Mostly because, there is no threat scenario here and also because of the IT advancement and the Government being stable adds to the whole experience. Due to the above reasons, lot of tourism happens and hence there is a need for a lot of hotels. And a majority of these hotels are new and being managed/owned by people who are well travelled. Once again, awareness and access is available across. It's a whole different ball game! I'd say, you are doing pretty good for yourself, on behalf of India, I'd love to invite you to our country and experience it personally.
That hotel is in new market kolkata. One of the most busy bazaar areas of india that is why you saw some plastics flying around. Just outside the gate is a busy market the air carried it inside.

If it’s Oberoi hotel then it’s quite unfair to compare with any hotel in Pakistan. Oberoi hotel is one of the most luxurious hotel chains in India.
