Papa Liliac Interview

Being a father, brings with it many other titles than just “parent”. Counselor, chauffeur, protector…to name a few. But how many times is a father also their child’s manager, producer and sound engineer? How about all 5 of your children? Well, that’s a big part of who Florin Cristea, aka Papa Liliac, is to his 5 children. Together, Samuel, Abigail, Melody, Ethan and Justin (all siblings!) form the rock band, Liliac. Had the chance to meet PAPA LILIAC on 10/27 22 at Woodstock Ga. I let him know, I had been following the band sense the Santa Monica days. He was so appreciative. I told him what a Great job he has done with the band.....Got the Horns. and a Hug!

In knowing Florin I have seen how amazing he is with his children I only wish I had half the father figure that Florin is. He's so dedicated, loving and as far as work he is one of the most hard working people I have ever seen in the industry . Mama Liliac is such a kind loving soul as well. This family has been blessed with love, hard work and dedication. If you're a dedicated fan they make you a part of the family. This family is doing what they are meant to do. Home schooling is a big reason for the family being close. We home schooled our three. They never were taught by their piers that is was cool to not like your siblings. A lot of friction between my family members was directly attributed to the bad things we were taught in school.
Now the important part. LILIAC ROCKS! The whole band preforms with confidence and professionalism. They all put in the hard work to become more and more proficient with their instruments. Melodia has the vocals and abilities as a front woman to be one of the greatest female singers in rock.
The world isn't ready for this Melody!

I met Florin & the band in Crowley, La. at Sam’s Place last night! Incredible show & gracious family. What an incredible life story! I rode the train thru Romania in 1976 and was surprised to see men on the train with machine guns! I was 17 and it was a culture shock! Papa Liliac you are an inspiration and I’m glad you are FREE! Waiting 3 months and driving from New Orleans to Crowley was well worth it! The family blew me away! Thanks for stopping and taking the time to speak with me last night! Your life story would make a cool documentary! Tell the family how much I loved the show! I started going out to see Live music again after recovering from my 3rd stroke & loads of physical therapy. Last night was like icing on a cake! Thank ya’ll!

Rob Halford (Judas Priest) posted a video of him giving them words of encouragement and Melody has interviewed Lzzy Hale (Halestorm).

And now with your first international India tour ( Wich was fantastic) completed , I'm sure your aware of just how crazy things will probably become! And again, your knowledge, wisdom , will keep the Brand pointed in the best direction! I'm totally thrilled to see how far and how fast your successes have come about ! Melody has also played with Vinny Appice (Dio/Black Sabbath), Michael Angelo Batio, MAB (Nitro), Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Dio) Brad Gillis (Nightranger), Mike Reno (Loverboy), Philip Shouse (Accept).
Also, Michael Angelo Batio aka MAB whom Melody Cristea of Liliac has played with was announced recently as the new guitarist for Manowar.
