You are providing us with instruction on the ‘86-‘87 MORAD model that is the BEST I have found posted online, and with such professionalism and modesty. We (his peers) always knew that we were watching a Legacy, even at a young age. On this video day, Mac was so gracious to allow me “inside the ropes” to film with no hesitation. I went to a Morad school at Arcadia golf club in Los Angeles with my coach Ron Gring. This was December 1999 or December 2000. Amazing time seeing Mac swing in person. Lots of Seve film and stories. Your videos and coaching are top knotch. Please keep it up.
Great video. Always loved Gary Hallberg's action. My long time teacher (Carl Lohren) worked quite a bit with Gary when he first came out on Tour. I was lucky enough to see Mac play in person in New Orleans back in the day. His pre-round warm up was interesting. He only hit 3-irons off of a tee for his entire warm up. There were several Tour pros that interrupted his warm up to ask him questions about the Golfing Machine (Gil Morgan was one of them). I was impressed that - even though they interrupted him - he was very kind and patient with each one of them.
Yes I agree. Mac sometimes gets a bad rap, but he was always willing to help fellow players, discuss the swing and even give free lessons. He doesn’t get enough credit for his contributions to golf instruction.

Jack - shortly after Mac’s practice round, and my filming, I spent personal time with a young Mike Bender - who was a devoted student of MORAD at that time. Mike was also gracious in sharing with me Mac’s emphasis, at the time, of an early wrist cock hinge at P2. Mike had recently qualified as an all exempt PGA Tour Professional, but was obviously focused on learning as much as possible about MORAD for his eventual evolution to prominent swing instruction.

I am loving it more and more 👏👏 my game improved so significantly. Was shooting in the 7ties on a consistent basis now and come from hcp 13 last year. Especially my irons are great. Gone back to 4 and 3 irons and leaving my rescues at home. Had my longest drive last Sunday 250 Meter carry in total 265. I am 61 and never played as well. Not downhill, slight wind from the front. Thanks Kevin 👍 your videos finally improved my game significantly 🥂🥂🥂 looking now for bunker videos, still my weak part

Do you have any personal insights about how taller(like me) or shorter players might have to adjust for the early morad swing? maybe a new series with you showing your interpretation of how people new to morad might most easily progress? I keep coming back to your videos and also like the one Gary McCord video that seems quite famous.
It’s not just height, it’s proportion. Arm length, leg length and torso. To keep things in ideal proportion… Taller or shorter students would adjust the length of the clubs to suit address. But it’s somewhat subjective and case by case. Takes the eagle eye of the instructor or fitter.
One’s anatomy will dictate the address posture to a large degree, especially height to length of arms ratio. But closer to the ball with irons generally increases the angle of attack. Helps compression.
Point from an Aussie, Pampling's coach is Gary Edwin (Queensland); he has a stable of successful students with very distinctive swings; he teaches a right sided swing. Stuart Appleby and Allenby grew up 2000km south in the state of Victoria and have nothing to do with Edwin, they were coached by Steven Bann in Victoria. Some of Edwin's successful students include: Peter Lonard, Rod Pampling, Paul Gow, Anthony Painter and Gavin Coles, and more. Cheers
The Titleist Professional 100 was in my opinion the best wound ball every made. I found one in immaculate conditions a few years ago and the first shot I hit with it was the immediate "Wow" reaction.
i still have a sleeve of those in my stuff. i don't know what kind of shelf life but they should be hit, i have a set of mint persimmon woods and macgregor blades never been hit to go with them .@@admiraltamalak7559
Usually when the forearms rotate, the clubface opens and the wrists don’t hinge completely. Two big distance killers. Plus the timing of the re-rotation back to square. Jerry Kelly is a good example of a lot of forearm rotation. Obviously he can still play great.
@@kevinralbovsky4621 I played with Pampling a couple of times and he and all the other players Edwin coached were particularly long hitters… and a little known fact is that Gary Edwin was born Gary Player and later changed his name to Edwin when he got into golf 🤷♂️
I like the view of Mac hitting a 6 iron on a par 3 (Time 15.45) and Driver swing (Time: 20:05). His back hand/right grip does not look as strong as I expected in the early MORAD swing. Same thing when he was hitting a driver or what looks to be a 3 wood with today's technology. I expected to see early MORAD right hand grip to look like Bubba Watsons grip. Also, he has a lot of space between his elbows and chest. Both great visual examples of how to set up and move through the swing. Thanks for sharing.
Obviously you can swing in any style if you practice enough. Moe is literally picking the ball clean with a stiff arm method. He did it well in demonstration, but not quite in competition, nor did he hit it impressively far. Swing aesthetics not there. Mac’s geometry, power and balance were perfect. Mac knows anatomy better than many “experts”.

If I remember correctly it was Titleist Tour Balata 90. Mushy.
The Titleist Professional 100 was in my opinion the best wound ball every made. I found one in immaculate conditions a few years ago and the first shot I hit with it was the immediate "Wow" reaction.

How does eliminating forearm rotation effect distance ?
Usually when the forearms rotate, the clubface opens and the wrists don’t hinge completely. Two big distance killers. Plus the timing of the re-rotation back to square.

Mac’s right hand grip only 20 degrees turned right. Left hand 45 degrees.
