Yes You're right it make difficult while playing at church in India but now this tip helps 👍.. .. you're videos are awesome I use to share it with friends in church . May God bless you for the lives your touching with your knowledge . I pray and bless you in the name of Father , Son and Holy Spirit.. that Lord bless you and keep you higher n higher .. for his name to be Glorified .
Hi Stephen! I have a FA08 and my pitch joystick makes strange jumps, and I'm just thinking of buying one of these Roland midi keyboards so I can use the pitch bend correctly and not be frustrated because I use it a lot !! What do you think? Very good videos my friend!
YES that would work (if you do not want to get your current FA-08 joystick repaired ?)..... simply plug in the A-800PRO (and if you turn on the "remote keyboard" switch in the FA-08) ...... you will have full functionality to work from either keyboard
@@daroanvimusen YES..... it's most likely just the physical "joystick" type assembly.... simple matter to remove and replace it..... should not be an expensive repair .... but do NOT try it yourself.... take it to a Roland repair center (most Roland dealers also repair)
FASCINATING 👍.... thanks for going to the trouble to post all these SysEx commands 😁..... clearly you fall into the category of "a power user" who is "adept at the use of modern music technology" ....... unfortunately the majority of viewers of my videos are "seriously challenged" when it comes to using the equipment (they are musicians NOT technical gurus).... the success of my channel (if you can call it "success") is based on EXPLAINING what I find in the Owner's Manual in such a SIMPLE way that even a child can follow the steps........ however, thanks for your comment and you definitely "made my day" 👍🙂
This is one of those situations where an actual player was not around when that key decision was made. People often think that engineers need to have a ear for "what sounds good" to produce musical gear but you and I both know that engineers can "see" better than musicians can "hear." While sounding good is certainly important, of equal and sometimes greater importance is the interface itself. And this was a total interface failure. 😂
Workaround: using the A-Pro Editor, you can program your own transpose values for the SPLIT, DUAL and LOWER buttons. This way you can quickly select 3 different transpose values.
@@StephenMendes You are in a better position than the Edirol (by Roland) PCR-300 / PCR-500 / PCR-800 owners, because those models cannot transpose Note On/Off messages chromatically at all 😀 Note: as for the UPPER button on the Roland A-300PRO / A-500PRO / A-800PRO, it is not programmable at all. So if you press SPLIT, DUAL or LOWER button and then press the UPPER button, the A-x00PRO keyboard will always be set to MIDI channel 1 and default octave (lowest C note Note On 48) and the Transpose value will be set to +2.
When you go into Part View you can change the "transpose" of any Part using the "COARSE TUNE" setting on the PITCH Tab ..... and this saves with the Studio Set..... you can then recall that Studio Set using a "Favorite" button (if you need quick recall) ..... so the answer to your question is YES .... however the front panel transpose facility is for "immediate" use only on the keyboard and that does NOT store..... so do you need a new video for this 🙂? .... or are the above instructions enough ?
If it ain't broken, break it -Roland btw after buying it now I have to sell it, that is the most important function for me, the stupidity of some people boggles the mind
Hay greetings, yeah I see what your saying on that head scratcher, come on roland😕. Although most of the time the workstations help make life easier, thay have come a long way now thankfully. Say hi to all, and dont forget the kitty kittys.😂
Kittys have not been featured recently in my vids.... but they are fine ..... maybe I should take some more clips of their antics (for use in future vids ? ) .... I did not know they were such a HIT with the audience who is now missing them terribly 😂

@@StephenMendes Thank You very much Stephen !
found the answer here for my A-500 thank you very much. it's hard to play live with this, but at least from this video I know how to transpose
A firmware update would be enough. But it seems they don't want to do it. It will be the last Roland I buy
I wont be buying any more keyboards either actually 😁
Second workaround: try to see if the MIDI slave (sound source) responds to MIDI "Master Coarse Tune" messages. If it does, then the Roland A-PRO's Note On/Off messages do not need to be chromatically transposed, but only the various "Master Coarse Tune" messages need to be programmed onto its knobs/pads.

ok after 3 months of buying a800 pro I just learned how to set the transpose ...this is a nightmare for live performance
