Stephen, you should check out induction stoves. The gas companies will love your stove joke, but electrifying heating, cooking and transportation is part of addressing climate pollution.
Yes, induction is superior to gas in almost every way. Once you go induction, you’ll never go back. The ONLY thing gas is better for is cooking with a round bottomed wok.
@@sevresblue - I have a gas stove now...and my child has asthma. Is it due to the stove? Who knows, but we know gas stoves make asthma more likely. I'm looking at induction cooktop stoves now. I've used them in other places. They work great with my iron griddles and skillets. I'll have to replace some of my pans (they don't hold a magnet, so they won't work on induction). Induction takes some getting used to, but there is no exhaust going into the living space and it is cheaper to use because it's more efficient. There's no fixing gas: the exhaust goes straight into the air from the burners or escapes out of the oven. You can improve matters with a fan and good air ventilation...but who cooks with the fan on all the time? It's loud.
I used to feel that way about gas stoves until I got an induction cooktop. You can raise and lower the temps as quickly as on a gas stovetop and coo up a storm.

@@svenvaltik5657 Your stove is broken. Some models have split induction coils and half the coil can go. I've never had any trouble with mine and as a former restaurant prep cook I feel that its much better than a commercial gas range.
I was forced to used an induction range when living overseas and it ended up being really good except you can’t move the pan around when cooking or else you risk scratching the glass surface. Glass is hard/strong but I still worry when I accidentally scraped the metal pots/pans against it. That said, I would probably trade my gas range for induction once the time comes but NOT the old electric style ever.
Yeah, I guess many US Americans having old electric ranges in mind, not state-of-the-art induction technology, is a problem^^ Induction is much safer in handling (no hot surface area) and the efficiency is 2-3 times higher than using natural gas.
There are thin heat-resistant silicone sheets made to be placed between the pans and the top of the induction range. There are no scratches on our induction cooktop.
I have an induction stove and there is no risk of scratching the glass. Maybe the stove you had was poor quality. Mine can even sense when I move the pan from one field to the other and offers to switch the setting to the other. Needless to say, I love induction stoves.
Great thing about that is you can - literally - put a cloth or strong paper towel under the pan to prevent scratching. Won't catch fire, won't impede the heat. :)
I got the old element stove with coils. Still the same coils since 1975. It works fine. It does not get that dirty. It just takes a little longer to clean.

Ceramic hob is also not bad. Fast, easy to control, easy to clean. And contrary to gas, there is no open fire. My mother's sweater cought fire from gas cooker once. Induction is more effective, but yoou can use all kinds of cookware on ceramic hob.
Electric stoves - induction or not - have gotten a lot better than they used to be in terms of temp control, and are much easier to keep clean. With the added factor of indoor air quality, the argument for gas has gotten a lot weaker.
I electrified the house. Induction cooktop, heat pump heat/cool, heat pump water heater and added solar. I forgot about the extra insulation I had added in my energy need calculations. The result is that I produced about 2 MWh more than I used last year. No complaints.

Since 13.9% of the US population identifies as black, the difference is very striking. The democratic party is clearly the best shot at meaningful representation for all, but we already knew that. E Pluribus Unum. Some folks don't want unity.

Induction stovetops are awesome and safer than electric. I was hesitant but love mine.
It wouldn't surprise me if Santos claims he survived stage four cancer. His lies keep getting more absurd.
Kinda like Al Gore inventing the internet.
He did claim he had a brain tumor and had radiation treatment. You can't make this stuff up!
@@terryvlunsford1610 IIRC, he essentially streamlined the internet for commercial use. It was essentially a tool used by the government (for prolly Cold War stuff) and certain universities for sharing research materials with other universities. My late father had access to both types when he was completing his PhD at UCSD and eventually landed a job at NOAA/NODC, being the old school computer nerd that he was. Since he essentially telecommuted, I wouldn't be surprised if my family was the first few to install internet capabilities in the mid to late 90s WAY BEFORE the pandemic forced everyone to do so.
So, no, Gore didn't invent the internet, but we owe it to him (and blame him) for having internet be a thing for us.

It has been forever since I have heard the term NOTAM. Where I worked we pronounced the word kind of like 'NO-tum' with the stress on the first sylable. The biggest issue from what I remember is not that the airport cannot communicate issues to aircraft or ground support, but that its considered the offical system so pilots and ground support personel heavily rely on it.
I have never have seen a better description of the NOTAM! Hahahahahahaha
We need an Inventing George. Somebody make it happen!!
George Santos has admitted that he’s the real Keyser Soze.
Without the sly intelligence, of course.
Keyser Söze called. He's sending Kobayashi to your place with an envelope.
so... we're pretty sure it's not him then?
Republicans should take him of the late night comedy committee
What about the real Shady?
Stephen, you should check out induction stoves. The gas companies will love your stove joke, but electrifying heating, cooking and transportation is part of addressing climate pollution.
Yes, induction is superior to gas in almost every way. Once you go induction, you’ll never go back. The ONLY thing gas is better for is cooking with a round bottomed wok.
THANKS
If you have EVER cooked on one of those, vs. gas..... you will know. Gas is superior. Let's just FIX the gas stoves.
It's loud.
@@Jonathan-px9oz - check out the Lodge Cast Iron 14" Wok (with built-in flat bottom). :)
I used to feel that way about gas stoves until I got an induction cooktop. You can raise and lower the temps as quickly as on a gas stovetop and coo up a storm.
I guess he uses gas stoves lmao. Not a damn think wrong electric.
@@robertnewhart3547 I've used all 2 and I agree with @Geraldine Clark Induction stoves are far superior to gas or old electric resistance stoves.
@@patrickcorcoran4828
Yep, way, way better. The smart ones will let you boost up to temperature quickly, then hold automatically. You can slide pans around and the heat setting will follow the pan.
@@robertnewhart3547 "I guess he uses gas stoves lmao. Not a damn think wrong electric" - It depends on the type. If you're talking about normal, resistance electric (what people think of when they hear "electric stove"), then yes, there absolutely *IS* something wrong with it. Aside from the safety issues, it's a massive waste of energy due to its horribly inefficient heat transfer.
To boot, induction is both kid and pet-safe. My cats often turn on my stove, but with nothing magnetic on it, it just turns itself off quietly. :)

Hell, we live in a world where Dr. Dre had to send a cease and desist letter to a member of Congress!
Wouldn't surprised if he is DB Cooper's son.
I still want confirmation he's even in the US legally. I has my doubts.
"At this point, I'm not even surprised if George Santos is actually D.B. Cooper because sure! Why the **** not" - The "why not" is because D.B. Cooper was smart. Immoral, but smart.
Way too young to be DB Cooper.
Omg I LOVE rug cleaning!!!! 😂😂😂😂

Get an induction stove. Only the pot gets hot. You can touch the cooktop surface immediately after removing the pot.
Exactly! Thanks for calling that out and suggesting. Induction stoves are the future!
No, you can't, and when it tries, the heat is so inconsistent, nothing cooks right...
@@svenvaltik5657 Your stove is broken. Some models have split induction coils and half the coil can go. I've never had any trouble with mine and as a former restaurant prep cook I feel that its much better than a commercial gas range.
Came here to say this. And it heats just as fast as a gas stove: instant. All of the benefits of gas and none of the drawbacks.
@@opsataa Disagree. My wok will never touch a primitive induction.
Hilarious as always Stephen. Last ham cube... 🤣
I love the captions Steve gives to pictures of people "last ham in the refrigerator section"
Stephen! I cannot believe you forgot off-white, ivory, cream, and dirty socks.
Coconut also would have been good.

I just want to direct Stephen's writers/research team to induction stoves. Technically 'electric' by way more convenient, responsive, safe and easy to clean. You can make all your favorite meals on them 😚👌
No hate, cook the way you want, but just know that gas really isn't the only option.
Induction also heats faster and is more energy efficient.
That whole anti-electric stove rant felt so out of place, tbh. Reminds me of that time he started shilling NFTs after spending several weeks mocking them.
The only hazard NOTAM doesn't warn you about is it's own existence.
The only hazard you didn't warn us about is that you don't know the difference between "its" and "it's".
