I didn’t know what this song was. What it meant. I listened first time today and was crushed to my very being. I was uplifted to new heights. I lost my wonderful husband, lover, best friend, March 28, 2022, 6:05 pm. For 6 years I was his sole caregiver through Lewy Body Dementia w/Parkinsons. This was my not just my duty as his wife to fulfill my vows to him, but it was my honor to care for him his last wonderful, confusing, heartbreaking years. He would have gladly cared for me.
Some did not understand how deep, how pure, how beautiful, then heart rendering these last years were for us, then just me, as he drifted farther away from this reality, into his demented and sometimes violent reality. This was not the man I married and he didn’t know me, but I knew him.
This journey was not pretty, but it was beautiful. I know I shall see him and I shall see Him someday.
Valentine’s Day is one of the hardest days. He would always make this day extra special. I would fix him a wonderful supper. How I long to be with him. How my heart breaks each and every day without him.
We had nearly 24 years together. 18 years were glorious.
Love ain’t pretty. Love is beautiful and meant to be lived to the fullest. I’m not living my best life right now, but I want to.
I sat in my car today mesmerized by this song. It makes my heart break and it makes my heart sing.
I thank you. I thank you from my very being. I thank you from my soul.

Musique magnifique
This is such a lovely song. Thank you, Sir. It is about as true as it gets. It ain't pretty. In all my years I thought it would be or could be, should be. But not for me. But songs like this and watching older folks walk along holding hands, gives me a glimpse that it does exist. But, love comes in different ways. Don't have to be a "couple". So I love life, nature and my kids most of all-and THAT love is truly beautiful.
I feel the same way. I've seen the true thing with my parents who have been together 65 years, but never for me.
