One of the highlights of the year when I was a kid. Though I can't say I ever enjoyed the car ride there and back! What a privilege to have been able to see so many amazing aircraft in action. Thanks for posting
Well done Jim ! I think I was there too...........Rockwell B1B and the faithful F4 Phantom with those clouds of black trailing behind ! Memories.......
Went to St Andrews a couple of years ago one Sunday afternoon never expecting to see anything flying at Leuchars. Not only was it a Sunday but Leuchars is essentially an Army base now and only a diversion airfield for Lossiemouth. Amazed to see a B1 doing circuits for about 40 mins! Great airshow memories.
Great memories seeing this! Was this the show where the Italian display team (the Tricolore i think?) got in trouble for flying over the crowdline? Im sure there was 3 display teams at this show? The Arrows, The Patrouille de France and the Tricolore. Maybe im getting my years mixed up lol but i was at this show. Sad day when leuchars ceased operations and gave the site over to the army.
I was there. I was ground Crew at Leuchars. I marshaled many of those aircraft into their slots for all the visitors to see. I remember marshaling in the B1 the day they arrived. Good times

Thanks for this, I went every year and I was 14 at this one. B1 became my favourite aircraft after getting up close to it.
