Last time i was in Chester zoo was 1977 on a school trip Then we left there and spent 3 days n nights camping at Eisteddfod. I still today I've no Idea what was the jist of what was meant to be going on. Just a get away for us
Just wondering where you launched from ? I had planned to fly over part of the zoo, it’s just a question of where from. I doubt they would be happy with me launching from the public footpath that goes through the zoo, or from within the zoo on one of my visits.
As you said, I know pretty much every part of tjat Zoo by heart, I remember a time when the Zebras where up where Islands is now, but the one thing I cant place is still the black and white roofed buildimg just by the roundabout, and the avaiary just passed the Rhinos. I just dont know what they were at all, and it bugs me. The section of walls wont be a lake, its too shallow by the building where it drops, most likely a moat of some description, the high walls are likely to retain the earth behind, as they add in some elevation.
Building by the roundabout is the bachelor giraffe herd herd house. Only one mature male giraffe can be kept in a breeding group.. The aviary is for African white-backed, white-headed and hooded vultures. And perhaps secretary birds.

Thank you.
I preferred the zoo as it was specially the mono rail, great video though Nick 😊
When did they have a monorail?
A few years back now but was really good, used to be able to get around the zoo a lot easier. Being disabled it was a relief 😊
Must be a bit chilly for the animals 😅

Coming along nicely. Are you allowed to do an overhead tour of the zoo itself?

@@bongorob No, I mean the old one, that has been there since before the new buildings. It has the black and white roof on.
@@JTScottOfficial Sorry for the confusion, I found it now and I am not sure but I think it is the indoor wild dogs building.
