WHATS UP SIR MATTISFACTION, It's a shame that QC is not as thorough with production quantities. I think we all agree that the majority of companies need to do better. Sherif Manganas with Manganas Steel truly has set a new standard as far as I'm concerned when it comes to QC; he totally went above and beyond inspecting every knife with gloved hands. My Finch Hellfire was gritty and had lock-stick out of the box, had to disassemble and clean it to solve the problems just like you did with this Miguron. Everyone needs to do better as we should all expect better.
I've noticed that even my budget Migurons improve greatly after disassembly and cleaning. The preservative tends to collect more debris, but a bit of alcohol to clean it, followed by a lubricant of choice, mine is Lucas Blue, and it's night and day.
Matty, get yourself a box of alcohol wipes from the grocery store...its super cheap and you can just bust one out when you clean a knaf...like the single use ones for diabetics...a box of 100 is like 2$
