This scene parallels to the end scene in Jules special episode , how they quickly fixed things vs how rue walked away and didn’t let Jules hug her shows that rue is waking up and trying not to become dependent on Jules

Okay so hear me out but when Jules says to Rue, “I love you”, Rue’s reaction is very similar to the two seconds of nothing scene. In the two seconds of nothing scene Rue is at first completely empty and then gasps as she is woken up by her own heartbeat. In this scene Rue is overloaded with emotions by hearing Jules say I love you and starts panting as she says I love you back. Completely opposite feelings but directed in the exact same way. So impressed by this show 👏👏👏

It took a lot for Rue to be able to go over and express how she was feeling. And for her to hear Jules says she loves her???? You can just feel Rue's heart burst open as she says she loves Jules too and sighs! Perfect Acting scene!!!!!

I have BPD and when I first saw this scene, it resonated with me on a spiritual level, like the mannerisms and the speech when Rue is speaking to Jules. Sometimes I come back just to feel comforted that this is a universal experience
I have other diagnoses than BPD that give me a lot of the same volatile and intense emotions, including bipolar, and that’s exactly what I’m here for, too. To be comforted by watching someone else deal with this, too. ❤️

Can we talk about how Jules facial reaction after rue kissed her so on point body Language confusion everything on point hunter is amazing with her first role!
Some people say her best acting was when she was screaming at Fez to open the door . But to me this is the best acting from Zendaya in this show.
Both great scenes. I absolutely love this scene. For me, ep5 in season 2 where Rue is caught out and goes to town, verbally, on Jules....oooofff, that was some seriously grade A acting. Hurting the ones closest to you. Huge episode.

Love how this scene mirrors the ending scene in Jules's special episode.
Notice how in this episode the scene is darker and the colors are less vibrant. Yet in Jules’s special episode the color scheme is more bright and things stands out more. They definitely did that on purpose.
Yes and it's because in this scene it was from Rue's perspective.wich is darker becasuse rue was scared and stuff.. But in the the special episode it was from Jules's perspective wich is again difrent because just how Jules sayed * l wanet to kiss her back but l just froze* idk lol
