    Not cruel or unusual. It isn't racist because if more offenders are of one minority, then more of them are going to get the death penalty...

    How can the death penalty be ineffective? Once imposed and carried out, the offender does not offend again.

      it doesn't help the crime rate and it costs a lot of money

      ldeniro Like most things the government does, they do this poorly. 47 appeals when the guy was seen on tape killing or raping does not warrant an appeal of any kind. Set the date of execution for nor more than 30 days from the date of conviction and then just do it. Bullet, noose or that drug they put your dog down with, it really does not matter... And yes, it does help the crime rate.

      How about the moral issue? How about all the people who have been on death row and then released because of new dna evidence? Can you imagine being executed for a crime you did not commit? Because it happens all the time. For me, one of those lives is worth changing our law. What does it matter if someone gets life without parole or death? Their life is over either way. To me the death penalty is as outdated as torture. I don't believe civilized societies should practice it. There is no reason for it.
