    Newcastle paid £6M for Ashworth from Brighton, why on earth would they accept £3M and take a loss for someone with 2 years left on his contract just because Jim Ratcliffe said so? It’s absolutely bizzare. The NICE fans have said Ratcliffe wants everything for nothing and it’s so true hence him wanting tax payers to fund his new stadium.

    It depends how Ashworth advised he wanted to leave. If it was notification by email, then he has advised of his intention to quit and it was accepted.

    There will be content creators making out as if "all this drama" is typical of Manchester United, and they wish that all the off-field stuff was kept indoors and we can just hear about the football. Unfortunately, their livelihoods generally depend on MSM writing stories,from which they create content, which we, in turn, engage with! Once INEOS do get their act together, and the drama surrounding this club dies down, it will be interesting to see how the different circumstances affect the few that only thrive because the club has been so... disjointed for so long!

      @aurynwestwield1682 I agree that a couple of the big ones have benefited from it,but my main point is that we all play our part,and we are caught in a loop. MSM writes articles, and many are fabricated. The general public is aware that the articles may or may not be true,but it's "news," so it's a subject for debate,and content creators choose from the options available and engage with the most... engaging. So it's BS on top of BS,covered in BS!
      Or maybe I'm just sad because I support Man U...😏

    Ashworth has also implicated barrada who should also be investigated

  • @bigbradshaw10
    @bigbradshaw10 24 дні тому +10

    Ok, so the reason this situation is messy is because Man u have tried to do this all 'through the backdoor'. When Newcastle united went for ashworth from brighton, we approched the club first (after a head hunting firm recommended Ashworth for the position) We then approched BRIGHTON first to negotaite a price to buy him out of his contract, THEN went to ashworth with the contract an job proposal. He agreed and we STILL we waited for 6 months gardening leave before we could have him after all that.
    Man united Decided to tap him up behind Newcastle united's back while he was STILL empolyed at Newcastle, Turned his head (because of sir dave brailsford being his mate) come join the project etc. We had strong suspicons he was being tapped up and therefore placed him on gardening leave as he is privy to HUGELY sensitive information about our club (Which newcastle is WELL within their rights to do because he is a NEWCASTLE united employee and still is WHILE on gardening leave).
    Now Ashworth is saying 'wooooo this gardening leave is a bit steep mate!, cmon lemmie go to these guys we all consipried behind your back with for a few months!!! Dont be a mad bro!' and Newcastle are saying 'No, you have axcess to REALLY sensitive information about newcastle and are STILL on the payroll on your gardening leave'.
    Now Newcastle have found proof of Ashworth commincations with Berrada and Man U while Ashworth was still an emplyee of Newcastle united, because of an email chain Ashworth stupidly CC'ed onto his newcastle account where is is talking to Berrada (who is on man city gardening leave an is not allowed to work for another club) and the contents showed not only was he being tapped up by Man U, but Ashworth was sharing details of contract details between Brighton an Newcastle. That information is not his to divulge to a thrid party coming in to try and poach him.
    I would love to have the two clubs come to some soret of arrangment as tbh, this storyline is boring and being dragged on and now apparently through the mud.
    However, Newcastle has been shown zero respect in all of this, from Man U or Ashworth, an yea i get it, we all point and laugh at each other and get tribal over our clubs, but make no mistake, Newcastle does not need to roll over accept some low ball comp offer from a director of football we chased for a long time (and at great expense) to have them and a premier league rival behave in this manner.
    Dont get annoyed at Newcastle, if i were you id be annoyed at Ashworth/Beraada (and extension Sir jim etc) for being this silly in the way they have tried to approch this move.
    Hope it gets sorted at some point, but the misinformation flying around this topic is mad.

      I think the point of Ashworth taking it to arbitration is just an attempt to make Manchester United stick with him. They don't want to pay the full compensation fee,and they aren't happy about the length of gardening leave. Ashworth wants arbitration to make one or both smaller,small enough that INEOS doesn't look like a soft touch. It's plain to see that Ashworth's(or any other competent professional of his ilk!) addition to our executive structure will cut our wastage within the transfer market, by much more than the full fee within one or two windows, and my main concern is that arbitration will not speed up the process at all and INEOS are planning to use (talk of) this process as a "contributing factor" later on,to justify all sorts of shenanigans that may occur this summer. For example, if excess deadwood remains or obvious targets are snatched away early,then the fact that our attention was focused on creating the right structure for the future could be seen as a relatively plausible excuse for the lack of activity. I'm still not convinced that INEOS have anywhere near the sense of urgency that the average fan has... only time will tell.

Everything would be off the record, but Brailsford would pass the information on to the new football department's brains-trust to do with as they please. Not ethical and illegal, but almost impossible to prove and I'd be surprised if it isn't already happening considering the football world is full of opportunism. Newcastle know this and it is in their best interest to not be paying someone a large salary when they might already be working for a competitor off the books. Newcastle can push this for as long as they want, but when someone is eager to leave they are negotiating from a very weak position. Ashworth is under contract to Newcastle until 2025 and shouldn't have been talking to any other potential employers. Simple as that .He agreed to such when he signed and accepted higher wages as compensation. Man Utd should have approached Newcastle before they did Ashworth. That is the rule. Ordinary folks like us have short contracts where we give an agreed short notice period.
