Thanks for covering dear old Motorola, I still have a soft spot for them with the flashlight chop and camera twist. I say they need a compact in their G lineup, about 5.7" screen. Won't happen, but would be nice.
That's why I keep getting my 2018 G6 rebatteried and charge port replaced.
Watching this on my G6
@@martyneff4008 I've been considering getting my G6 repaired and battery replaced, too, cracked front and back...
The Moto G Stylus is a much better buy for 50 bucks more, 1080p OLED screen, double the ram, wireless charging, 1080p 60fps and 4k recording, its a beast for the price!
So is the used moto stylus 2023 I got 40 bucks on ebay faster than my iPhone 13 pro max
@@jsanf44373yea, I believe that! I’ve got an iPhone 14, and I’m not impressed.
@jsanf44373 fake iphone
Another excellent video sir. It's good to see that you continue to review phones from all price ranges.
The motorola edge is legit. Only 300 at tmobile and it runs just as smooth as any flagship. They make highend midrange phones
Great vid Adam but any chance you know when these gems eventually hit the Prepaid Section in walmarts? I basically use these phones as pocket tablets and only using wifi only.
Plus at walmart they can frequently discount it for as low as $59.99 which is already a generous price haha.
I'm more interested in the G Power. Having IP69 water resistance with MIL-TEK drop rating has me damn interested. I'll say I do like that Motorola at least doesn't use fake looking glass on the back.
Yeah the Moto G Power 5G 2025 is going to look great both of these are running the same progress or phone but the IP69 is going to make a big difference
I really love Motorola phones. I recently bought the G14 and use it for UA-cam etc but love it for listening to audible with the good old pug in ear phones. I can’t stand wireless ear phones, connecting, disconnecting, tapping nonsense, I just want to plug in and listen without thinking about having to charge the bloody things😂 Dee
I own the Edge 50 Neo at the Moment and very satisfied with this Phone and Motorola in General
I would love to see Motorola make a high-end spec device. I replaced my 12 Pro Max with the Razr 2024 Plus and absolutely love it!
if you buy a mid range phone and expect it to run like a flagship phone you are always going to be disappointed. mid range phones have a few good features but not like a flagship phone.
Some flag ship phone not worth the money either.
@@vaughnreedjr6592well then go buy a budget phone i guess?
My a35 feels fast and has circle to search plus super steady mode so that's just moto and other brands that don't deliver
Depends on the user
@@Seahawksnumber1 depends on the user some flash ships are not willing worth the price they cost $900 for a Pixel 9 pro no That's a negative I will not pay that much for no phone not out of pocket
I think its great that you cover these budget phones too... Sounds like a great option for those on a tight budget or for a first phone for a kid! I literally laughed when you were talking about the "water resistance". I am still loving the OnePlus13 and I was thinking about the gap in coverage between the two phones... but what can you expect for a $200 phone! lol.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Adam. I don’t want to spend a lot for a new phone right now. Thanks for this. One question…a new Moto 2025 Stylus on the way?
Appreciate what you do!
I’m assuming so? But I don’t know for sure. If it is I’ll likely cover it.
@TechOdyssey Appreciate that!
@@cjay1964Yes, Motorola is planning on releasing the Moto G Stylus 2025. It's code name is Houston I believe. Apparently there's already some leaks showing what the phone may look like, although at the time of making this comment, there have not been much updates in regards to the hardware and specs. It should be releasing soon.
Loving the across the board adaption of the leathered backing makes the phone feel great.
I use a Motorola Moto G 54 5G with 256 GB since 10 month and I am very satisfied. Motorola should bring out this with a physical keyboard!
Please, make a comparison overview for Moto Thinkphone 2022 vs 2024. I’m on the crossroad b-n Moto Neo and Moto Thinkphone
Why is Motorola using 720p and charging $200 you can get a Galaxy a16 5G with a 1080p AMOLED screen for the same money
Exactly, Samsung makes the best budget phones.
I just watched your s25 review where you compared it to the s24 on the s23.
Thanks for watching! Hopefully you found it helpful
I always used to like the Motorola pink razor flip phone, back in the day! 😊❤
If you like you can get the flip smartphone but the price might be a tad high
@tamwilfred funnily enough, I no longer like flip phones, it was just that particular phone stood out to me when I was much younger. 🙂
any idea when the moto g stylus 2025 is coming out?
don't bother with ram boost. it corrupts rom in the long run and eventually makes your phone sluggish.
the difference with it on is barely noticeable
"You’re writing a legacy-let every chapter inspire."
I think this phone is really good for the price. I wish they would give longer updates. I think it is great you are reviewing other less expensive phones besides the flagships. The Ultras are just out of our price point for our family with a lot of kids.
I read the forums and someone couldn't use their moto phone anymore for work because the lack of security updates. Assuming that Moto only give two years of updates then it's about $100 a year. Whereas if you buy Samsung s25 for $800 then that's about $114.28 a year. So that makes it seem that they are pretty close. Since there are always deals on Samsung phone the price could be even lower. I own a few Moto phones and the experience on their budget line can be a hit or miss. Since the price is so low, they don't really show much love in the software development. My Moto 2023 stylus is laggy and sutters sometimes compared to the Moto 2024 G. Moto doesn't push for software updates as frequently as well.
I need a budget phone for a couple weeks until I get my Fold 6 back from Samsung. I bought the moto g 5g and it's horrible. It's super slow. Maybe I'll send it back and I'll get this one. Hopefully this is much better... 🤔
I have a moto g stylus 2024, excellent mid ranger.
8gb of ram with 8gb of power boost.
I'm sticking with Motorola, I want the moto g 50 fusion pro next. Unless they come out with a stylus for 2025
They're really screwing you over there. The closest UK model is the G55, this is 256GB, 8GB RAM, better processor and 1080p Screen, this is available for £159.
So I can buy this from Amazon or from the Motorola website and would be able to switch my Cricket sim card into it?
@theperpendicular326 I would have to buy Google One to get more storage right?
@@theperpendicular326 ahh ok gotcha, thank you for the explanation.
@@theperpendicular326 The Motorola Moto G Power 5G 2025 should be coming out this week I believe 🤔, should I wait for that?
Remember when Moto G1, 2 and 3 was "flagship killer" phones. Now they're cheap garbage. That's sad.
There's other options that you can go into your developer options and make it more snappy
Hey, thanks for the video. Looks pretty good for 200 bucks.
What about the Motorola ban? Should that prevent me from getting one?
Price is good but they don't update for so long, thank you.
Might not be your wheelhouse but I'd love to see a "best phone" for each price point as of 2025.
If you're not worried about buying refurbished, a Google Pixel 7a (8GB/128GB) can be had for $160-$230 (depending on the condition), and will give you superior experience in every regard. You'll also get three much more timely Android updates and security updates for three more years.
I hate the 4gb of ram
Good review, although I still dont like the fact that the phone only ships with 4gb of physical RAM. At this point. It should have at least be 6gb of ram. The 2022 version of this phone literally had 6gb of ram and double the amount of storage, the 2022 version having a 64gb variant, but also having a 256gb storage variant. Why do they keep selling phones with 64gb or 128 gb? At this point i think 64gb shouldn't really be an option anymore in 2025 especially with Android and applications (unfortunately) increasing in size, taking up lots of phone storage, I know you can put an SD card which is good, but I think its also nice to have the onboard space, especially when you most likely will keep the phone for 3-4 years. Its just for future-proofing. Having a 720p screen also just isnt right for a 6.7 inch phone. I feel like it could have gotten a 1080p screen at the very least. 128gb should be the new minimum when it comes to stroage. Also, not including the UltraWide camera is a bit of a disappointment. But at least its still very affordable and it can get the necessities done, and that they updated the software policy for the 2025 lineup.
Sometimes it could be a hit or miss with the moto budget lines. It comes down to the software development for it. I got a moto stylus 2023 with a SD 6 series boost mobile branded that has performance issues and lag. The boost 2024 moto g with weaker specs and the media tek ran better.
Solid for the price but im waiting on the Moto Power 2025. That's the one to get. Double the ram, 1080p and wireless charging for like $50 more. Good to see the G series getting A15 out of the box.
Do you know when Moto power 2025 will be released?
@ Yes. 02/07/25
This is just the Moto G, not the Moto G Power 2025 correct?
That is correct
Thanks! @@TechOdyssey
Good video
Can this out perform the s23 ultra?
Absolutely not.
@bradleyswaney6100 ill give the phone credit maybe it's better than the s20 and the s21 due to yrs and I'm talking about the base versions of these phones. But the s23 ultra is my standard for these budget phones. They have to be either better or on par with the s23ultra. That's just my standard for these budget phones.
I can't believe phone makers still doing phones with 720 screen resolution
Headphone jack 🎉🥳
For $100 more , the edge is a better buy
Seams like a great phone the for letting us know
I love Motorola.
How's the software updates 😂
2 years instead of 1 I heard
The Moto 2024 edge...that's the one you want. Better than this and can be had for as little as 175 on eBay.
Motorola prices are very reasonable.
Samsung a16 5g I am between that and this
Yeah this phone's going to be way better than 2024 version
2024 is way better then 2025
@RobinRobinson-c8o7 I don't know where you got your logic You might want to read up on the phone and do you research before you make that comment again
@RobinRobinson-c8o7 And I have the 2024 version of this phone so yeah I can judge it and the 2025 is better it's the upgrade You get wireless charging here where 2024 version you didn't get You get a better size display You get IP 69 2024 version didn't have that 2025 version does have that so where you get your logic saying the 2024 version is better than 2025 version nah
I Just Bought The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G & Its Definitely Better Than The Motorola G 5G (2025) Better Specs For The Money I Only Paid $120 For Mines At Metro By T-Mobile
Yes Yes Yes
🤔 Nah pixel 6 pro $ 199 updates until 2027
4g ram isnt enough.
