I Like the simplicity and clarity of your instructions, also in your other videos. I am eager to put my hands on my "neglected" Tamborim an practice...
Hey the key here is tip on the 2nd stroke, not lifting the paquetta (stick0> Good job. Have been to Brazil many times and no one points this out. Fliping the tamborim to get the same rhythm used on Ganza, Pandiero.....is really hard to do and you do a good job explaining it.
I just bought a tamborim and a pandiero in a closeout sale, and didn't really know what they were. I'm a drummer, and recently getting interested in hand percussions instruments. Thanks for the basics. I'll start practicing slowly now :-)
Following your instruccions I've been able to play the pattern at the same speed as you (at the beginning of the video) in only 4 days :) Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
I'm sorry, I know it is not easy. This is hard working and a lot of practice..... But it is still fun to do! Well, I am glad that you like my video's!!
I was able to buy plastic rods in long sections from a plastic store. I then cut them down to size and used stick tape to make the handle. However, I would recommend just buying one with the weighted ends. I think they are easier to play with once you get the technique down.
It would be great if you could put a clip together that was just for practicing, a play along, that started at a reasonable speed and just got faster to the level which would be played in a bateria. I'd have the clip on repeat on my phone.
... but wasn't there something with finger pressure (from below) on the skin on stroke "1" for a sharp sound and release for a deeper sound on the other strokes?
@@MichaeldeMiranda I'm enjoying playing along to your videos everyday before work. really great! Love the 3 tamborims as well! and, special samba time triplets.
Hey I am a music teacher and find your videos very helpful for my samba class, thank you!

You can live in the Netherlands and still be Brazilian!
Okay, he was born in Aruba, but has a heart for Brazil. You're right Susy, he is amazing for a non-Brazilian!

seu método para ensinar Tamborim é diferente dos outros instrutores, mas eu acho seu método melhor para aprender.

Steven White Where do you get the proper ones with the weighted ends?

I don't know how to make them, but most Brazilian branches like, Gope, RMV, Luen ect. sell them.
