Why do you say Jeff has a huge range advantage on the flop? Doesn't the big blind have more hands with a J or T or more straight/flush draws? I always assumed middling cards favored the caller. Thanks.

Great question, Darth! You're absolutely right that the big blind has more nut hands so has a nut advantage, but then Jeff has lots of strong hands that the big blind doesn't and so he has an equity advantage (roughly 68% to 32%), which means he can/should bet close to 100% of the time for a small sizing. Jeff's draws and nut hands are generally stronger than the big blind's as well, so when lots of money goes in Jeff is likely to have the best of it way more often since his Jx hands have better kickers and more of his draws are to the nuts. Versus 1/3 pot sizing the big blind should continue with 75% of hands if we just focus on minimum defence frequency, but given the equity advantage that Jeff has here, the big blind is actually better off folding way more often. PIO suggests he folds 64% of his range actually, which means a flop cbet with range is just printing.

Have to say I like the video, especially how much thought there was into the hand and how diplomatic you guys were. Had I made a video on this it would be 10 seconds of me saying "SHOVE THE RIVER JEFF YOU FUCKING NIT"

Lol Jeff understands in the long run it's a bad check back and that's why he says he's dialed in...because he is dialed in. What separates a good player from a great player is the ability to identify when they are beat even if the odds are so astronomical. When the sb checks back river if jeff bets he has to call, and he didn't want to bet fold so he checked just in case an 8h was in his range. His range may consist of A8hh KQhh Q8hh and maybe like 86hh so there are plenty of combos that beat us, so I dont think the check back is terrible given that it's a 1 card to a straight flush.

I see what you are trying to say but by checking back here you are basically saying his entire range is 8xhh (or at least his x/calling range is 8xhh). Even shoving when you expect a fold is better than checking, as your opponent may spew call (as we should have bluffs on this river) and you don't show your hand so opponents are left guessing. The opponent is a reg, so for balance he won't just check 8xhh and nothing else, so this is an awful check that happened to be right.

@@Weazel1991 when you see as much volume of hands that I've had you'd realize that it's not an awful check. You have to think about what hands are calling you and you block the boat. Not saying a check here is profitable in the long run...but it is profitable right now because of a clear soul read/gut feeling. Cant count how many thousands I've lost with the second nuts because I bet and call it off.
