That's the Assured part of Mutually Assured Destruction. The doctrine literally doesn't work without it. That said, there are probably systems that could hit *most* of the warheads, but most just doesn't cut it when it comes to nuclear weapons
It really boils down to getting lucky. Like the Carolinas for instance. Coulda been rping a fallout server over there but no they just had to max their luck stat.
@@candiman4243to be honest, under what has been shared with us the people, it's really only assumed we could stop some, not even most. Just between the number of individual warheads and the chaff and other countermeas. If nuclear war starts, the only thing that will stop it is when they detonate.
The answer to your question about “countering” MIRVs today is - your supposed to shoot the vehicle down earlier in the flight phase. Your screwed once it separates into the MIRVs. You can hit individual warheads, sure, but what’s that going to matter if you don’t have many shots at the MIRVs. Some of the Larger soviet ICBMs (RS-36 for example) could throw like 8-40 MIRVs and like 100 decoys depending on configuration. Shits scary.
As a tip, cuz you asked about countering mega-MIRVs (even IRL): One of the IRL Ideas was Nuclear ABMs and SAMs, which IIRC are also in this mod if it's Omnicide. If it's not Omnicide I know it's in one or two of the other big ICBM mods. Essentially exactly what they say, a single nuclear ABM usually takes out every MIRV on one go. Generally though that's it. Even with Nuclear ABMs that's why MAD works nowadays still. It's not the sheer number of warheads (though that's part of it) it's also that you physically cannot stop every nuclear projectile hurdling towards you. There is no system on earth that could. And there most likely never will be, because keeping that many ABM and LRSAM systems operational would be insanely expensive
The actual agricultural and economic area is about 3 mln sq.k same as Argentina or India for example. 11.500.000 sq. km from 17.125.000 is 'polar' or 'polar-equal' regions with subsidies to live in.
@@OlafJorigson It is in our hemisphere, by right Greenland belongs to the American Republic. It is the shield of North America from the chaos and predations of Eurasia, the Danes will hand it over or suffer the consequences.
"Once you get the actual MIRVs man, holy shit. How are you even supposed to counter this IRL, because I assume this is what we have nowadays right?" Correct, and as far as how you counter them, that's the neat part. You don't.
You know bo, you should try playing manhunt HOI4, make a group download a unsuspecting mod and have them all buildup to destroy you, but the mod has a secret function that everyone can do to make them very OP(infinite soft attack or speed or arms or production), it could be a secret chain of decisions that trigger it or a province you must hold. But if the hunters don’t figure it out, they’ll be beaten by you, but if they do, they can use the mod as well to fight you
