IMPORTANT: Always read and adhere to the individual image licence that accompanies the image you'd like to use in your work. Be aware that some licences place restrictions on commercial usage (for example, Vecteezy allows up to 50 copies of a work to be sold before you're required to purchase an extended licence). Please see this video's description for further information, as well as links to Vecteezy's image licence, and a link to my video on proper image attribution.
First, you have a great speaking voice and your diction and grammar make you easy to listen to so you don't need to be an "entertainer." Second this is a great tutorial, and other commenters have great ideas too. As most, I'm concerned about licensing. You mentioned that after 50 sold copies, Vecteezy requires an image license. I infer then, that I would have to track my number of sales. Is there license requirement per image or a general license allowing use of ANY image in unlimited numbers? I haven't read their agreement yet so my questions might be premature. Anyway, thanks!
Rachel, your instruction is great. I'm so tired of having to wade through five minutes of getting screamed at and the teacher trying to be entertaining in other tutorials. You get right to the point, and you make it about the process. Also, every time you do a click or type something, you explain what you are doing. And you don't go too fast. Love it, thank you so much!
Thanks, Sue, that means a lot! I seriously wouldn't even know how to try and be entertaining on camera, haha. I'm definitely not a performer. I'm glad to hear that you find my information to-the-point.

I'm currently working on coloring book myself and using Photoshop for the darkening when I need to adjust it. Hi Rachel! I just came across your video and it’s so much fun, I learned so much! Thank you! I kept seeing the suggestion by the program to change the dpi to 300 if you’re going to use canva, but you left it at 72. Does it make a difference or is 72 going to still print in a good resolution? Also, if the final product is going to be in PDF why not save it in pdf on vecteezy? Thanks again!
is a coloring book still considered low content? every page is different. also, would you recommend leaving a blank space between the images? some coloring books have black pages on the back so the color doesn't bleed through. would that make it more expensive?
Thank you for a great tutorial! I'm looking at vecteezy now, but everything I open in the free section says that attribution is required. Would you put that on each page, or once at the beginning of the book, or where?
You're welcome! I normally include attribution in very small type on the same page as my copyright information. If the licence on each image is the same you'll only need to include it once. Ensure you always open the image licence and take note of exactly how they require it to be attributed in the final document.
Hello! I'm using my mothers account, but I have a question. I did everything you said right up to the part to upload it. I cannot open up my zip file. Do you have any idea of how to fix this?
I was very frustrated with this. I could never get the border to show. It was always greyed out so I could not choose it. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks.
Would you be willing to remake this video using Affinity? I have shared this video in a couple of FB groups and they loved it. Your Affinity videos are very popular and I'm sure loads of LCB people would like to make coloring books with Affinity. Thanks
Great video yet again When you export as jpeg...wouldn't the background color used to create the image come as well. Thus a white background when you import into Canva or PowerPoint would give your image that background. So does that mean you have to ensure your pages are white when choosing interior page color in pro when uploading?
Thanks, Carl! You're right, .jpgs don't allow for a transparent background. For coloring books the pages will always be white, so it doesn't pose a problem in this situation.
PNG is normally the ideal format for rasterised versions of vector images, so I'm surprised you said not to use it. Is there some limitation of Canva that means that PNG images don't work properly?
While downloading from free version of vecteezy they are asking to use attribution. But in your video it is showing no attribution required. I think you are using paid version of it.
I know that this video is more than a year old, but when I download free content from vecteezy, it doesn't give me the vsg format. It only gives me eps, jpeg, and pdf. Has that changed since you made the video or am I doing something wrong? thanks!
Do you have to space out the illustrations so that when the person colours it in the colour doesn't bleed through onto the illustration on the other side of the page?
Hello, Do i can get many picture from vecteezy and make it as colloring pages and sell it on kdp. Its mean copyright or something like that ? Or no problem ?
Make sure to carefully read the license for any image that you plan to use in any books that you sell commercially. I've left a link to Vecteezy's licence in the description, so be sure to read and adhere to it fully.
Rachel, I have tried again, with the exact same image you downloaded in your instructional video. Once the download completes these are the files in the zipped folder: jpg, eps, chrome html, AI file and the adobe agreement page.....what am I doing wrong? This is so disappointing to me, I am following you step-by-step but without the svg file I cannot drag the images separately to different pages so I cannot edit them. I even tried cropping the original image but still I cannot edit (take the colors out)
You could combine your own artwork with other pre-made images. That’s what I plan on doing. I use Adobe Illustrator and Afinity Design. I tried Inkscape and I do NOT like it.
hi rachel, I tried to export, like you, many images from gravit, but they are not .svg , only eps, jpg or chrome html document.... and I tried to pick up one of the animals from the 1. page... but it is unpossible.. thanks ;)

I just paid $50 for a course on how to do this, and I still think that your video is as valuable if not more valuable than what I paid for. The course showed more complex designs suitable for adult coloring pages. I think your information is equally valuable because it shows a more simplistic approach with better sources and tools than the course. Thank you so much because I have been searching for a video like this for a couple years now.
Hi, so glad I found this video, excellent job! Being of the "much" older generation, it was easy to follow and I learned so much. Thank you for your generosity.

Is it possible to remove all the colors add boarder lines when all of the images are on the same page and them move them to their own pages after to save some time?
I think I am doing something wrong because I am only getting jpg and eps options and not SVG after downloading. Another thing the pa settings keep changing it's not staying at 11 inches for the height. When I do try an SVG file it just does not work because the page size does not stay. One more thing in the page size drop-down arrow which option do you choose? Looking forward to your response. Thank you
Hey Very informative. But I have a problem. The image downloaded from Vecteezy is a zip file. When I double click it it only open to JPG &SPG. AND NOT SVG
BTW, is ther any particular reason you don't use Pixabay since they have vectors and you don't need to give any attribution at all? I'm asking just in case there is something I'm missing or not aware of?
Hi Rachel, I am creating a Low content book for Contractors. Can you tell me if page 2 would be the back of page 1 or are the back of pages loaded as blank
Hello Rachel.. I am trying to follow your video and everything is going great.. except the ungroup button is not working or turned on for me when I select the image. I am using the 15 day free trial. Please advise
The images Have downloaded as a zip and gravit doesn’t recognise… how do I download my images from vectezzy to a SVG file please ? I couldn’t see an option ?
Hey Racheal, Thanks for this wonderful video....but vecteezy is not providing .svg fils but .eps files. The problem is that i cant pick one image out of the many in a single file. Please how do i do it. Thanks
This was a very great presentation, thank you! The method you explain looks great for children's coloring books, but how would you go about implementing this technique for adult coloring books?
Hello Richel, You are someone who is very giving, very kind, and very humble. What you gave away for free is actually worth a significant amount of cash. Caring is sharing, after all. I have spent some time looking for several methods that might be used to generate colouring books. Today, UA-cam suggested that I watch your video, and I am really grateful for the suggestion.
Do you recommend leaving every other page in a colouring book blank so that the colours don't bleed through/ also in case the pages want to be torn out to stick to the fridge? Great tutorial BTW I was worried about creating a colouring book and I have almost finished my first one which I started this morning. I am using Affinity Designer which is easy to edit the vectors :)
Hey Jennifer! Affinity Designer looks really great; a genuine alternative to the Adobe Creative Suite. You can do either, but just mention in the description which one it is. A lot of customers do like the every-other-page layout for the reasons you mentioned, so I think that's a good place to start.
Hi, I'm using the vectorezzy website and all the downloads I've found come in .eps...I can't find any SVG and when I put them in Gravit I don't have those grouping options you had in your video for each character...not sure what to do. Any advice?
Waiting for a response to this is well. I can't move the individual images from page 1, each onto their own page - and I suspect I can't because the file is .eps, there is no "SVG"
IMPORTANT: Always read and adhere to the individual image licence that accompanies the image you'd like to use in your work. I actually drew my pictures how do I upload them? I will edit an image then try to make a new page for my next one how do i do that?
BTW, is ther any particular reason you don't use Pixabay since they have vectors and you don't need to give any attribution at all? I'm asking just in case there is something I'm missing or not aware of?
I have used Pixabay before; feel free to use any site you want!
Hey Racheal,
Thanks for this wonderful video....but vecteezy is not providing .svg fils but .eps files. The problem is that i cant pick one image out of the many in a single file. Please how do i do it.
Thanks
This was a very great presentation, thank you! The method you explain looks great for children's coloring books, but how would you go about implementing this technique for adult coloring books?
I could not find and spg or epg file. When I downloaded the free image, I only got a zip folder with 3 files - the pdf license, .eps and .jpg
You said Inkscape doesn't play well with Macs, but what about PCs?
If I pay to download images will I be able to use them for publishing? Thanks
