Tak!
❤❤❤
That clarinet player, is really feeling this part. She comes in very strong. And has a great understanding of this piece..... Very talented !
15 years old pianist? I can't believe! Her zeal, her precision, her playfulness, her sense of the jazz... Fantastic!
That 1st Clarinet is smoooooth. Nicely played young lady.
I know right
Agreed 💕
She is amazing!
Yes. The only rendition where the clarinetist got it ...lyrical.
Yes she is! To start such an iconic piece all by yourself...she crushes it!
Wow. The pianist brought so much to this performance. And the clarinetist....JUST WOW!
That has *got* to be the smooth and silkiest _Rhapsody_ clarinet intro I've ever heard! Entire performance is phenomenal! 👏👏👏
That might be the best clarinet opening I've ever heard for this piece.
If New York City had a theme song, this would be it. ❤️🍎
The clarinetist AND pianist are WORLD CLASS this piece is so incredibly hard to get just right and she (pianist) nailed it. Probably my favorite version of Rhapsody in Blue I’ve heard on UA-cam (including all the world class world famous orchestras on here. Everyone!). Very very very well done! BRAVO.
You pulled the syllables right over my tonsils!
The clarinetist! She simply sailed through one of the most difficult pieces. Brava!
...the girl who plays the piano, got me crazy... ...so talented she is!!!
...my warmest regards to this magnificent orchestra, from Santiago de Chile, Downtown!!
💕💕💕🎶🎵🎶🎹🎶🎵🎶💕💕💕
They are all young and so talented. The clarinetist and pianist are world class. Viva Poland. Your music and spirit of freedom shall never die
The clarinetist is awesome. Best RiB intro I've ever heard.
I genuinely believe there are NO finer or more deserving stewards of western culture than the people of Poland. This is , in every respect, a MAGNIFICENT PERFORMANCE!!!!!! BRAVO. POLSKA NA ZAWSZE
Wow!!!! The power of youth 💕❤....great performance !!! Poland has some of the finest.
Thank you and cheers from USA
The coolest clarinet intro to any song ever and she's a master! Outstanding piano. Great work on the background instruments.
Yes the pianist only personal title Master. Supreme court justice Clarence Thomas.
@@cynthcorcor126 right on
I thought that was an oboe.
@@cynthcorcor126 Excuse me?
I've heard Rhapsody in Blue so many times, I've almost memorized it. First time watching it on UA-cam and boy, what a performance! So nice to see young performers playing so well. Credit to the conductor who led out in the expression of the varying moods, but the clarinetist did her part perfectly and the pianist was astonishing. The trombones and french horns are often overlooked in comments, but they filled in all the warm tones perfectly.
Omg this piece… they went through a revolution, a war, a plight, just nailed it all. The sound of Industrial Revolution. Trying, failing… trying again… success! This is such a powerful piece of composure.
For 20 minutes and 19 seconds Poland was in charge of music in the universe
The young lions of poland. Leopold would be proud.
The degree of understanding and quality of musical interpretation that comes from Poland is absolutely ASTONISHING. These are virtually CHILDREN performing this piece. OUTSTANDING talents ALL.
@Nastro Adhesivo Calm down
@Nastro Adhesivo This is how you respond to a positive comment? Sounds to me like you need therapy. Big time.
@Nastro Adhesivo The Americans don't love you either! ;-)
While my nation is far from perfect, the generalizations you made are simply not true.
I'm sure many Europeans are often frustrated by American culture, but we are the Great Melting Pot. YOU, are also part of our culture.
We take from everyone - everywhere.
@Nastro Adhesivo BJ > American?!? Bob Jones is a classic Cambodian name, just like Yorrick.
Also you dare criticize UA-cam - invented in the USA by 3 *American citizens* . < Go ahead and correct me, yet it's true.
Back when this piece was young perhaps a more youthful orchestra played the notes.
Very few pianists have the heart and soul required for this piece. She has it
This makes me SO much want to be young again. A life filled with music and young people with dreams and skill and passion.
You will one day.
Well I am 73 and have heard many expositions o this music, but I think this just might be the best. Bravo!
I know Gershwin’s music better than I know any other composer’s music. He would have LOVED what she did in the middle with that cadenza! He loved it when Oscar Levant interpreted him, and he would love what Maja did. This is my favorite piece of my life, since I first heard it 61 years ago. I am now 66, and I’m smiling because Gershwin would have loved this performance beginning with that incredible clarinet. George Whiteman would have hired her on the spot to play it for the premiere in Aeolian Hall in 1924. I love Poland and its people, having been there four times in five years, and I would go back just to hear this orchestra and Maja play anything!
The opening clarinet has phenomenal control.
First time I watched/listened required that I immediately do an encore. Exceptional rendition of Mr. Gershwin's RHAPSODY IN BLUE. Miss Babyszka's piano work was absolutely Amazing! She totally WOWED and mastered that piano. Awesome, Maja, AWESOME!
The clarinetist is perfectly fantastic; but the pianist out-shined Gershwin himself. Bravo to you all!!!!
No disrespect, but without Gershwin, there is no pianist.
My goodness, I'm watching this in 2021, and Maya Babyszka is 21....she should be touring the world with her talent.
I played the clarinet and I was pretty good. This clarinet player is absolutely spectacular. In her own way, probably as good as the pianist. Hard to believe that she and the orchestra did not get a standing ovation.
Breathtaking, I watched it 4 times in a row… The best rendition I’ve ever witnessed… That’s how a piano is played with class and style. Bravo, perfect!!! 🎅🏻🏴☠️🏔
This version holds up and has touched so folks through the marvel of UA-cam. Kudos.
music is THE international language. everybody gets it, old and young poor and rich, etc.
Rhapsody in Blue is America, the industry, the growth, the power, the ups and downs, the magic of the promised land. Wonderful, and superbly rendered here.
I listen to this all the time. It continues to be an outstanding performance by all and brings me much joy!
The verve and fire of youth makes this take flight.
I have lost count of how many times I have watched this, and it never ceases to amaze me how talented these young people are, and what a great conductor they have. This is, for me, one of the greatest pieces of American music ever written, and this is the finest performance I have ever heard. Bravo!
A masterful performance by all. Kudos to the pianist and flutist.
I to jest jeszcze Szkola...to jak wspaniale beda Oni grac, gdy zostana Profesjonalistami...? 🇵🇱
Given what appeared to be the youthfulness of this group of musicians, they were astonishing in how they delivered this magnificent performance of this brilliant composition. The pianist was truly amazing. What talent! What a gift! Thank you to all for your loving rendition of Gershwin's iconic masterpiece (and that includes the maestro, fine work sir!). Bless you all.
Also, thank you to the cameraman..you caught important players at important moments! Thanks. John.😊
BRAVO POLSKA!!! ...from Cochrane, Alberta, Canada... Excellent!!
Clarinet player is AWESOME!!!!!
The clarinetist absolutely kills it! Such a clear tone. Also, I love the way she is looking at the bassoonist during his solo.
For those who want to nit pick the pianist, chill. She presented this piece in a way that, in my opinion, Gershwin would have loved. It was unique and frankly, it swung.
Huzzah to the director and orchestra!
I don't think she's looking unusually at the bassoonist. She's just watching closely. Why not? She really doesn't have much of a view of anyone else. And I agree - her playing is superb.
If only I could think of such praise and not only for the pianist and clarinetist.
@@carlmcvey6451 me too they are tops
First rate! It was astounding to hear how well the 1st clarinet and piano 'feel' the jazz idiom. The jazz/boogie-woogie cadenza was a delight. If this is the standard of youth playing in Poland the rest of the world had better look out!
The parents of the Pianist and Clarinetist should (and probably are) very proud!
Maja is playing with the bluesy and jazzy elements of this piece like a seasoned cabaret performer. Wow! Hers is one of the most soulful interpretations of this music I have ever heard.
Wow. What a performance! Bravo. The pianist is totally incredible and a good future is awaiting her.
This is the best recording I have ever heard of this piece. The young pianist was feeling that music in every cell of her body. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.
Wonderful performance on a par with Leonard Bernstein playing it many years ago. Thank you.
That soaring clarinet at the beginning never gets old.
This deserves a standing ovation to all involved. Hard to believe its a youth orchestra? this is the best version of this piece on UA-cam.
Only wish George Gershwin lived longer, this my mom's favorite piece.
Great clarinetist, amazing pianist and a wonderful orchestra. BRAVO ALL!
Wow, Wow, Wow That opening clarinet is just amazing!
My best friend was a concert pianist from Poland, first generation American. At fifteen, THAT is how he played. My mind was blown away by his skill at such a young age. It warms my heart to be reminded of him m.❤🎵
The talent here is incredible. The Poles are beautiful!
I came across this video for the first time several years ago, and ever since then I keep coming back to watch it again and again. Such a beautiful song and moving performance.
This is awesome on so many levels. Congrats to the pianist, the clarinetist and the whole orchestra!
I can't come up with words. This is so beautifully done!
Wow. So good. Clarinet? Out of hand! Wow! And our pianist? I'm in awe. Simply transporting. I am so grateful that this performance happened and was recorded for us.
Чудо - исполнительница! ! ! Девочка - БРАВО !
The pianist is a rare combination of young and sophisticated. Nicely done. The clarinet is unbelievable!
Yes!
@@MyBeatriz77 She does a a lot of Jazz work as well, which is most likely where that comes from
@@MyBeatriz77
Have you watched Lang Lang playing this?
Not necessary, but part of the performance nonetheless, and is it necessary to sit like a statue with only the arms moving, or even possible?
@@MyBeatriz77 Well, she is just 15, full of the energy of youth. It's good to see how she enjoys playing. Did you see Rubinstein as young? :-)
Ironic (Post Atom Bom) How certain classes of Japanese society, worship and patronize western classical music.
It's a year later, and I'm still in awe of this orchestra! A beautiful rendition of a timeless classic!
No coś NIEZWYKŁEGO!!!
I saw Leonard Bernstein perform this with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1982, and this rendition is its equal. Rhapsody indeed! This performance is a work of genius; flawless and complete.
Agreed. At times I thought I was listening to Bernstein conducting the NY Phil. That pianist is a genius.
THE FUTURE IS HERE. THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE THE FUTURE OF CLASIC MUSIC!!!!!!!! PLAYING MY FAVORITE GERSHWIN´S MASTER WORK!!!!!!!!!!
Espectacular simplemente
WHAT? 652 people did not like this video? How is that even possible? Was it because of tune? It’s just one of the great compositions of the 20th century....was it the incredible young musicians? They nailed it....you have to b a misanthrope not to be in awe of this performance....well done
Dilettantes.
Or missed their nap or off meds.
Idiots!
The cadenza was absolutely nuts fantastic!!!!!!😊😊😊😊
What a treasure! I return for a pure joy of listening, and imagining.

I appreciate ALL the people here that would practice for the many 1000's of hours to be as good as they are. THANK YOU!!
By far one of the finest performances of Rhapsody in blue. Amazing young Maja takes control of piano and orchestra like no other. A prayer in music. Congrats to each and everyone for this performance !!!
I have heard many versions of Rhapsody in Blue. However this rendition is the best I have ever heard. From the opening of the clarinet which was electrifying to the passion and zeal of the young lady at the piano who absolutely set this music on fire. The female attire is also a plus.
Such a thrill witnessing such a flawless performance!
That this was performed from what was written on paper!
Having heard this piece many times over the years, this video seems the best rendition.
The pianist at just 15 years of age plays as if she wrote it herself!
The orchestra members like the clarinet, percussionists and violinists were so endearing.
If I were to encounter any other of the members on the street I'd feel privileged, specially after around 18 minutes into the video, they all played like soloists improvising!
Thanks for the video, it was like a blessing!
Maybe not flawless, but I still agree completely. From about 11 minutes into it, and for maybe one minute afterward, it's her - she improvised it. She wrote that! This young lady is multi talented - and she sings like a bird!
Is there an emoji to show my jaw dropping? The talent from the whole orchestra , especially at their age is astonishing.
Wow - excellent - unique version of this classic Gershwin piece! 15 years old - amazing girl!! The whole orchestra was great - thank you!!
What amazingly gifted and dedicated young people! They all deserve to be recognized for the great talent they have. Kudos to their teachers too. Wonderful.
The three hundred people that gave this MAGNIFICENT performance a thumbs down should not be allowed to watch such videos!
Agreed
But 12,000 gave it the thumbs up.
These kind of people hate what they see in the mirror every morning. Poor devils...
What do you expect from people who love modern music.
Sound-deaf....?.
Listening to Maja brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful rendition of a great piece. Thank you so much for sharing.
Holy crap!!! The clarinetist is spectacular. She bends those notes like no one's business. Epic control.
Yup - absolutely amazing - the best opening ever!
She sets the standard in the first bar - and got me comparing it to Andre Previn. But, hold on a second - the lass has 558 "likes" on Facebook, and I wonder about a drivers license yet. They are best in the end, they recover in the middle and wakes up to the finale. They will go far!
Yup -- Rhapsody in Blue is a good clarinetist's dream gig, and a bad clarinetist's nightmare.
@@johne6081 !.I am not going anywhere for you, I think it was
@@johne6081 .
Absolutely wonderful. The clarinetist stole the show. The pianist is 15 years old? What are our youth coming to.
Straordinaria esecuzione con una bravissima Maja Babyszka .Un grande applauso a tutti .
It's an amazing act of human accomplishment when GERSHWIN composed this jaw dropping Masterpiece. It's all there...Depth, Melody, Excitement, Brilliance and a Blues 'sound'. The more I hear this masterpiece, the more I am amazed with GERSHWIN.
Prior to this piece, I have never heard a Clarinet do the glissando in any non- pop music.
RIP GERHWIN. You are beyond amazing!
Jakie to ZACHWYCAJĄCE! Młodzieńcza Piękność i Świeżość - Maja Babyszka grająca na światowym poziomie wykonawczym! Młoda orkiestra, ze znakomitą, pełną wdzięku klarnecistką, mistrzowsko, dowcipnie wykonującą swą krótką partię solową. Bydgoszcz. TYLE ZACHWYTÓW - całkowicie ZASŁUŻONYCH, w różnych językach! A po polsku?
Tak! Życzę tym wszystkim, młodym muzykom wszelkiej pomyślności zawodowej i osobistej! I dalszego rozwoju i SZCZĘŚCIA! Pozostajecie WSZYSCY w moim sercu!
Beautiful, absolutely perfect in every respect. Maja Babyszka was an Angel accompanied by a group of Angels. Led by a master.
The only person who can find a better rendition of this Rhapsody in Blue, would be Maja Babyszka. Until then, this is the best version... period
After hearing the clarinet start, all RiB versions it’ll seems so simple to me... Bravo Klaudia Gurzyńska and thanks for these goosebumps 🙌🏼
Greetings to everyone from Mexico 🇲🇽
In my opinion Gershwin represents the finest American music not only this he talks to the heart with deep strong emotions while he describes emotionally the life in New York.
The intro has always set the tone, just like this performance 👍👍👏🏾👏🏾❤️
A quintessentially American piece executed spectacularly by European youth! Bravo!!!!
Spectacular performance from all but I feel that I must mention the clarinetist, I have never heard anyone play it better.
This is the best I’ve ever heard. So much talent.
I`ve heard 100`s of this production over 70 years, and this one is simply stunning ...... George Gershwin would be proud of this ,, maybe even goosebumps to his own composition . Turn over in your grave ,, George..,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Love it !....................................Bob, your earliest admirer...
Mi admiración y respeto para estos jóvenes. Bendiciones.
Zawsze miałem slabość do muzyki Gershwina, ale te wykonanie jest genialne. Im częściej to oglądam, to coraz bardziej mi się podoba.
I love it how that clarinettist puts our mind at ease in the first few seconds, that it's going to be an awesome performance!!
God Damn! This is the best version I have ever heard in 64 years!
Maja Babyszka's playing talks to my emotions in a way that few pianists can. Bravo Maja.
I consider myself to be a very good pianist and I can tell that that whole emotion thing is a joke. Most of the time its exaggerated.
I saw a live performance of this song once for a high school honor's band and they had the school's piano professor play the piano part and I thought it was amazing watching them do the full thing without any music, and now here's a kid doing the same thing with no music. Very impressive.
15 year old pianist who totally gets it!! Wonderful!
The clarinet at the beginning was especially wonderful!
That intro gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. The clarinettist is the star here I think!
Wow, I am so grateful I found this site. Superb!🙋🏼♀️💞🌟
