    Thanks for posing this video. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I love heat training natural hair. I even wrote a book about it. People are so afraid of using heat. My hair is heat trained and is so healthy. There is no need to relax in 2024.

      Although, I am a natural, I am not straight natural , but I would straighten it one a month in the winter and kinky in the summer.

      My hair is heat trained because i wear hijab and it is easier to wear it on straight hair than on a load of curls i would look like an alian😂😂😂

    I am here with you and you have my support. I am heat trained or straight natural. I blow dry every 2 weeks and get a silk press every 8 weeks. I'm so sick and tired of the curly girls thinking how hair is damaged because our texture is changing. BTW love your video❤

      It’s literally damage though. It might not be damaged enough to break off but any change to the structure of your hair is damage. Heat slowly destroys the natural bonds in your hair. If it works for you it’s fine though, it could be a controlled damage.

    Even though we say the hair is heat damaged, yours looks really healthy! Would love to see your regimen on how you take care of it. :)

      Thank you! I try to at least deep condition every month and I only apply heat once after the initial flat iron and that’s to curl it. I will definitely look into doing a regimen video. Thanks for watching !

      Because damaged hair is hair that is breaking, thinning, splitting and falling out. I think curl damage or curl loosening is a term that describes it better.

    So thick and beautiful! I'm all for natural options, sis. I just straightened mine today because it's winter where I live (SA) and I can't have a wet scalp in these streets.

    Ok, I totally agree that straight hair looks sleeker. I’m an African American, and I am am HR Manager, and I too love our natural coils/curls, but…. sometimes some of “Us” don’t properly maintain our natural curls, like I’ve literally seen ladies come to work with dry, brittle, matted hair, or individual plats/braids sticking up, or the same braided style in for like 3 months but crusty from product build-up etc…..

    I'm here as one of those maturals who would have come for you. However, unexpected health circumstances mean becoming a straight nstural is one of the only options for me going forward.
    It's easy to judge, and yet no one s hould have to justify something like this. There are more important things in life like good health! You look amazing!
    Wishing you good physical health and good hair health.

    Your hair looks great!😍 I just told my hairdresser that I love my hair straight haha! I’m rocking a side part right now and will eventually switch to a middle part🥰 I’ve been wearing my hair straight for 2 years now and it surprisingly isn’t heat damaged. I use flexi rods and only touch it up once a week! However, I’m not scared of heat damage either. I don’t wear my hair curly often anyways.

    • @mykeriazhana
      @mykeriazhana  8 місяців тому +15

      lol yup it definitely will. I live in the south as well but once you it straighten often, your ends will become heat trained and will remain intact. it’s the roots that will continue to frizz but nothing a hot comb couldnt fix

      @@mykeriazhana This is what i think about, especially in the warmer weather, or if I sweat, my roots will def poof, and I was thinking I'd have to either blow the roots or hot comb it to keep it straight in between silk presses.

    Does your hair shed a lot when straight? Mine does, why could that be😢? And don’t you oil your hair while straight? And how do you deal with dry scalp, my scalp tends to be extra dry when my hair is straight. I am natural, I have 4c.

    Do you loose less hair when your hair is straight? Like compared to the detangling natural hair on a regular basis or is shedding about the same?

  • @eduns123
    @eduns123 5 місяців тому

    Hiyaa,
    I can never seem to get my hair flat straight like yours, my hair seems to be flow everywhere and stick up.
    I wash with clarifying then moisture shampoo. I deep condition.
    Then i use a very small amount of the redken anti-break leave-in, colour wow dream coat (for humidity) and heat protectant, before blow out. Then chi silk when straightening.
    I even bought a new straightener, and the double sided boar brush 🥲
    I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any tips would to appreciated!
