Keep strong and yes check ins are important ! Maybe that vacation fund needs to grow so when spa weekends come up you can go ! Don’t deprive ! PLAN ! And then be guilt FREE glenda 🎉
Hi Amelia. Please don't beat yourself up over this. Think what you can do to going forward to help you feel good about these 'splurges'. Maybe set up a splurge sinking fund or maybe set aside your YT earnings to go towards splurge items. It's fun to be a little spontaneous. Life can't be all planned out. You are a success - you didn't go into CC debt after this little blip. I think people are busy during the summer and perhaps aren't watching YT videos as much. 💜💜💜
My toxic trait is that I don’t see anything wrong with your purchases. 😂 You’re a young professional who has been making large debt payments for a long length of time. Big purchases come up and impromptu outings with friends are important! You just need to give yourself permission to have used savings in a way you weren’t meaning to (large purchase vs emergency fund). I actually keep my sinking funds unassigned because I need the flexibility. I think you’re doing great!
I was wondering why you weren’t coming up in my feed😂😂 glad to see you post another video, try not to be so hard on yourself, it’s hard to be perfect, there’s always something that we want that not in our budget, at least your not going over every month
Oh my goodness, you are doing great! You have worked so hard for 2 years! You definitely needed a laptop, but also, please don’t worry about the other purchases. You are allowed to be human and enjoy life. You will get back to your budget and all will be just fine. Once you are out of debt, you will have an additional $700/month to do what you want with. I suggest using a chunk of that for “splurges.” Also, I also have two magic months per year, where I receive a 3rd paycheck. I don’t use these toward my regular budget at all. These either go to savings, or for special purchases-or, you could use them toward debt reduction. Just a thought. Please keep making videos! Yours is one of my favorite channels!😊
Thank you Tracey ☺️ I really appreciate this comment. And I think once I have more money in a “buffer” I will be able to use extra paycheques for fun things or savings. One of my favourite channels, Katie of the House, does something similar to that because it doesn’t matter when in the month she gets paid.
Not many of us can say yes to everything! You are definitely in a better place, just think, that extra $2600 could have all be back on a credit card!! But you knew you needed a computer and had started a fund for that. You have definitely improved! Once you get completely out of debt, you can earmark some of the debt money to be FUN/ANYTHING money that will allow you to cash flow fun things or items you want for yourself that can’t be completely planned for. Self care to include breaks is very, very important - never feel guilty about taking care of yourself!
@pixiebuddha3236 This is so true!!! Two years ago, this would have been added to a credit card with a 20% or higher interest rate. Today, there was savings to use instead. That is a huge win!
Thanks Amanda 🥰 I filmed two videos today and hopefully I'll do a few tomorrow as well - I hate not keeping to a schedule but I'm been finding UA-cam weirdly hard lately 🤷🏻♀️
Sweetie, I have been retired for years and still use a budget every month. Like you I kind of know in my mind but I like the peace of mind that a budget gives me. I want to know exactly what I have coming up. It does help me if I keep a slush fund in cash that I add into every month. I use it for spending outside my budget if I see something I want or for fun.
Came to offer you some support as well as commiserate. The laptop was a known expense, and I don't think you need to beat yourself up about it. As far as the other stuff goes; sometimes you need a breather. You have been in a very long, hard slog with this budget. 2 years is a very long time to be so rigid with yourself. That being said, sometimes we need to be reminded why this is so important. There is a reason we end up in these messes. There is a reason we need to budget and check in. We need to be reminded of that occasionally. Also, I would bet if you peeled back the layers in the budgets of some of those friends you might find, they are in a similar situation of over-extending themselves. Please, don't pressure yourself to respond to me. The benefit I get from watching your videos is enough. I am glad you are physically ok, though. I was beginning to be concerned that something had happened.
Meh, you’re human! I’m proud of you for at least cash flowing those expenses and not charging them. That’s a win in itself, and it sounds like you had a wonderful month! I have no doubt that you’ll get back on track for July. I was happy to see you back, by the way! 😊
You don’t need to beat yourself up for spending your own money. All you bills have been paid, you took care of your personal loan. The laptop was a need, more than a want. Your job depends on it. You are doing great!
Thank you ☺️ And I can't remember if my viewership went down last year, but I think I was just a little sad to see each video I posted to be the least popular. It ultimately shouldn't matter because I NEED this channel to keep myself accountable.
It's okay to spend here and there, and it's not a failure if you stray out of budget every now and then. I'm in the same boat right now and I totally get how you feel. I have not reconciled with myself yet so I'm still kinda living in denial. Making the busyness of life and work the excuse for not doing my budget 😅 You're a motivation to someone like me to get into it asap 🙈
Thank you so much Joshua 🥰 I still having filmed my 2 year update so I don't think it has fully hit me that I have actually been doing this a full 2 years!
I have been busy and not watching videos because of summer. Tonight i will binge some. I agree that you should do your channel for you. If you make a little extra money then that is wonderful. But i think that you "make" more money by doing your videos because when you check in you don't spend as much. Don't worry about pressuring yourself to respond to every video. Maybe set a schedule of so much time and quit when your time is up. I agree using the computer to respond would make it faster. Budgeting is like anything else in life, you have your ups and downs. What matters most is just starting again and that's all we can do. Life is to short to be down on ourselves all the time. You are doing awesome!🌞
I definitely “make” money off UA-cam because of my check-ins. And the schedule for comments is a really good idea - I think once I catch up on the backlog things will be easier. I hope you’ve been having a fun summer ☺️
Don't be too harsh on yourself! You had been wanting the laptop and hair removal for so long. As long as you don't find new things to splurge on, you're fine. As you are practically not in debt now, maybe budget more for social activities. The gym membership, the spa, meals out are all building you social life/ community had should be celebrated and not making you feel guilty for spending money.
Keep strong and yes check ins are important ! Maybe that vacation fund needs to grow so when spa weekends come up you can go ! Don’t deprive ! PLAN ! And then be guilt FREE glenda 🎉

Weekly checkins do help me so much so I totally understand what you mean! Everything you said is very relatable to so many people.

Video wise-keep doing what works best for you and your budget. It is inspiring to see how others are working their way out of debt. 💞
Love watching your video and Utube videos like yours keeps me (and others) motivated to do ours. YOU DO YOU!
Thank you Nancy 🥰
I’ve been missing you! So glad to see this up on my feed!

I hope this just not discourage you. It’s part of the journey 🌷🌷🌷🌷 All the best with July!
It has definitely been tough to get back into a routine - but July has definitely been going better than June ☺️
really missed your video so glad you are back. little time off never hurt anyone. im a couponer and i have to take breaks.
Thanks Sherry 🥰
I really enjoy your videos.. Take as much time off that you need.

I have heard other you tube channels say summer viewership is generally. Maybe it’s related to that. I enjoy the videos!
Thank you ☺️ And I can't remember if my viewership went down last year, but I think I was just a little sad to see each video I posted to be the least popular. It ultimately shouldn't matter because I NEED this channel to keep myself accountable.
Hang in there. I’m new and needed a bullet journal budgeting template and just found you today.
I hope you’re able to use a bit of my template for your own bullet journal - good luck ☺️

I am happy that you’re back been waiting for the next video and I’m so happy with what you’ve accomplished in the last 2 years! Cheers Amelia! 🍻
Thank you so much Joshua 🥰 I still having filmed my 2 year update so I don't think it has fully hit me that I have actually been doing this a full 2 years!
It's Your money and Your live...you do wat you want or need to do with it❤
Thanks Wilma ☺️

Your back! Welcome.
Thank you ☺️
Once you get your debt paid off you can put that extra money in different sinking funds for enjoyable things!🌞
Totally agree ☺️ It’s going to be so nice!
thanks for sharing. It is easy to fall off the proverbial wagon. But recognising it is good.
Thank you Cheyenne ☺️ July definitely hasn't been perfect so far but I'm definitely doing much better than June!
❤❤❤

July has GST , a "grocery rebate" and climate incentive . Hope it will help. I also spent over budget in June... lol .. must be the summer air
Unfortunately a lot of people won't get the 'grocery rebate' because they make 'too' much. 😥
@@DeidresBudgetingJourneyohh right. I did hear that 😢 dang
I didn't get the grocery rebate - but I did get the Climate Action Incentive in both June and July - which I don't fully understand 🤷🏻♀️
@@AmeliaBudgets well there is trillium every month on the 10th. Must of qualified :)
