Somehow I’d not heard of JJ and Mofro. We live in S FL. I found this band on youtube last month and have been listening ever since. Crazy sound and blending of styles. Southern Funk Blues Rock is what I call it. JJ’s voice is powerful and gritty and smooth when he wants it to be. I’ve got Lochloosa on my mind during a pandemic.
@@mauallen4234 we're in alabama. A good friend in L.a (lower Alabama). Introduced of Mofro. Then I found out that my son knew him , he's got pics of him and jj. My son has seen them in concert a CPL of times
Met him 1996. I used to record his 2nd band Alma Zuma. I know him very well. Very smart guy. Reads all the time. When I heard him sing, I quit singing for 2 years cause I figured it was waste of time anymore.He taught me a lot about vibe. WILL TALK YOUR EAR OFF. I still have some old recordings and vids I should post. But he would kill me.
Time mark 1:50 This song is a tribute to my Grand Ma. I hear cracka" so much I had no idea what it meant. I doubt many of those who use the term know either.
Jj grey rock no matter who he plays with. I saw him in pompano beach florida barely anyone was there and that show rocked. He plays at the wanee music festival almost every year. Right near grandes de where he grew up awesome
@futbolachievements Yes they Are I saw JJ Grey in 2005 not the first time but I saw him at Waka and got my picture with him and then Last year he came to KC and I got him to sign it they are sooooooo amazing
In 2005 the organist was the Bassist. Left handing it. Nowadays they can afford a real bassist. The guy sitting on the chair was the second guitarist, Darryl Hance. They have since split ways.
Before Lochloosa was worked on and released there was a guy named Jason Asbury that worked on the drum kit . Look into what you think you might no a little more before you repeat what you thought you saw on wikipedia. Or better yet head on down to his shop and pop your head in. You might be a bit suprised with what you don't really know. " I mean it mattered enough to you to comment on here callin me a liar"
this is when JJ Grey was at his best. he got bigger...Mofro got bigger etc. He should fire half the band and get back to this simpler/dirty sound. The Lochloosa sound.
Their bassist cracks me up every time I go and see them, guy just sits there the whole time. Don't make the mistake of talking shit to him, like some dumb bitch in the audience, he stopped the show and tried to give her the guitar to play lol. The moral of this story is JJ Grey and Mofro are amazing.
@psh3200 FUCK YEAH HOMIE. JUST WHAT I WAS THINKING BEFORE I READ THAT. YOU KNOW WHATS UP BRO, I WISH YOU WERE HERE ID SHARE ALL MY WHISKEY WITH YOU AND SMOKE A BOWL.

Kenny Powers forgotten band.
Jimmy cracked the corn, his brother Johnny was on the heroin slide....
❤💋😘
@govtmule13 feel you brother.
@westhofer8 who's the guy behind the kit in this vid?
Is that Stanton Moore on the drums? Adam Scone is playing bass with his feet.
+Michael Hawn George Sluppick on drums. And yes Scone has Hammond bass pedals on this set up. It all depended on what he was using at the time.
because having kids makes you slow down a bit and reflect on things, that's all..
jax beach every new years
Where's the bassist?
Mofro never had a drummer named Jay bro. first it was this black dude from Africa and then they got their current drummer. That's it.
Nothin wrong with that!
@urbansouldevice you and every chick...
Your right . Sorry bro. I did speak too soon. Your right. Sorry.
