    We had quotes for: concreting a yard, re-roofing 96sqm barn and putting solar in it. We've pulled all, until we know where we stand. We're not going to invest when we don't know where we are likely to be in 6 months time, let alone 3 years time..

    Great update, as always! Very good news about the open day and great to hear you get out into the community to local schools and such on the run up to Christmas!
    The work the council has done regarding the drainage is just unbelievable. Look at the state of that asphalt they’ve laid over the pipe across the road, it’s already settled below the height of the road surface, that will be a large, very dangerous pot-hole within no time at all, requiring yet more intervention, public funds and of course the inevitable disruption. Fighting an uphill battle with councils from the get-go!

    … we sell off grid, networked CCTV cameras … put a couple of them in front of the containers and you’d get some great footage. Would be worth putting a few of our off-grid, networked cameras in at strategic parts round the farms … The insurance cost savings would probably cover the cost of the units …

    Very interesting James. I do wonder if the government thought the budget through, im not talking about the API, im talking about the employers NI first and foremost. Spaldings as an example, 270k increase, they're not going to take that on the chin, as with probably most employers, the added cost will be passed on to their consumers, who in turn will pass it on.
    Ultimately the people that will bare the cost of this increase, will be Joe public in whatever product they are purchasing. This will put the prices up for most things that we all consume, purchase daily and the worst of those to be affected will be the poorest of society as they are already struggling to bare the burden.

      Farmers can’t pass it on, world market

      @richarddavey7884 Годину тому

      @PX_Farms I appreciate that James and I do feel for you and support the farmers.
      Mine was a blanket statement. Everyone will be affected by this budget but most don't know it yet mate. Come April when the NI etc kicks in, products will start increasing in price, a few pence here and there.
      I'd love to be your way next summer for the open day and to shake your hand.
      Although I'm not a farmer, my ancestors were and I was raised in south lincs.

    That drain should be over 1m deep in a carriageway as trafick will squash that due to it only being 300mm deep that is against all highways regulations

    • @therestoguys3425
      @therestoguys3425 3 години тому +2

      I'd contact the highways agency and ask for confirmation about drainage and service coverage and the regulations regarding this as what the council has done is totally illegal and I think they have done it because they hit the services as you said in the verge and again that wants bringing up as they should of had service drawings of the area from gas water drainage and electricity company in your area and also the should of had an excavations plan in there rams and also there procedures of works and a servy done of the area before commencing works and a banks man with a cat and genny ticket to locate services as they dig

    • @therestoguys3425
      @therestoguys3425 3 години тому +1

      Also any service or drainage that is being put in under 600mm in a carriageway should be incased in concrete or expanding concrete

    Great news on the open day. Interesting episode as ever.
    I have to say though- I think there is some naivety in believing the government want to be educated about country generational business matters.
    In fact this is open warfare on more aspects of traditional UK life.
    They don’t want to know the nuances of farming life because they want British agriculture dead and buried.

    Seen as it’s starting to be a party political broadcast, can I just say, we who are on low incomes do not have a say in anything, it’s either take it or leave it, most would not be able to afford to take the time off to go and protest parliament about low wages
    plus no one would listen anyway, just take the taxes on the chin and vote them out when the time comes, but please oh please stop pleading poverty 😩

    • @PX_Farms

      Well you missed the point, you do have money and you’ll pay it because you have to, so all I’m saying is, you have the ability to pay it so stop going on as your skint, and I’m not having a go at you personally , I just think it’s about time those who have that little bit more should pay more, I’ve watched enough of your videos which I truly like and I think you’re a very savvy businessman and you will make it pay, and that’s a compliment by the way , keep up the good work I will continue to watch and tell others to subscribe which I do, we just have different opinions that’s all. I come in peace 🫤

    Bet ya bottom dolla you had hare coursing around the time those containers were done. Look at something called an Ajax alarm system. You can buy them yourself if you shop about and they’re easy to deploy yourself, no wires and have up to a 1000 meter range from base station. Using an Ajax relay you can have it linked to a third party sounder like a master blaster. The door PIRs with cameras, so once they break in have it facing the door and it’ll take pics and in real time upload to cloud. Epic kit with an array of other sensors such as fire and leak detection, along with smart 240 plugs all on the same platform. Pricing wise it’ll be cheaper than a set of tires on the rangy :-)
