Thank you Alaska Granny for the explanation. I teach Girl Scouts how to build campfires and light matches. The strike on the boxes wears out so quickly with repeated strikes from newbies that I was looking for the alternative strike anywhere matches. I found a 3-pack of phosphorus sheets sold online that we'll stick to a piece of wood and use regular matches from now on. Thanks for the tip!

The green Diamond strike anywhere matches suck... hard to light, they keep tearing up the strike strip on the side of the box. Advise do not buy.
