reviews of event vehicles so the little piggies can buy their way to top tier so they don't get FOMO of event vehicles. Another event vehicle that has an incomplete model at too high of a br, again
While I agree the wing rip is a bit inconsistent, the way he flies around like an actual bot relying so heavily on mouse control is not helping at all. I'm pretty sure if he flew out the Me163 or Sabres he'd have the same issues. On second thought he'd probably just go headon with everyone in the match, call 2 kills decent, and then excuse it as he's giving "real gameplay."

A trick you can use to save ammo is to select only 2 of the cannons by selecting primary weapons
too many people DO NOT do this at all and it's sad
Early on I split controls for small caliber weapons and cannons. Left ctrl is cannons so in this aircraft you just use two guns at a time.

It's not an issue with the plane, it's an issue with the Pilot. I have never ONCE ripped my wings in this aircraft, because I manage my SPEED.

Ammo issue you can split the guns, so halfthe burst but double the time to fire.
Looks like the wing rip issue is related to acceleration combined with negative gs. This is much like the su7 at the same br

did you know that if you put it in combat flaps the flaps on right side goes inside the wing not on right side tho
The wings on the F4D-1 Skyray will rip if they reach a 10g pull.
In air RB they literally rip on no G turns sometimes, its really not consistent with the stats on paper

Everytime I take this thing into a test drive the cockpit doesn't fully close and breaks off, I feel like it's not fully finished

I think it was the overall speed and maneuverability that threw me off. After I recorded this gameplay, I haven't experienced a rip.

Run it with minimum fuel and without hydraulic boosters and it never rips. With 20 min fuel its too heavy for the wings, even without boosters

Scimitar is a much better aircraft. Same 100m/s climb rate, same acceleration, more ammo, actually has great use in GRB and SQB with bullpups. Sure you sacrifice your rudder, but that thing sits at 8.7 and doesn't rip :D
Also, if you truly didn't see anything like that in terms of structural integrity, try the Sea Meteor. The legend of a plane has godlike performance, it's called "Sea Jesus" for a reason, but you really have to master the thing because it is severely limited by 8g destructive overload and 815km/h Vne. For real, your own structure will kill you much more often than the enemies in this game :D

9G isnt much for warthunder, a lot of planes pull like 15G no problem so only 9 is not much
It's quite tough ripping at only 9Gs, especially at 9.0*. Most fighters will handidly pull 10Gs, some even more and will rip at 11-13Gs. Quite similar to the meteors, except you're going much faster now (so it's easier to pull lots of Gs accidentally).
* 9.3, so it's even worse in that regard. High speed performance of this thing is quite lackluster.

While I agree the wing rip is a bit inconsistent, the way he flies around like an actual bot relying so heavily on mouse control is not helping at all. I'm pretty sure if he flew out the Me163 or Sabres he'd have the same issues. On second thought he'd probably just go headon with everyone in the match, call 2 kills decent, and then excuse it as he's giving "real gameplay."
