According to the owner of the company I work for, this single quarter has been more profitable than the last 6 combined, all thanks to "inflation." Which is to say, he heard there was inflation and jacked our prices by 25%, then blamed inflation. I have to assume this is not uncommon.

Pharmacy technicians have been long understaffed and overstressed. I’m glad somebody is finally bringing this issue to light. It’s definitely not new, and it definitely did not start in the pandemic.

I don’t really care if my Big Mac is cold, nobody will die like I will when the insulin that you mistakenly said was that in stock actually isn’t.
Our local Pharmacy is always is very busy and they sometimes have three people off to the side of their small room filling precriptions and two people taking care of the check out desk and the register and the drive up customer and answering questions and stuffing bags with people's medicine and taking money. These people really earn their money and you can tell at the end of the day the women's hair is hanging all raggedy and the men are looking worn out from pounding on a computer all day and also answering questions... It's a madhouse.!!!!

LMAO!!! Raising the minimum to15.00/hr starting wages for pharmacy techs!!! Greeters at Walmart in Oregon starts at $16.00/hr. I don't want my pills filled by someone getting paid less than a greeter. No offense to Greeters, just incorrect dosages and counts on medications can really hurt someone.
How about $12 an hour to take care of grandma? Aids in nursing homes are paid less than fast food workers.
Up the wages, increase the benefits...no more labor shortages. Workers of the world unite.

Why don't the returns be given to charities or church's instead of the landfills? Also, most ppl given a gift are also too choosy, I don't give material gifts, I usually buy and cook the food outside, it's usually warm in the Southwest during the Holidays.
I've never understood this. Good items, usable items are just thrown away. I worked for a retailer and their "display" items are thrown away. Good usable items that could benefit a housing charity just tossed.

As a healthcare worker I can say my hospital is telling us to basically come in sick. On top of that they do not provide testing for their employees. We were also given a $5 crisis pay increase for only 3 months and then that was take away, while working the entire pandemic. This right here is why healthcare including myself are quitting, it has nothing to do with the fear of COVID.
That woman that hit the man inside the airline should be banned from flying for life. There is no place for that reckless behavior in America

Also if your behavior causes the flight to land or divert the FAA has been handing out fines, the average amount lately has been $40000.

Covid is like an ongoing soap opera that we can't seem to stop watching..
And it will keep going on due to mutations from countries that aren't vaccinated or don't implement distance guidelines/ or mask mandates to stop the spread. I remember being actually scared for my family a few months back .. for months just one day at a time .. things were nuts and I guess still are but all I can control is how I respond to anything that comes my way .. production of 200-500 M tests a month will not solve anything. We're 330 M, and half the population will be testing at least once a week, especially since many of us are back to work in person . The incompetence and complacency has not limits. My heart goes to health care workers. The CDC has abandoned them...
330 million people 23% is minors who would not need to be tested weekly and 16.5 is retired that's not counting the unemployed and those who either work from home or are a student .. if we produced 500million a month that would fill our need that is the top of what was said and is a stretch. As a person who works in healthcare and is around this everyday I work I wouldn't say the cdc abandoned us or let us down we have already been working while isolating at work after 5 days in the hospital i work in. we are all vaccinated as we should be the people who have abandoned the healthcare workers are those who have not been vaccinated and care not about anyone's health.

@@dmp1962 I dont know how that could be possible we dont have a universal healthcare system but we do have a healthcare system and it is illegal for any hospital to turn a sick individual away.. we also do have free healthcare for anyone with low or no income . All you hot to do is fill out all the paper work .. we do most definitely have a greater success rate than Europe in almost every category from cancer to heart disease and other basic treatment and we also have a fraction of the wait time for these procedures
Isolating for 5 days will cause detrimental effects. Fevers and symptoms play into contagiousness for the spread. The short change is due to the CDC having no answer to the great and rapid influx. Even the quarantine for bronchitis is longer.

What cvs isn't telling you is that yes the minimum wage was increased for beginner techs but the techs that have worked there for a decade got pennies. So now there are new hires that are litterally making a dollar less than them. Oh and then not even trying the new people either so they are nothing but cashier's or pill counters.

The story about the unwanted Christmas gifts: I hope people watching this will reconsider buying gifts for loved ones and instead give the gift of time together. Our family gives gift certificates: either from stores or home-made ones that say "Good for one dinner at the restaurant of your choice" or "Good for two hours of yardwork." The amount of waste is just an abomination!

Keeping healthy is key, but do you or they know how if they aren't being told how? Of course, we could also have people who don't want to change what they eat or if they exercise or not.
MISTAKES in pharmacy: way under-paid, little knowledge of medications and interactions, patient allergies and medication interactions, constantly rotating out-of-date meds and cleaning shelves, adding drug to counting bins, keeping an eye on burned-out pharmacists, sterilizing everything, checking in meds from wholesaler. I could go on and on. Corporate pharmacies start people who want to transition from the front-end at $9.00/hr to 12.00-13.00 dollars/hr of the store in the pharmacy. They have 1 year to test and pass a certification exam. Often they are given more time by the corporation, who often have their own certification-lite exam. They know squat about pharmacy. Check your meds!

Many labs won't test for variants so you don't know which type you have unless you're in the hospital. I just had covid last week and stayed in quarantine for 12 days.
UTSW report I read on Dec 22 showed for North Texas region that 90% of the sequences were coming back as Omicron already.
Remember 2 weeks ago: "What ever Omicron will through at us, we are more than ready with xyz. " See the result.
Do exverything except mask mandate of KN95. Until we have a KN95 mask mandate, you can change the guideline, put many boosters on top of the other, it won't go away.

Idiots driving in the snow like they are driving in bright sunshine. It is important that everyone knows how to drive in snow because I don’t want to get hit by idiots even I do everything right.
Let me tell you your speed: you are going 10-20mph BELOW the limit, not over the limit. You are also not tailgating a car in front of you, leave at least 3 car lengths of space between you unless you waiting at the light. Lastly, don’t ever slam on the brake or you WILL FLY out of the road, you need to take your time and slowly and lightly tap your brake to a halt.
Best snow-driving advice I was given when I started driving in CO over 30 years ago was "go slow". Knock on wood, I've never hit another car or another thing while driving in the snow due to this simple and imperative driving advice.

My husband and I bought our own gifts 3 weeks before Christmas and "opened" them as they arrived, gift-wrapped in Amazon boxes. We, of course, got exactly what we wanted, no returns or disappointments. We threw cash at our late teen/early 20's kids...no shipping, no returns and everyone's happy.

To me it seems like the CDC want to change the facts to fit the situation rather than doing the responsible thing and keeping information based in reality.
I can only imagine the workload at the pharmacies considering Covid and it's called and flu season.
Why, as a HUGE corporation, can you not manage to upload on an even remotely regular basis?
The CDC should not relax procedures for combating coronavirus for those inconvenienced by them. If it calls for shutting down the country to protect public health, then, it should be done. Otherwise we may be faced with and suffer an ever evolving contagion. Then human survival may depend on robotics.
This is the same information we get every single day! Honestly people who are unvaccinated by choice for no medical reason who are hospitalized should not be covered by insurance. That’s it. Byeee 👏
I made more at Mickey Ds than being a pharm tech. Was cursed at left and right for things I was not responsible for and the workload is insane for understaffed places. Felt good to walk out!
I'm here commenting on the "Nightly News Full Broadcast Dec. 27" because even though it's 11:15 pm Central on Dec. 28, there is no "Nightly News Full Broadcast Dec. 28" posted yet. I wonder why? Some days the episode for the night gets posted around 9:30 pm. Other days, it's not available until much later. I wish I could figure out a schedule for this news report to drop.
