A man burns his arm and has a case of dropsy with sockets going into oil.🥵I don't pretend to understand what you're doing apart from changing a timing chain etc. I 'm glad you know what you're doing.😁👍👍
I always remember my first job as a commercial mechanic in 1976 in the garage of a well known High St Newsagent/Book shop, It was pistons & liners on a Leyland 550 FG, one of my pet hates was putting the injection pump which was preloaded back into a 2 Litre Bedford CF (Opel Diesel) as it was so restricted as part in part out engine & if you wasn't careful & caught the bulk head lowering it in the preload would spring back & you'd have to start all over again, never did a timing chain on one as the engines wouldn't last that long, I think they were worse than the York Transit's as they only gave cold start problems!
I do love a bit of preventative maintenance!! Great videos as always Al!! Hope the arm is better, I’m guessing it was the Peugeot radiator kaboom incident.
Al,please get that burn covered up use sudocreme and a none adhesive dressing Mrs 6d will sort it keep it covered, back to the job in hand first class well covered maybe not in engine oil but well done on a job well done regards from Scotland 🎥⭐🇬🇧🏴
It makes the job easier with no cab on but haveing timeing chain instead of a belt burns are not great make sure you keep it clean I dropped a full kettle of boiling water all down my inside leg 12 months ago took weeks to heal and looks terrible now and the worse leg full of arthritis as well looks easier then the one I did on my transit bloody belt but you done plenty of them over the years so it's easy for you Al
‘Wife calls … works stops for two weeks…’
Great video Al love diesels and all that they ‘give’ ..
Great to watch a skilled technician at work was fudge asleep in camper van next to you lol
Standard engineering technique taught to me many years ago by my father, "hit it gently with a BIG HAMMER".

Another cracking vid. Missus calls and then it’s two weeks later…. Brilliant!
One job I'd hate to do. You make it look so easy. Also I was watching a Hubnut video and 6d diesels got a mention. Keep up the good work Al.
I think we have an incoming berlingo at some point 👍
Love Als old school approach. Remember if it doesn’t move with a hit of a 14 lb hammer then don’t force it !
A masterclass Al. I wouldn't know where to start.
Apart from having cuppa and a roll up first. 😁
Good to see your keeping your tools well oiled.... interesting as ever... video pops up just as I'm about to do something lol

Love your thorough process and knowledge gained through experience, so well explained😊
Excellent as usual al having done a few of those I appreciate all of the preventive maintenance going on something I’ve always done where possible
Love it! Wealth of knowledge !
Somehow, I knew you'd be a fellow opinel knife guy 😊
WOW what a job, great video
Excellent tutorial , bit of a bugger that I've sold my Iveco , but I'll know for next time
Nice work.
That looked like a complicated set up compared to most engines.
Awesome work as usual Al.Well done buddy.

All healed now you never know I did it 👍
Great video Al! Like the thumbnail picture!
Dropping stuff in oil is just a sudden act of tool rust protection, keeps it all nice and shiny, even if it's all slippery as heck as a result... :P
Great video Al
Clever man...nice one Al

I take it lubricating the 36mm socket and ratchet during the process in oil is optional?
Always recommend…😂😂😂
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Excellent Sunday morning viewing 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for great content. I think I'm right that this is the same engine F30DT that is in my Peugeot Boxer?
Yes indeed it is 👍
Another brilliant and interesting video has always al and fudgy 👍
need to do my toyota estima timing chain and head gasket but im not brave enough to even begin the job
Made that look easy
Love the content
How do you set the top tensioner is it just a case of taking old one out and fit the new one which will tension its self once fitted
It’s ratchet and set itself fella
@@6DDIESELSDorset thanks for the reply chap
👍
Ah Sunday so soon, thank gawd for 6 ds
Definitely worth doing the chains while it’s all in bits otherwise it would be like going to the toilet and not wiping your backside 😂
Looks a proper "nice" job 😢😂😂
A bit more complicated than a cambelt change.
Why are you talking about kilometers, aren't you in the UK?
All hgv vehicles have tachometers and record in kms 👍
How do you get top the top tensioner set can you just take it out and fit the new one and it sets its self?
