Hi Grace, I have questions on several points you made: 1) You said that intuition is not gut feeling. There are many scientific papers in literature which say that gut feeling is one of the ways that intuition manifests itself. In fact it could be many other body feelings. Do you have a reference paper to support your claim that gut feeling has nothing to do with intuition? 2) your definition of "instinct" is that it takes us away from a possible danger. There are animal instincts such as feeding the newborn, ducks follow the first moving object when they are out of the eggs this can be a human being instead of their mother, baby sea turtles move towards the sound of the waves, etc. etc. These instincts have nothing to do with your narrow definition. In my opinion emotions such as "fear" should be substituted instead of "instinct" in your video. Fear is also a function of amygdala. Yes there is a relation between emotions and instincts but here emotions and maybe a narrow subset of instincts are considered. Also impulses can be generated by instincts as well. Not all impulses are desire generated. My suggestion is that "intuition is not the same as positive or negative impulses which may also generate gut feelings."
I have been exploring the concept of intuition and its connection to the commonly referred 'gut feeling' or the notion of 'trusting your gut.' After viewing this particular video on the subject, I was somewhat surprised by its lack of clarity regarding this universal gut connection we often experience. Rollin McCraty and his team at the HeartMath Institute have conducted experiments that illustrate how individuals react to emotionally charged stimuli. The findings were intriguing, revealing that the hearts and brains of participants seemed to receive and respond to information regarding the emotional content of images before they were randomly selected by a computer, as though they were reacting to an event that had not yet occurred. Perhaps even more astonishing is the data indicating that the heart receives information before the brain. "The process begins with the heart," Rollin McCraty elaborated, "progresses to the brain (emotional and pre-frontal cortex), where we can logically understand our intuitions, and then moves down to the gut (where we feel those intuitions)." Both the gut and the heart have a considerable amount of neural tissue and are linked to the brain via the vagus nerve, forming the gut-brain and heart-brain axes. Moreover, neurotransmitters and hormones like dopamine and serotonin are known to affect cognitive functions and emotions. These biochemical messengers may also play a role in shaping our intuitive reactions. Intuition in later life is the result of accumulated knowledge and experiences, which are processed and stored across the neural networks of our brain, as well as in other cells and tissues, enabling us to rapidly and often subconsciously retrieve this information. The biological foundation of intuition is undoubtedly intricate, involving multiple factors. Increasing evidence supports the notion that humans possess an innate capacity for intuitive thought, which improves as we age and our connections between the embodied mind, emotional processing, and intuition are reinforced through experience. However, if we neglect this aspect of cognition, akin to an unused muscle, our intuitive skills may decline and deteriorate.
Always love your insights but this video is especially great becoz you neuroscience expertise adding a lots of weights to career coaching! This is terrific.
Thank you Dr Grace ❤️ for these clarification and advices 🙌 I am so grateful with all what you said in this video. It opened my mind to think 💭 about things that I am not happy with.
% of my intuition is 61% based on MBTI ( INFJ A type personality ) , what is the necessity of intuition without observation ? ( Some time intuition is a problem , I mean changing the route of mind )
‘May your inner voice be louder than your outside voices.’ Dr. Grace you are that wise, kind, honest friend everyone needs -Thank you.
My Intuition is telling me that I've found another mentor and teacher. Thank you so much Dr. Grace. You're an inspiration to me💝🙌

This is very good professional video
Eissh all along from some of the youtube videos I was meant to believe intuition does not come from the head😊
Thank you I am your student
one way to remember instinct = it stinks. (You run away from it.) lol
I thought having a gut feeling was the epitome of intuition? Please help I really want to understand.

🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏
I was thinking wow she is going into a lot of physiological/neurobiological detail about this then I remembered that she has a PhD in that area.
I’m glad you appreciate the scientific background of my coaching. I hope you learned something new and useful from this video. 😊
