Amazing.. Greetings from Lithuania! We have promises which are poured out to us of God's love, and those promises is requiring our part to believe it by faith, and as a consequence by believing, you'll see the steps that you must take to go into the promise, like the Jordan river. Of course the steps will be stretching you, but it's most crucial time, its like yeah you can live without going thru the Jordan river, then you will be like those Israelites who rejected to go and also didnt taste promise land. And yeah today church has this footprint, nonetheless Jesus our Messiah is always inviting and encouraging us to trust all things to Him.. God will allow us to go thru some furnace and get heated, but that's a way how He shows us those inpurities which should be removed by giving it on the cross, to Jesus, so that we could be shaped into His image and go to the promises He arranged for us, others and most importantly His glory:)
What a fabulous sermon. I opened my bible randomly and read Joshua 2 and then searched UA-cam for a visual commentary and found this. Wonderful - thank you.
PS. When Rahab used the word for " red cord", that word has a double meaning. In the old hebrew it also means " suffering, pain." The spies, the word they use for " red cord", its double meaning is "hope". So, because of the red, pain and suffering turns to hope 3 days later.
I thought it was representing the blood of Jesus as they did Exodus 12:7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.
Thank you so much for explaining everything in such clear and godly terms. We are Italian but ever so hungry to hear solid biblical teachings. Thank you!
Hi Ps Paul, I am from Indonesia. Thanks for the teachings, I've been watching your videos and I am so blessed...God bless you, your family, your ministry and your church.
Hello Pastor Paul. I am from Malaysia. I have been listening to your sermons for the past two years years, trying to understand the word of God. Thank you so much for your explanation. This is my very first time really listening in and learning the Bible. All these years I read the Bible and put it down again, never really interested in the word of God until I listened to Billy Graham. That was the starting point eventhou I called myself a Christian for so long.
God almigthy, I ask you to give me faith in which I can believe up till the finetuned grid and beyond and my head up and smiling. In the name and blood of Jesus Christ I ask for your mercy and grace God almigthy: amen.
God did not only keep His promise to Rahab just in that moment in history, He kept His promise to her to preserve her home in perpetuity. In the book “Exodus - Myth or History” by David Rohl, describes this archeological finding regarding the site of Jericho: Well, excavations of the northern part of Tell es-Sultan (ancient Jericho) by Sellin and Watzinger revealed something rather remarkable. Here houses had been constructed between the upper wall of the citadel and the lower wall resting on top of the stone revetment. These were not the dwellings of the wealthy citizens of Jericho but rather the houses of the poor. It was definitely the seedy side of town. The streets between the houses consisted of steps descending down the slope between the walls. The houses had shops on the ground floors and living quarters above, suggesting that this was the town market district. But, even more remarkably, some houses here were actually built into the lower mudbrick wall standing above the revetment. These looked directly out onto the mountains, affording easy escape from the city … and photographs from the German excavations show that the outer wall here had not collapsed during the earthquake which had destroyed the rest of Jericho and brought the walls “a tumbling down’ elsewhere.” Remember, God keeps His promises forever.
Pastor Paul, thank you for the lesson, teaching notes, and prayer points. I have been learning about Rahab so that I can lead the teaching and discussion in my womens’ bible study.
Wow, I never knew Jesus came from the bloodline of Rahab! Their faith is really on another level, I love this story about Rahab. Thank you for this and God bless you.
So is it ok to tell a lie in exceptional situations? There's other examples where God was seemingly honouring lies: the Israeli midwifes who lied to the Egyptians about the birthing of male babies, David pretended he was crazy, miriam concealing she's Moses's sister, Jacob betraying Esau but still getting the blessing. Are there situations in which someone forfeits their right to know the truth, e.g. in times of war and lying is not considered a sin, but more like a strategy?
God has a larger purpose behind everything that takes place in life (Jeremiah 29:11). As Paul taught in Romans 8:28, “We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
How do you understand God's instruction in Number 33? Drive Out the Inhabitants 50 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying, 51 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, 52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you and destroy all their figured stones and destroy all their metal images and demolish all their high places. 53 And you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it. 54 You shall inherit the land by lot according to your clans. To a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance. Wherever the lot falls for anyone, that shall be his. According to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit. 55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell. 56 And I will do to you as I thought to do to them.” Should Joshua 2 be read as ignoring God's command in Number 33? Or that command does not apply here? Is Number 33 central to Joshua 2 as Joshua's disobedience to allow this family to survive? There is no recording in Joshua 2 that God gave command to Joshua to send in spies. Hope to hear your response to my question above. Thanks.
Hey pastor, I watch all your videos and love your analysis. But i have a question for you. If what you say from 17 minutes in is true, then how could you possibly believe in the doctrine of hell (I'm not 100% sure if you do). Because if one would go to hell for not knowing about the lord Jesus and proclaiming him as savior by name specifically then that doesn't match a god who who go out of his way for a person with the faith of a mustard seed. There are so many examples like this in the bible that simply dont match the doctrine of hell and make the new testament fell like bad news, solving a problem that no one in the old testament even knew they had (their problem was death not hell),and not good news. I have my reasons for not believing in the doctrine of hell but i was curious your thoughts on this.
Hi Michael. I don't believe in the "doctrine" of hell. I believe in the REALITY of hell because the Bible teaches it and Jesus warned against it. You're more than welcome to email me personally and we can continue the discussion. (pastorpaul@ccontario.com)
What an amazing message!! Thank you pastor for this. Thank you Lord God!

My God Pastor Paul is awesome at explaining the Word. I have FAITH!!!!
I like the way pastor Paul explained rehab. At my church we are studying the book of Joshua..its good to have you on UA-cam.
This chapter was extremely emotional for pastor Paul, you could see it. He loves stories of people turning their Faith to God and believing in God.
Salvation is by faith not by works! Then, follow by action in that faith. Praise the Lord.
I am new to studying the word of God and I've learned so much, thank you.
Thank you for the revelation of God's word. Praise God.

Yes! Walking it out by faith!! We all need to take a hard look at her. What an awesome teaching.

Listening in 2024 when God has miraculously given Israel victory over Hexbllh in Lebanon and the Israeli flag is planted in Rafah.
Wow🤯
