    Brilliant! Babs, my uncle's son and Sam a close relative. We used to fish to together along the South Coast, albeit - last time was in 1983 in Oslo Beach. Sam's Bother - Dixon - was a master Kob fisherman - the best. I am based abroad - hopefully will cast a bait in the not too distinct future in KZN.

    Thanks Kent for the mention, great video, currently working on some new and improved lures, will courier some to you once they are ready for use. If possible suggestions on colors and weights would help my design process.

    • @KentsFishing
      @KentsFishing  2 роки тому

      Pleasure Garth and I will continue trying them out. I don’t think there’s any issue with the colours. I do prefer a heavier lure so maybe some more weight would be great. Possibly 1-2 ounce, not sure how many grams that is. Reason, I think these lures will do well for Garrick, Kingies and GT’s and for that we need a bit of distance to be able to cast to the back and let the lure swim in the wave hoping to lure one of this fish to take the bite. I’m still trying them out and will give more feedback as we go. Again , appreciate the samples and look forward to trying more of your lures . Shot bru 🤙

      Don’t give up 🤣 I know you get despondent after all that casting. Next time you go spinning, just take in your surroundings. Look at water structure , look at the sand formation on the beach, my point is distract your mind from the casting. It makes spinning a lot easier and then bang!! Hi Kent. I enjoy your videos. Always informative. I am hoping to come down to Leisure Bay later this month. Hopefully I will bump into you. Any tips for fishing at Leisure Bay? I am specially wanting to target kob, garick and of course shad before the season closes. I would love to fish at the sandspit but I am pushing 75 and would be very wary fishing there on my own!!

    • @KentsFishing
      @KentsFishing  2 роки тому

      Hello Heinz, scratching would be probably the best to start with because there’s a huge possibility of getting Bronze Bream. They will still be on the bite. You might also get Poensie, Rockcod or Mussel Cracker whilst scratching. For Garrick or Kob rather fish Marina Beach although it does get rather crowded rather fish Port Edward Splash Rocks or Lighthouse for them. live Shad or live Karanteen always do the trick. Check my video called my favourite traces if you not sure on how to rig them up. Yes please don’t fish Sandspit alone and always be aware of your surroundings wherever you do decide to fish. Have a safe trip down and wish all the best of luck. Tightlines

    Huge respect for your video and your attitude to both conservation and anglers. I just wish people would also learn to put undersized fish back in the water. Here at the Bluff where I live fishing is very, very poor. This is a result of catching more than your limit, breeding stock and undersized fish. You dare not speak to anyone about undersized fish as they become extremely aggressive. Not good!!!

      Zain we have got to continue informing the public and leading by example. Its frustrating when anglers don’t comply and unfortunately the authorities excuses are that they don’t have the resources or lack there of. This is why I speak about integrity. The guys need to do the right thing because there is no one policing this. If we don’t then we just not going to have any fish to catch.
