Bobby Kotick: Proof that Good Things Happen to Bad People, Cheaters Prosper, "Bad Guys" win, and Karma / Karmic Justice is illusory and nonexistent. Also, aggressive market consolidation will be the death of video gaming. The market needs a healthy, independent 3rd party of devs and publishers to survive and grow. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE benefits from having another "Disney" (who owns the Lion's Share of Hollywood and IP) in video games.
I wouldn't hold my breath on this. Like all other greed-driven CEOs, Kotick will be given a golden parachute and land in the commander's chair of a different game studio and/or publisher. Same with Riccitiello.
As good as this change will hopefully be, I can't help but think that Kotick simply retired after acquiring a percentage of that $70B. The prick did his duty by poisoning the industry, and now he's happily leaving the game to enjoy the fruits of his work. *edit:* should have watched the video for another minute ._.

Who knows...
How much would you bet, that before the first "Released Day One" Gamepass variant of COD comes out they release a higher cost Gamepass tier that first party games become exclusive too.
Oh, absolutely. Expect tiered pricing, more ads in paid content, paid early access for literal "rentals," and more from Game Pass. Microsoft has already tipped their hand with the Starfield launch, gamers literally bought into it, which only proves the concept works and emboldens Microsoft - Xbox to go further with nickel-and-diming their customers.
Phil Spencer is Basically Thanos now and instead of infinity stones he's collecting studios and companies and when he finally snaps his fingers Physical media will disappear.
This whole situation has been crazy. My dad actually went to high school with Bob Fitch, the lead programmer on Starcraft, who retired not too long after all the stuff about Blizzard came out.
I love how much you guys have improved since beginning this channel Don't get me wrong it was great at the beginning too but seeing you guys streamline your presentation is very impressive.
There is alot of good that can come for consumers and developers with this deal finally being done but also some bad along with it. For now Kotick just being out and hopefully away from the industry entirely is a 'W" for everyone.
Paying extra for early access is fine with me. It’s usually like a week and it’s good for people who can’t wait. Personally I’ll wait for the GP release
I just want more Blizzard games from StarCraft universe. It’s always had the most potential, imo, to make games outside its traditional RTS format. Give me an FPS, TPS, MMO, Tactics game. All of them could be good, hell, try Ghost again!
Can only speak to right now, and the near future, but it’s insane for anyone to say that GamePass isn’t the best value for gamers on the market right now. Xbox, Bethesda, EA, Activision, Blizzard (plus a bunch of Ubisoft and Sega titles like Yakuza). Sooooo many massive games and content for like $15 a month??? That is insane.

It's a good start but we also need to get rid of the people on the Activision board that actively knew about (and possibly took part in) Koticks activities and closed ranks to protect him. Kotick is one head on this hydra that needs to be removed but there are more.
Biggest concern is this company buy is a last ditch effort for gamepass as well. They aren't even making the 100mill they want but for gamepass to succeed it's going to have to make $500mill. They are already talking about pulling out of gaming by the end of 2028 if gampass doesn't succeed and it's hard seeing it work right now.
Had to pause the video. To go watch the Xbox one & yep that announcement trailer is smaaaarmy AF 😂😂😂😂. All that's missing from the the title is the 😏😏 emojis & 🖕🏾 Sony 😂. But still a cook trailer 👌🏾👌🏾.
I dont play many AAA games anymore. They arent made for my demographic anymore. But man things are getting weird. Platform exclusives used to be a handful of games at most. Not fucking 40+% of games
I wonder if Microsoft will make a tiered setup for Game Pass where Ads are enabled. The issue with these live stream service models is, as a company. You make waaaay more money selling Ads. Than you do with subscribers. So I wonder if people could get a mid-game ad roll every 10 minutes of game time. I hope not. But I wouldn't put it past them.
Im trying to think, without googling.... what does playstation have left? Just its own in house studios? I wouldnt be surprised if they start talking to nintendo again, not entirely different from how the playstation brand started.
Bobby needs to be also remembered as one of the money men behind the Republican party to the tune of over a million dollars to candidates . He helped the campaigns of many a supporter of many a Trump guy, including a dark money hedge fund operation apparently according to various reporters that dug thru the paper shuffle to hide his involvement.
I think Bobby should only get his money if he agrees to jello wrestle John Riccitiello in bikinis over worst man in gaming; Geoff Keighley officiating. Event right before GOTY winner reveal.
I already pay 20$ a month for Gamepass ultimate. If they had a 35 or 40$ teir that game me gamepass ultimate plus Activision catalog then sure thats fair. Now i. My eyes thats fair because that catalog includes WoW, thats the question i think here. How will WoW fit into this.
