Today I wash a sxs and some nasty garage doors. Lets test out the new DeWalt cordless power washer

I’ve been happy with dewalt over the years but just got this product and it’s going back tomorrow! Actually makes my hose less powerful!

Yes great concept and I’m hoping I can come up with some uses for it. The only thing that concerns me on flex foot would be the weight if you was using it for a long period.

For the convenience I think it would be great! Battery powered won't hold a candle to a 3500 psi and 4 gpm gas unit but very handy for remote cleaning. I have another brand that is 330 psi and I like it for camping. Cleans good and my thought is for fire suppression also. Headed to town to get one right now!

Thanks for the vid. In summary, it works great to clean off thin layers of stuff on walkways and siding, what a garden hose would not clean. It cannot effectively clean caked on mud, probably the biggest reason is the low flow more than low pressure. Its good for the things it CAN do and that's still a good number of things. It's still in the running for me.
Just ordered one of these yesterday. I live in a rural area with well water. Even with a softener, I get terrible water spotting, when washing car. I specifically got this to rinse my car with distilled water from a bucket. This portable power cleaner was never meant to replace a pressure washer. As long as you have a specific use case for it, I bet you'll be happy with it.

I just bought this a couple weeks ago. I was having low pressure amd water leaking in the same spot. I had to really push the connections together hard until it clicked tight. After that it worked beautifully. Even pressure washed my shower i was having so much fun. I havemt tried the turbo nozzle yet, but i did hear the turbo nozzle doesnt work too well on this washer
I saw an aftermarket soaper work really well on a UA-cam video with that DeWalt.
I bought one and I haven’t been blown away either. I’ll keep it for the convenience but I’ve lowered my expectations. I almost wished they would’ve just skipped this and went with the 60v to make a more impressive tool.

It won't replace the normal pressure washer, but I can see it having usefulness in some specific situations like the one you demonstrated on your garage doors.

It’s great for lite duty jobs
Glad I kept watching, I was about to just close the tab. I think everyone agrees it just sucked on the "side by side", did nice on the paver or concrete although wouldn't be good enough for a sidewalk. BUT! I was finally impressed at how it got the algae; or whatever, off the garage door. I 'spect it might be great for that and siding. I was ready to scrap the idea of this thing but may have second thoughts. Would probably do good on vinyl shutters too.
It has its uses, I bought the applicator from slick products that put soap out for washing SxS. Works good for that.
I was seriously planning on having me one of these but I'm so glad I watched your video !
Was truly disappointed at how little that swirly tip actually put out , kinda reminds me of first thing in the morning when my tip is stuck together..

I got my first portable battery pressure washer No name brand off amazon $60 bucks came with 2 batt did 5 made my money back plus extra 1st day .but i figured dewalt would be great
First off, all you guys referring too it as a "pressure" washer have too high of expectations for it. Even DeWalt refers too it as a "power" washer. Sure its not going too compare too a gas or big electric pressure washer, but i like mine too throw in the RV especially when intravel down too the Az. desert for winter. Its great for rinsing off the truck, bike, awning etc from the desert sand and dust. I already have batteries from other tools i carry so the convenience of it is awesome. I use a 7 gal. water jug i carry an even if a hose spigot isnt available, im good too go. Suits my needs just fine. I do have a more powerful electric "pressure" washer at home for the bigger jobs if i want too drag out the cords an hose, but like he said, this is ideal for quicker, smaller jobs.👍

Could anyone who has this power washer tell me which is the most powerful nozzle? I want the washer to strip paint off of an old building that I painted at least 20 years ago and not sure which nozzle I should use to do that. I probably shouldn't be using it at all actually but I don't think it will get done if I don't personally do it. I actually just bought this washer about a week ago and am having trouble with using it because of a problem I have with my arms. I guess I thought it had a little gadget on it like my Dewalt backpack sprayer does so that I don't have to keep holding down the trigger. I'm not young and it about kills my arms having to do that. I'm afraid if I get a gas operated sprayer that I might accidentally ruin it. I'm not good at trying to figure out directions and the one that comes with this power washer does not impress me.
I think if you are someplace you do not have a water source, you can take a 5 gallon pail full of hot water, it would be useful.
But, if you have to hook up a garden hose…. Is it more powerful, than a garden hose with a good tip!?

That "key" you saw is for cleaning out that turbo tip that wasn't working right. But that didn't seem to work as well as the orange tip but you got hung up on the name and wouldn't go back to it

Would be great for washing my white vinyl fencing that the hose can’t reach.
I think that if had been pre-soaked it with a garden hose and nozzle it would have worked better.much more volume of water out of the garden hose for soaking and then peel it off with the pressure washer
Hope all is well David. I think 550psi is too small to handle the mud on our vehicle but looks great for small jobs.

That turbo tip as you call it is for use on patios / concrete , not paintwork 😂
I was looking for something to wash the bug butts off of the front of my RV while camping in the middle of nowhere or just before entering a paid campsite. Spray off the loose bugs. Use brush with soap to scrub. Then use this to rinse. Thx for saving my money.
It would probably work for that the rinsing, and if you do the scrubbing by hand with a brush.
Yeah definitely expected alot from 550 psi... when a normal set up is 3000 psi... this would be amazing at the job site like it was made for.. cleaning off tools and what not

Poor gramps never used a power washer in his life he just washing here and there 😂
Definitely not as strong as a gas or electric, but it's actually the best in its class right now. It'd be perfect for anyone not wanting to drag out the big pressure washer or for people like me who's had some horrible surgeries and are unable to lift or handle anything even a little bit heavy. Mine should be here in a few weeks since it's on backorder.

Might of missed it but how long does that battery last? I think it would be perfect for our fleet of trucks for a quick wash but wondering how long it will last.
I didn’t say in the video how long it lasted, i ran the battery down washing on the SxS. I did not run a timer on it.

Really you just wanna have some extra batteries on standby. more convenient than most things as long as you can swap batteries quick

I just saw your channel and I was thinking about buying one of these sprayers only to take with us when we ride the trails. It appears that its not any better than a garden hose. Am I seeing this right? I have a 3500 psi gas engine powered. I was thinking about this for cleaning the windows while out riding. Would it work for a window cleaner while out on the trails?
Yes it’s good for small jobs such as that but trying to wash a hole machine as muddy as mine and had dried on there is to much to ask for that washer.
In thinking it would have done better on your buggy if it wasnt caked on for 3 weeks. (Im guilty of that myself) The fast set up makes it interesting. Quicker than a bigger washer and better than just a water hose. Im heavily invested in the dewalt platform. Think I will order me one. I think $150 is worth tge gamble. Thanks for the videos!

Everyone saying it won't replace gas or a plug in don't understand that you are paying for the convenience and portability. Besides that buggys pretty dirty and a quick spray of snow foam would have let that thing get it clean
If you put the hose in a bucket of soapy water, might cut through the grime a little easier. Also, i think this isn’t the intended purpose. It’s more for people with little water access
Instructions say do NOT draw soapy water or cleaners through it (mabye damages the pump?) but you do have that soap dispenser to be used on the outlet.

This would be great for fishing day out on the boat to wash off the deck just using lake water. But for washing your car at home.. stick to your gas pressure washer.

I’m hoping I have better results when it gets warmer, that plastic piece that the garden hose screws onto kinda concerns me but that hose was cold snd stiff, when I hooked the siphon hose up it didn’t leak. Thanks for commenting

I ordered tool only and bought my own batteries. I have 5-12ah then if i use them up and there charging i have 6-9ah to then put on an about 7= 6-ah all flex volt batteries. I have the new Milwaukee packable power station ordered. I’m addicted to battery power.

I bought this thing for small jobs and to keep from lugging out my big pressure washer. The performance was inconsistent. It would spray, stream, spit. Before I go on a long rant. Let me just say it's not worth the price point. 60-80 maybe but 150-200 for a cordless water hose is a bit steep. I will be returning mine.
I think DeWalt flubbed this one!! I’m hoping i can find some uses for it this spring and summer.

It is a easy quick setup, I was a little disappointed when I was washing the SxS but after I used it on doors I’m like it has its place and jobs that it will be great for!!

so this is not a pressure washer. it is for light duty with a bucket when out and about. yes you get better pressure on the house hose. if you want a pressure washer it should start at 1600 psi not 500.
maybe drink a 6 pack of beer and let nature do the rest! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@DavidFDay I’m mainly going to use it for washing my car or my tools.
I usually use my hand truck indoors but used it a couple days ago to move a fire pit for a friend. The grass was muddy and it got all stuck in the wheels and everything.
Was super easy to wash that mud off the handtruck yesterday using the power cleaner. Probably would’ve had to use the hose inefficiently otherwise.
Like any pressure washer's, you have to get the air out.
I respect that you un-box it not knowing anything about it - raw honest INITIAL impressions. And they ARE correct. BUT -- geeze man - you were sucking AIR for more than the 1st half !! Etc. The turbo-tip -- IS poor quality - but good ones cost 30-40 dollars and want 800 psi 3000+ ….. I understand your dissatisfaction with it buddy but - imagine using a 357 magnum with 38 target loads - y’hear ?! Between what you don’t know AND what Dewalt doesn’t say the perception that it is junk is understandable but it’s got 1 🖐 tied-behind-it’s-back. And yes - the water connections are bad - true. Duuude … the tool itself is maybe C- out-of-the-box but actually a B.
It's good for car washing and that's about it.
Yes that’s correct. I’ve gotten back into mountain biking and it good for washing the bike off. Not to much power to push water into bearings.

I was hoping for a more portable power washer, but this doesn't look that effective. Maybe I'll wait for a version of two later, perhaps as a way to clean something with minimal water used compared to a normal hose. Its just way expensive for what it is.

Looks like you can get more pressure from a regular garden hose and sprayer or Super Soaker water gun. Doesn’t seem like it’s worth the purchase.
Easily works better then a garden hose, it's not meant to take off 3 week caked on mud

If you use the foam cannon it comes with first, you would have better results
It doesn’t have the power to wash the SxS, other applications foam canon will work but not on SxS
before using a tool you should tighten fittings and read how to use it to get best results just a thought

I bought one of these and ended up taking it back the next day. It was a total piece of garbage. I could have spit water with more pressure. Better off just using a hose.

Look like leaks like crazy from connection
I just had trouble getting it tight enough. When I put the connection on for the hose that siphons from a bucket didn’t seem to leak has bad. I think it’s because that connection for a garden hose is plastic and the weight of the hose is a strain on the connection. I said at the beginning of the video that plastic connection for a garden hose concerned me.

It'd work better if you wet the mud on the vehicle first and crack a beer and let it set a bit to loosen up 3 week old encrusted mud..
There are just some tools that the big brands shouldn't make or sell, this is one of them it seems like. The effort to setup and the cheap build quality, probably just better off with a small cheap power washer.
And what if your not close to an outlet?

$150, Residential 550 psi BATTERY POWERED Pressure washer that ONLY puts out 1GPM, I think for the price, quality, and for what it was meant for, the thing is a champ, what other brand can beat that for what it is and for the price?????? Any other brand, 3 or 4 pieces and you need house power. Unless Milwaukee whips one out of their ass, no one is touching this unit right now.

You would do 100 better if you "wet" the whole thing down soap and water, let set for 10 minutes. Then the mud will fly off with the power wash.
Not a sell, how about a return.
This tool seems like an option if you needed to clean something out in the woods with a 5 gallon bucket as the water source, it would be nice. Maybe like cleaning a tombstone with no water hookup around or use in a remote camp. But for home use, just using the hose seems like a better option.

I took off that dumb battery housing. It's fine, think about it you would get more water in the motor before the battery, so it's not necessary to have and now I can also see my battery life now too.

I appreciate the attempt to go green, but we certainly are not there yet. This thing is not effective for dirt that is caked or dried on. It’s good for a regular car wash. The fittings are cheap and plastic. Go GAS!
