Thanks for the tips. I been cleaning Pike all my life, this is the best I've ever seen. I definitely will doing it your way from now on. I'll see you on the Bay!
People are different and have different ways of doing things. Doing what works for you and it satisfies you is what counts not opinions. The old cliche works well here: opinions are like a_ _ holes and everybody has one. Keep up the good work. Suggestion: place the board over a sink where a small stream of water can keep your work area and the meat clean. It's safe, clean, and efficient. Kudos on taking the red off. Tips like that make for a good informative video. Then you'll receive a " well done from an old veteran like myself. I can say at least you share something worthwhile, which is more than I can say for haters that haven't caught, cleaned, or cooked a fish much less contributed something to help their fellow man.
Yeah thats funny when its not just a opinion but straight facts this way of fileting is terrible takes forever and he just wastes the carcass there is a much easier faster way to do this without any waste ! And you get boneless fillets right off the bat this is just not affective
If there is only pike to eat , Cleaning them ' well we all do it different. But Sir' you are Fussy about what you eat, and in that respect I respect you.
I woulda put that mama pike back in the water...they're not hard to catch...but definitely more pike in the water if you give those eggs a chance to hatch...
Good grief. This is one of the reasons I don't eat fresh water fish. I can clean a grouper or snapper, remove all the bones and skinned in less than 3 minutes. To each their own...
Yeah but you can fillet a pike fairly fast this guy just makes it look way harder than it has to be you can get boneless fillets right off the bat if you cut the fish in the right way
He cut off all the extra meat that’s why. You can eat the skin because it’s just like the meat itself or you can peel it off. This dude cut it off along with 3 extra inches of meat.
You really need to learn how to properly use Mic distance your voice in the video is so low and then you turn on that stupid electric knife and it drowns everything else out makes me not even want to watch the video other than that it was an all right job cleaning wasted a lot of meat on the back though
@@user-md8wu5zh5e you have no idea what you're talking about this guy is terrible at fileting pike took forever and was very gross and ineffective you can get 5 boneless fillets very quickly with little effort cutting them right off the fish then you use the carcass as soup base and you don't waste anything dont throw the carcass away even if you don't eat it leave it for the animals its good for the economy system
Watching you on this video makes me want to throw up, you take the contents from the stomach and all that stomach acid, and slime and then touch to meet with your hands without washing them or wiping them. You have to eat that meat when you're done, some people say all you have to do is rinse it off. That is true, but you don't have to roll your hands in it or rub the slime on it.
AWESOME, BEST TUTORIAL ON UA-cam I HAVE SEEN. AND I'VE SEEN THEM ALL
Thanks for the tips. I been cleaning Pike all my life, this is the best I've ever seen. I definitely will doing it your way from now on. I'll see you on the Bay!
Thanks for being so thorough!
I always cook those perch you took out. Delicious. They are very tender.
great craftmanship!!
Thank you for establishing that there's a difference between the grubs and dip. I won't make that mistake a third time!
i will not be cleaning my fish at the dinner table but thanks for the tutorial lol
Love this guy. Got to be a rural Cheesehead or Minnesotan or maybe Yooper. That’s my guess.
Cheesehead
I think we need a bigger cutting board.
Right on the kitchen table....well, damn!

I have an entire cleaning station in my back yard and a cooking station outside so I’ll stick with that
Good job I like that thank.
Shit I prolly woulda gutted the fish first other then that prolly the best tutorial on pike on UA-cam
That is how eternity looks like
Dude, you didn't waste those pike eggs did you?
What would you do with the eggs?
According to my calculations, if you caught 10 fish, it would take you about 5 hours to clean all of them.
Not everyone is pressed for time. While I think this guys method is shit, going faster than you’re comfortable with will cut deep.
Everybody hating in the comments....I thought you did alright job?
What was this pikes weight and how long was it dead before you cleaned it out,I'm amazed at the nerves twitching like that lol
It wasn’t “twitching” it’s the saw that was moving inside of it.
The easiest way to debone a pike is to throw it back.
If people say fish tastes bad it’s usually because they just don’t prepare it right
I gut all my fish first so I don't have guts all over my meat. But that's just my method
Yeah definitely and bleed them out this just seems like a ineffective method here this guy is showing
Electric knives ain't worth a damn not even the Carver turkey with
Didn't papa ever tell you don't play with your meat, because it will make you go blind?
My Dad, and he's 87, does this in 4 minutes with just a knife.
It’s just nerves sonny!
I would have saved those fish eggs and fried them too.
I woulda put that mama pike back in the water...they're not hard to catch...but definitely more pike in the water if you give those eggs a chance to hatch...

Yes this guy, like he said, is trying not to waste any of the meat. You can get boneless filets pretty easily but you lose a decent amount of meat.
then roll those nice fillets in some soupy fish guts for extra flava.. ha ha
Don't forget, you got to put some tobacco juice in there too.
I thought that was a great video!
I saw the electric knife.
I moved on to another video.
Seriously electric knife is garbage. Just use a regular filet knife it’s twice as fast.
you cannot clean fish either 😂
A horror movie
Sharper knife needed.
Gotta be a quicker way.
Not enough meat for me to waste time on I just let go
That’s like two meals for a big guy. Four if you eat breakfast and lunch
He cut off all the extra meat that’s why. You can eat the skin because it’s just like the meat itself or you can peel it off. This dude cut it off along with 3 extra inches of meat.
3 worse eating fish is carp catfish and pike. Life must be hard
Pike is delicious
@@Leavemealone670 God I feel sorry for you
@@christiannelson730catfish and pike is the best
Off all the fish you can eat.
You need lots more practice

wrong...! i clean a lot of fish and no need to go through all fo that
😬
Disaster. What are you doing? 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Dude. Delete this video asap and then watch a video on how to clean pike. You are welcome
@@user-md8wu5zh5e example is 13:20 holding fillet in the air and cutting it
