    Nigerians are very happy about that initiative. The military institutions should be decentralized too. Eg, NDA should be decentralised, some courses should to be run in the southern region of Nigeria. The North is no longer safe to host Nigerian Key training formations and institutions. Is Nigeria not ONE NATION? Why are the Northerner afraid? If it's not ONE NATION, lets call a conference. {Nigerian Capital started from Calabar, least we forget}

The reason is infact economical for the country.
FAAN has been renting office since over 30yrs @ Abuja, while their office @ Lagos is empty and lying valour.
CBN on the other hand is small to accommodate the whole department and now overloaded, while their gigantic edifice @ Lagos is also empty and most their transactions are @ Lagos, so does it not reasonable to move some department to Lagos?
All this is still under the same Authority and in the Same country.
But politics has really redesigned our people and No more Love & Trust.
May the Lord safe our lovely country.

In that case, since we want to be fair based on functionality and relevance let us move:
Ministry of Solid Minerals Developmen --> NORTH (Jos, Nasarawa, Zamfara, Maiduguri, Katsina)
    Ministry of Tourism ---> Calabar
Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security - Sokoto/Benue/Kebbi/Jigawa etc
    Ministry of Defence - Kaduna
Ministry of Blue Economy - Cabalar/Akwa Ibom/Bayelsa/ Lagos
Ministry of Water Resources - Kogi/Kwara
Ministry of Steel Development - Kogi
Ministry of Gas Resources - Bayelsa/PH
Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment --> Anambra/Abia
Ministry of Women Affairs - Imo
Let us settle it once and for all, we don't have to be selective.

Business and Commerce should go to Onitsha or Aanmbra State as a whole. Education should go to Imo State as a whole. The Nigerian problem is serious injustices against the South East, that's why Nigeria is suffering.

You guys are detached from the realities of our national existence.
The North has real fears. The civil service or public sector is their 'crude oil.' It is seen as the backbone of their economic survival, which is a big lie. The North has huge potentials. The public service is where most Northerners end up working.
I lived in Kano during my NYSC days, and I took out time to observe the way of life up there. The aspiration of the average Northerner is mostly to work for the government: civil service, military, police, and prisons, etc.
They are not too inclined to compete for space in the private sector. It has nothing to do with competency as there are folks from the North who are as competent as their conterparts from the South. I think it may have to do with their general cultural disposition to work and life. The average Northener accepts life's conditions as given by the Almighty. So, they accept life as it is. The drive for material acquisition is often moderated by religious beliefs. I once had a Northerner tell me he preferred a job that will not interfere with his daily prayers. I recall a time I was at a bank in Kano, and it was prayer time. The staff left their desks for prayer. At first, I didn't get what was happening until the Operations manager, a southerner, told me they were going for prayers. The private sector may not offer such flexibility. Hence the strong attachment to the public sector up North.
As much as the above does not make rational sense, but it constitute a concern. It is unfortunate the dysfunctional system on which we operate as a nation. A system that is restistive to growth and development.
We need an elite consensus on key issues of governance, growth, and development in Nigeria. Until this is done, we are going nowhere.
The notion that the South controls industry and commerce. So the North has to have the public sector is crazy. Believe me, this is the idea being feed to the people. The North has enormous resources and capacity for growth. Its fixation on politics and all its attached strings as sources of value extraction has blinded it to the values that are underneath its soil and spread across its region.
The government must learn to communicate effectively its intentions to the peole. Knowing how Nigerians are and their propensity to misinterpret the intened plans, policies, and programs of the government.

What's the business of ACF with situating government institutions wherever? The last time I checked all our military and police formations are in the north and nobody is making noise about it. And this belief that Abuja is another northern state is appalling: reason why some northerners felt shortchanged when Wike was appointed as minister of the FCT. I even hear that Hausa is more encouraged as a language than English. Please note that Abuja is FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY of Nigeria, not some capital of a northern state. The only thing we have not yielded to the north in giving in to their perennial entitlement is our BLOOD.

You guys are not telling the truth. All these arguments you are putting forward to support the relocation to Lagos are flimsy. The CBN building in Abuja has been there all these years without any complaint of being over populated by successive administrations. Imagine the argument that due to insecurity, the CBN guys can't, for example, travel from Abuja to Kogi by road. Are you saying that when in Lagos they can now travel to Kogi by road?
None of the other points you raised make sense.
Now, how about the renovation of Dodan barracks in Lagos to the tune of N4bn? Definitely, there is something that is being planned.
You can't be smarter than the ACF.

IBB should be blamed for all this happenings.
Because of his selfish interest, he carried the Capital to Abuja with premature readiness, and till today nothing tangible has been do to settle things and arrange all FG parastatals as it should be.
It's unfortunate that the whole Northerners are thinking politics and tribalism, even our Elders that we expect to think right are even in the forefront.
So is CBN for the Northerners only or FAAN someone property? Go to MM2 and see FAAN office empty because of the foolish relocation and they're paying hugely for the rented office they're using @ Abuja.
Is there any sense in that? Common pls.

Those who are complaining contributes very little to the economy but feed on the largesse mainly from the South. And when you put them in charge of affairs they destroy the whole thing.. All that is always in their mind is "the North".. And we keep talking about unity, deceiving ourselves.. Don’t be a dip shit. Everything happens in lagos and nothing else happens elsewhere. Elsewhere they have offices so the people their will take care of it.
The problem is that the banking supervision offices is in abuja and all the banks are in lagos. So abuja people always have to fly here. It’s very costly.
So it makes sense to relocate them to the center of gravity.

@@Peggyg13Thank u. Its amazing how folks just love to make comments without knowledge of the subject matters. Lagos is the commercial capital of Nigeria and most corporations are headquartered there. It makes sense for smooth transition of business to have a substantial part of cbn to be close to where corporations do their business. For example WASHINGTON D.C is the capital if US. But NEW YORK CITY is the financial capita. So Treasury department which is the equivalent of Cbn have a substantial office in NYC and of course DOW JONES. NASDAQ AND S&P are all headquartered in NYC.
