Like I heard GS raider say, “you know the devs are stubborn about 6v6 because we have yet to get a 6v6 in arcade mode…”
so true though, if it wasnt better, they could pretty easily have a 6v6 mode with reduced tank health and have it in arcade.
Blizzard has the same issue in every single game.
They simply REFUSE to acknowledge when they're wrong and instead try to double down, every single time. I've seen it in WoW, in Starcraft, in Diablo, in Heroes of the Storm ESPECIALLY, they have always refused to acknowledge their mistakes and fix them, they rather keep pushing their view till it's far too late and then try to spin a narrative of THEM being the ones to realize there's an issue and pretend they're such amazing people by doing changes......and then they change everything EXCEPT what we've been telling them because they continue to believe they're the only ones who know anything.
They had been like that because they became less humble with people treating them as they were gods since the inception of blisscon
its alright to experiment but when things dont work out, stuff needs to be rolled back completely (not partially) and expediently and not allowed to fester
Not true, I also play WoW and they have completely changed from 2020! The game is the best state it’s been since legion. The class design and balance is also amazing!

Finally someone who knows what they're talking about. So many people are either kids or adults who have never played a blizzard game before overwatch and therefor do not understand what blizzard is like.Blizzard practically INVENTED throwing your ego around as a game developer. Every single famous developer you've ever seen do that, tim, todd, randy, blizzard started it before ALL of them. Blizzard invented rockstar developers and It has finally caught up with them.
They legit will just never change. Their name is too premium now. Young developers don't care about their shitty treatment of employees because they want that blizzard name on their resume, while the good ones all steer clear of the trainwreck. Meanwhile the white knights will defend them to their literal deathbed. Even if blizzard screws up, treats their employees like garbage, ruins the game, literally DELETES the game purely to push more microtransactions in a new version of it, they will open their wallets up and drool all over their keyboards.
Have you ever thought about doing your own version of a “downfall of Overwatch?” Like, a super long video just cataloguing the whole timeline of these events?
Honestly, I'd watch the 4 hour downfall of ow samito video. I know he'd do great to recount the entire history well. Everybody else who does it doesn't seem to be too involved or knowledgeable about the history of ow, or they have plat takes. I've never seen anybody get the entire story with little to no error, but I think sam could do it.

There is no more hope for this game. I was there Gandalf 3000 years ago on beta launch. I have a lot of fun memories and this game will always be deep in my hearth. I've achieved top 50 in eu in all roles and now it doesn't even matter anymore. Let it rest in peace.

God this game was so fun years ago. I can still have some fun moments now but not like then.
They couldn't leave a good taste from the end of Overwatch 1 and successfully dangle the false hope of Overwatch 2 and the PvE, so they had to make things worse and leave people desperate for change. If OW 1 was left on this patch for 2 years instead of double shield, 5v5 vs 6v6 wouldn't even be a debate. But the busted state they left the game in muddied the waters and people don't really understand what we lost. Most fun I had in OW1 was tank duo queueing. Just not an option anymore.

OW 1: teamwork having the highest impact, even required to win, high skill ceiling, ability shooter. OW2 is an ability shooter that is creeping further away from OW1 by removing teamwork(and the impact it has) and lowering skill floor and ceiling with every patch and new hero. I dont understand what they though made OW1 successful
It is a good point, it is almost never worthwhile anymore to start stacking up ults, because if you use grav with pulse bomb, for example…you stacked up two ults, that can be undone by one cooldown, when it USED to be a surefire team win, at the least!

the thing that was good in OW1 was ults countered ults, so there was a concept of defensive ult (your trance and beat), in OW2 cooldowns (which are easy to land) make ults irrelevant, so its weird and frustrating at times i feel, i am a support player and yes i agree immos ruined a lot in overwatch (that being said some form of immo as an ult wouldnt be that bad since it can be counted as defensive ult but its real bad as a cooldown), the rest was ruined by removing the second tank which made the tank role into a counter picking bonanza with zero depth and freedom of hero (tank character) picks (choice). OW1 felt more teambased, OW2 feels more deathmatch-y (if thats a word lol) and COD-esque and less team based

They wont even put 6v6 in arcade because they would get proven wrong. I wish they would release a classic version of ow or even just a seperate ow1 based ranked mode.. but they probably wont. Most stubborn devs in existence.
The issue is they have already gone to deep into 5v5, they keeping changing for 5v5 which is going to take years, cause they gotta keep changing people so they work in 5v5 when there fine in 6v6 it’s embarrassing

@@chigwom7894Take years? It's not that hard to adjust a few numbers around. Just use the 2020 state as a reference point. And the support for 6v6 is already there (workshop modes).
@@chigwom7894 The fact of the matter is that 90% of the roster was designed to work in 6v6. Number changes don't mean anything when the core design of heroes is the issue. That's why the balance team is an absolute joke, because they didn't understand that in overwatch 1 and are even worse at understanding it in ow2. More health and stupid self healing passives won't change how absolutely polarizing the meta will be every single patch.
I believe that if you change your mentality from "Blizzard wants to make this good for people who love to play it" to "they just want people who don't care much about this game to buy skins" their decisions do not seem to be mistaken.
this next patch is the last straw for me, I will give it a chance, I will treat it as a fresh start because of how different it will be, but I have a sinking feeling that the really bad things plagueing the game right now will stick around through this patch and it will still end up with me uninstalling the game.
Most games these days (fps, fighters) are dumbing down their games to draw in new audiences. Some things seem better in hind sight, but I’ve seen it too many times. With OW I really think they do this so ppl can just spend money on coins to buy skins and whatever else.
This made me realize that the most fun I ever had in Overwatch was in 2020, especially in the summer and fall. RIP OW and 6v6 I really miss you 😢
I feel as if they had left it in the October patch then when they release OW2, the community would have hatted it and wanted to go back. They made it bad so they could wait as long as possible then left it making the community split where they said 5v5 was the answer and would blame videos from the last patch when one patch before was great idk man sounds like they put the people on the ground then they gave us ow2 in an attempt to galvanize us

genuinely tweaking watching this knowing that i missed out on this patch. i started playing overwatch a few months before ow2 and i hated double shield for just those few months. it pains me to see how this seagull video was almost foreshadowing for how the team was about to fuck everything up

Overwatch 3 will be 4v4 with only 2 roles, Tanky and Utility
I have a few friends that still play OW, but when I saw all of the unnecessary changes and patch updates, I had to hop off the train. I want to have fun. I want to practice and get better but with “Overwatch 3.0” coming out, all I can say to y’all is good luck out there. I honestly lost all signs of hope for the future of Overwatch since the devs don’t learn to observe closely and pause.

I did enjoy this game for years, however since all the OW2 shenanigans and dramas that just keep reoccurring constantly, I've kinda given up now and switched to Helldivers 2. I don't see any improvements for OW in the near future, unless they release OW 1 servers again and revert a lot of the old changes where the game was actually enjoyable with team work and skill that was needed to be executed as you mentioned.

The "problem" is literally team 4 all the way. They are the issue and the cause to the root problems of Overwatch. Transfer Team 4 to a diffrent project and have a new team that loves OW and will actually listen to the community feedback. Team 4 has consistently proven they are not the right fit for Overwatch.

The fact that they made Hanzo’s arrow even larger is insane to me. After his first rework were they sped up his arrows speed. I swapped over from Support to DPS and climbed from bronze to plat.
As a hanzo main, I'm kinda excited however at the same time, the fact that he can't one shot anymore makes me sad.

Never played this infamous oct 2020 patch because I quit this dogshit game sometime around season 14. Came back in ow2 and I’ve been slowly weaning off it again. Havent had any desire to play from season 7 and probably won’t play it again.
This game was killed years ago and it was pretty obvious the direction it would go in. Blizzard’s obstinate refusal to delete (or at least vault) brig was a loud indication that they refused to accept any mistakes and would continue to implement terrible changes into the game in order to avoid addressing key issues.
Ironically, brig was released because they didn’t want to nerf fan favourite heroes like tracer, in fear that there would be a dps exodus. Instead, they got an exodus across the entire game.
I remember during that era where trolls and gas lighters would claim how it was dps crying. Yet myself and my duo both left the game due to the atrocious state it was in… I was a tank main and my duo was a support main.
You can't see Samito but I'm giving you a standing ovation! Exactly what I have been saying since before I found you and now I feel a bit vindicated. Balance and matchmaking is all on the devs but for some reason everyone else will insist BK is the main and only issue.
Fuck Immortalities. Fuck Invisible Characters. Fuck 1 Shots. Change these and the game will be better.

Everything I've seen and heard about season 9 makes me think it will be an absolute shitshow. I knew the OW team were incompetent, but damn! It feels like they are turning the game into COD, where strategy and teamwork take a back seat and everyone can be a 1-man army. I think it'll be one of if not the worst season yet.

Hey, good to see that you didn't end up in a coma after those Kiriko videos but man, I feel old watching this because of remembering when stuff like this was on the OW grapevine even if you didn't hardcore follow OW news.
It's not even any tank meta that's happened. It's been a sustain meta for ages. These older clips show what some support players don't understand and that's how you don't need the cornball immortality or tons of high healing numbers to support your team, just be a better player.
Too bad Blizzard adopted the 'make more Mercy-type supports' idea. Those were their words so they don't even respect the players enough to make a hero challenge to learn for those that would want that because that would feel more satisfying than pretty one button and get loads of value. What's the point of feedback 😂
Stop acting like this 'small indie company' needs the money from skin purchases, especially with buying the abundance of lazy recolors coming out, and see if they don't try to appeal to the feedback then.

It's simple if there's something that makes me unhappy I would change that, why not play a video game your unhappy with? Why complain and keep playing a game you do not like?? I haven't heard your thoughts on that, and I watched many of your interesting videos. I would like to hear your reasons why? Also, I think maybe taking a break from the game may help manage it a little.

@nightowl_dude I mean, if you're searching for team plays and many objectives, He'll Divers 2 just dropped its 40 bucks on console, and you can get pc keys for 32 dollars, and it's really good. It's made by playstation Studio, so it's not your run of the mill indie game. I finished season 8 on OV2 and got burnt out on. Been playing Helldivers 2 might not come from OV2 if season 9 is a dud. Also, it's another cross-platform game as well.

I totally disagree with literally everything. I honestly think the problem that streamers, and other people who played the game too much for too long, have is that they can't separate what was reality vs what is nostalgia and other relevant factors. OW1 could have been in the objectively worst state the game could be for its first year and people would still be like "yea THAT was peak OW". Why? Because it was new and fresh to them and not something that is 8 years old. Oct 2020 was good for the high ranks, not the rest. Same problem as always.

Everyone starting season 9 and after should just call the game overwatch 3 just to let the devs know that overwatch 2 was a disgrace.
At this point its just about ego. they are the "developers" and they think they know better than us. even though they play the game less than us and understand how it functions less than us. They may design a hero but that doesnt mean they understand it better than us.
so glad i dropped ow2 2 seasons in. I just couldn't take how boring it was anymore. teamwork is gone, no comms, whoever presses q first or has more q wins... such a snoozefest (battlepass slop didnt help either)

5v5 will never work, its asymmetrical, didnt work with Evolve, wont work here
you cant giga buff the tank and expect all the other classes to have mostly the same effectiveness
overwatch defensive denials are designed and balanced like moba skillshots, its all "does the thing effectively", its not "but can be countered by..."; there is no counter to suzu / grip / platform
there are no universal defensive abilities, only SOME characters have mitigation, healing, prevention and avoidance, usually they have a one, but no hero has all the tools.
blizzard keeps making a great base but failing on effective defense bc they design everything in a silo, they do later look back and reflect and adjust but they dont look forward to "how will this impact the combat, the match and the game as a whole"
they need to be more like Street Fighter, where you can block but as an ability everyone gets...for example, give everyone passive healing is a great start, but they should do more as that is only one part of it.
not like "give everyone the same ability of wall run" bc its not the same value for each hero,
but instead "give everyone some version of a heal, an escape, a teleport, a prevent, a prevent remover"
right now its "you get two, but not all" but this doesnt work bc offensively and defensively everyone's abilities and guns function as if its reasonable for you to

I remember back when countering grav was either ult for ult or if it was an ability countering grav it was a planned thing that required skill like deflecting it or eating it with dva. U used to have to bait it to counter it with an ability. How long has it been since youve seen a genji plan on deflecting a grav? Its pointless now to do fun things like that because now multiple healers can just counter it with a single basic ability. Game has been destroyed by the newer supports
True, like sometimes when I play lifeweaver, I look forward to grav just so, I can flower peddle the team or life pull someone out and while it's fun, it's probably not healthy.
At the same time when I play Zarya, I feel like nothing ever dies in my grav lol
@@aceclop Because grav was designed to work in 6v6. In 5v5 with one less tank, almost no one is going to be in the perfect position to capitalize off of grav because they don't have the space to position for it.
The last times I deflected an ult as genji was when I accidentally deflected mei's freeze and Hanzo's dragons, it felt really fucking cool

Nostalgia sometimes blinds us, but this right here was some of the most fun on ow I ever had, I had the month off for the rona, and it was my bday month, so I was just grinding, nothing else going on in my life, and the memories I made carry me to still hop onto this game and hope for it to be like this again.

Samito said it perfectly, the play-making aspect of Overwatch is gone now. Having Suzu, Lamp, AND Life grip as options to deny plays (with such short cooldowns as well) just make the game feel bad.
Especially as a tank, I can force these abilities all day, and I just have to hope my team gets something done in that short window of time. It feels awful, and these heroes are in every single game now. Its no coincidence that this is why support queues are insane while the other two roles get instant games.
Invulnerability should be limited to ultimates, period. The game will improve drastically off of that alone
I’m a Support Main yet, I 100% agree with everything you just said; Because the reason why they wont remove immoralities from the game is due to them KNOWING FOR A FACT, that if Supports didn’t have these Auto-Deny Abilities and won’t OP in general, then Dive Heroes would be able to kill everything in the backline due to there being no Off-Tank to Peel for the backline. All of what you said is PURELY a byproduct of 5v5 and poor balance. Supports in 5v5 have to be broken in order for the format to Fundamentally work and the worst part of Blizz doubling down on it, is that they know all of this yet refuse to change it back.
Samito is the only voice of reason. Every other streamer is a Blizzard shill. It's really disheartening.

Thanks for talking about the amount of immortalities in the game. The next patch will be disgusting. Idk what crack the devs are smoking increasing hp pools and fucking projectile size. Can you imagine Jeff Kaplan announcing they were increasing projectile size? It just wouldn't happen. These kinds of game-defining pure mechanical changes are just crazy to me. Much like removing a tank, it's just Blizzard just want to make a brand new game every patch.

honestly supports were given everything I still remember release illiari and how the very deserved ult nerf made a huge amount of support players mad because "you can just go d.va"
It was deserved because if a D.VA can eat it, it'll be blocked by shields too. I would think some interactions tend to be consistent like Zarya ult, which is a projectile ball like Sun, is blocked by the same things. They just wanted another no skill ability because imagine having to actually plan where to launch the ult when you can fly around on top of that 😂
So stupid cus her ult wasn’t the only problem with her either. Her stupid pylon was busted too if I remember correctly

Even with the game being easier it's still not fun to play. Like if you don't play support you can't have fun and if you do play support you have entered the lottery on which team has the tank and dps they knows to not over commit until all the immos are triggered and on cooldown.
WHY IS NOBODY SAYING THAT DOUBLE SHIELD META WOULDN'T EXIST IN OW2 BECAUSE OF RAMM AND DOOM. At the beginning of double shield meta doom became meta because he was en counter for sig and his dmg could go through shields. Also illiari ults used to go through shield, that something else they could use against double shield so the double shield would have to actually execute instead of brain dead gameplay.
Is just amazed that each time they try to make huge changes like this, less and less they seemed to understand what make overwatch that hit.
People responsible to make those changes has no idea what they are doing, even bc none of them don't even seem play their game in the first place, it really just seems devs are guessing stuff since this game exist.
As much as it hurts to say, i think its time to just leave overwatch to die. There isnt much of the original, and there is not coming any good updates anytime soon, that was guaranteed by blizard when they made everyone more hp and bigger hitboxes :)

Honestly samito idk if u will see this comment but I really hope you do because as somebody who's been playing since beta and peaked 4414 (not saying that to brag or justify my point just pointing out I've obv played a lot) I think u really hit the nail on the head with this one. The game in its current state does NOT encourage creative angle taking or play making due to things that extend fights and allow people to kite things that shouldn't have been kitable (kiri cleanse and tp, soj slide, jq shout, ram block in nemesis form, bap immort, etc...). Overall with the way that season 9 is looking, I think this issue will only be exacerbated. Like u said in the video, I hope I'm wrong here, but idk.
