I think someone is going to be giving EarthRoamer a run for their money
At a fraction of the price
Hopefully for a lot less money
That is exactly what I was going to say, especially at that price point
That’s a very nice vehicle at half the price of an earth Romer
Definitely not as nice as an Earthroamer
They need to make a compact version of this with a shorter wheelbase
Awesome! Thanks for giving us the first look. Hope to see you guys on the road sometime soon.
Can't wait!
You guys are the best. Thank you so much for all of wanting to or are already out there exploring this beautiful ball we live on ❤
Looks fit for purpose, awesome! Would love a more thorough walkthrough, including insulation, windows, etc, as we’re planning on a lot of high altitude winter adventures. Thanks guys!
I am so jealous I want one so bad! Even just renting it for five days I want it so bad!
The Hilt is just the right size & price for this retired couple, thanks for sharing😉👍🏻✌️
Yes, please a detailed walkthrough is a must
Looks awesome Joe! Nice tour. I can't wait to see on in person.
Thank you! It’s impressive
Well, that's going to take you most places you could want to go and look great doing it. Nice tour as always.
Thank you!
Been waiting for this preview. Nice overview of the Hilt, Joe and Kate. Cool rig. Definitely a strong entry into the expedition vehicle space.
Glad you enjoyed it!
For around $500,000 with all taxes etc and probably 5 mph; no thank you. It’s great for those who can and will.
MPG is around 12 ish from what we’ve heard from those taking it cross country
id take this over a flat in any large us city any day of the week and if you build it yourself, woth some smart choices (used truck, just 1 inverter, half of the batterys, you dont need more...) its more like 150- 250k at most.
Thank you Joe! You are a good Storyteller Stalker!
Ha! Thanks
Awesome set up! Very effective and efficient.
Of course we want a detailed walk thru :) Thank you for the video!
You are so welcome!
Nice to see this format of expedition vehicle gain in popularity. Details would be great. I'm subscribed!
Wow !! awesome rig ….well done Storyteller -
Ohhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhhhh. Here we come.... Awesome Love It.
Great job Joe. We are waiting for our new F550 to be built by Ford, and then it will get a similar treatment. Love Liquid Spring. We will meetup with you guys next summer for sure.
I want more! That thing is a boondocking dream machine!
That it is
Great review Joe...
Thanks 👍
Wow Thanks for uploading this video. Really enjoyed your review of this RV
Glad you enjoyed it!
It’s nice to see earth roamer-ish expedition vehicles coming on the market for less than a million.
Supercool! The power system is amazing along with the tank capacities.
It really is!
Yes, this is a wild camping beast.
Yes more details definitely
Loved the over cab bed. Windows were amazing Surprised there was no drop down table outside and refrigerator closer to door
the wall vent in the bathroom is great - 99% of RVs provide a roof ventilator, which is an overkill.
Amazing vehicle. I’ve been researching every Class B overlander available. This STO Hilt just got added to my list, definitely a step up and more capable.
Right on!
Great tour!👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Will be happy to see more from your review sir on the power plant and charging system. BTW I love all your videos for years.
So nice of you - sounds like we might be able to get one to play with
This is awesome. Well done, StoryTeller!
I hope it’s well insulated for that price with quiet and efficiency heating and A/C.
It definitely seemed to be.
So many features they got right with this rig as compared to similar rigs.
Wow, I loved it All, except I would have a Laveo dry flush toilet fitted to it instead of cassette. All of that back country swaying and sloshing around. I don't know how a cassette would like that! They did an excellent job on perimeter storage and choosing those awesome awning windows. I don't normally think I'd own one of those monsters. If I would, that one would be on the short list!
We never had an issue with our cassette when off road and I don’t know anyone who has. They’re sealed up very well.
Good to see you! 👋🏼 Nice review ✨🌻✨
Thank you! 🤗
Gorgeous rig! Would absolutely love a more detailed video. Can it be outfitted with an outdoor kitchen? Love the layout
Only $400,00? In my opinion that's a steal. Storeyteller Overland should run a one day special where if you buy the GXV Hilt at full price you get the Classic MODE van at half price.
great review nd great truck worth the price
Super ce Ram camping car ❤ ! Très coûteux tout de même, mais pourquoi pas 😊, merci pour ce partage 😉
You’re welcome!
Rossmonster also has a Overland style platform available on Ford, Ram and Chevy platforms.
So many great ideas from the past few years of 'new' Truck Camper builds now integrated into one Truck Camper!
We agree!
@@Weretherussos Maybe STO will upset the Class C camper world too to bring the next generation of Class C Camper design as well
Thank you for another great video. I was hoping STO was going to announce another option to their class B lineup and more specifically another Ford Transit option, call it the Big Foot Mode 🙂. So to say that I am disappointed is an understatement. At $400K (plus tax and license) my wife and I would be priced out, but congrats to the few people who can afford it.
Me too! Was hoping their announcement was going to be a new class b floor plan or updated Transit Trail chassis.
Yeah, beautiful rig for sure but I think they make these for rich trust fund kids, independently wealthy people and lottery winners. 😅 Not meant for us 99% working folks.😜
Love it
I would love to have one of them
Competitively priced compared to Earth Roamer.
Прокатиться бы в таком по Мохаве.
😀
Great Expedition truck very nice price is high but they all are great vid enjoyed it
Glad you enjoyed it
great vehicle please more videos
Like the King cab😊
Nice unit!
It sure is!
awesome
I'd love to see an optional to go for a king in the cab-over. they have the room, but you'd lose some storage space.
Dang that thing is stable! What an awesome rig! Bet those tires aren't very cheap haha. With as expensive as trucks are these days, that really isn't too bad of a price for all that you get. Still above my paygrade, but maybe someday! Awesome video guys! - Shane
It was impressive. You could always build something out a bit smaller and also use it on the farm 😉
This rig looks great with functionality like the Earthroamer but is not ridiculously overpriced like the Earthroamer. Yes please do a more in-depth review of the GXV Hilt...
You got it!
Glass windows are needed. I want it to be a fortress locked. Probably the best earthroamer copy I've seen. Hope you offer more custom options.
Awesome video 😊
Thank you 😁
Great to have quick walk thru - thanks (nothing on STO site yet). What does it weigh - wet? dry? Any word on support for dual-receiver moto carrier (rear and/or front)? Any footage of the outside storage boxes (ie, with doors open)? Any word on their policy toward customizations (or are they "any color you want, as long as it's black")? Lastly, when you're driving on the rutted road, it looks like there is significant camper sway (despite the liquid springs) - did it "feel" like it was going to tip over? Any sense of its max rollover degrees (understanding lot os factors could change that number)? Is this a rig you'd take through Dedeckedera Canyon from Eureka Dunes to Saline Valley in DVNP?
Great vlog, yes please a more detailed walkthru, also focus on the roof, electrical setup, and how water and waste are moved to from rv. Lastly, driving impressions on the road and items such as fill ups, service stops, how tire would be replaced, height..& whew!😊
Noted!
Hey Joe, it's Lanny from Midland. Great job on the video!
Hey Lanny - long time no see. Hope all is well!
We would like to see you all take it out on a week long trip 👍👍
Us too!
Awesomeness 👌
Thanks 🤗
Nice RV
cool rig. ready for the desert apocalypse! but it's gonna cost ya
I knew that STO and GXV were going to team-up and this first effort looks awesome! This is def. a vehicle i'd buy if I had the cash. Its a solid off-road beast...
Very nice rig. It seems like a good alternative to the the Earth Roamer.
I think so too!
Agreed! It honestly looks like a much better value for the money, with a bigger focus on functionality than flash.
Awesome build, please show more. Tell me about the box construction, that’s critical. Also all the electrical components please. Oh and please ask STO to offer the Separett Tiny toilet option. That cassette toilet isn’t making me a happy camper!
Killer review!!!
Thank you! Loved the content you shot as well
It was so nice to me meet you two at the Elkhart Show..... this is Joe that met you as you two were leaving for the day.... 😊
Our pleasure! Thank you for stopping us
400K is expensive but was expecting a higher price point. The electrical system can easily be 100K by itself for long warrantied individual products. Solid rig.
Dear, Santa. I'll take one, but with excellent cb radio station.
Also, instead of pass though storage in the back. One side pop out kitchen, bar b q. Sink the works. Other side, pop out generator and gas storage.
So that way, if you break down in extreme environments. You can still make power. Needs two spare tires. Thank you.
Much love and respect my fellow Humans 💚
Fromboldt reporting ☕🌄🦢
( My favorite part -
It's DODGE 🐸
🤜💥🤛. )
Well when I hit the jp..I know what home I am buying...this will do it..roomy, smart staged essentials and enough power...the truck is structurally sound, good power output as well as great solar and that dual alternator has me sold. I do not need dual wheel in the back...I relish the spare....the water grey water tank sufficient and love the 2 water faucets...drinking water and grey...
External storage a must! Lockable and alarmable.... diesel tank... I wonder how much destruction the composite can take? I mean desert heat, extreme cold, pelts from hail..? Maybe want to get a In - A- Snap - Awning, for that little inconvenience weather surprise. Great video.
Always great videos !!! Mike H
Glad you like them!
125 gallons of fresh water, wow! I thought our 55 gallon tank is large. It isn't exactly the kind of vehicle you would pull in to a KOA. I like it but I think I would be self conscious of overnighting in places where it's obviously overkill such as rest areas. Thanks for the tour.
$400k! Wow, but its awesome looking!😮
I want this....sold
Min 1:24. Was about to say there's a creeper in the back watching you and it's not Kate. 🤣Too bad they don't let yall take it for a week or weekend without a chaperone. lol Amazing rig! Thanks for the tour.
It sounds like we might get it for a bit.
@@Weretherussos Awesome! Thank you Storyteller! Nice guy and everything but I hope without the chaperone? 🤞😝 Who needs him standing over yall while sleepin. hehe j/k✌
Great quick review, Joe. Thank you. Yes, please do an in depth review as soon a you can. Also, reach out to the Supertramp folks as they have the new Megatron that will be a competitor to this and the Earthroamer. We've always enjoyed your review style and value your opinion, so please put in a request to get eyes on the Supertramp Megatron. Thanks for considering!
That looks cool - will have to see if we can find one
Great alternative to just about any product currently on the market. Love to see. Lot more pass through space between the cab and house. Would also like to know how many usable gallons of fuel, range before refueling and empty and gross weight of the vehicle. Finally, what’s the proposed delivery timeline and when will the company start taking orders? Exciting!
All good questions - since this is still a prototype we’ll have to wait for a production version to answer them.
Beautiful truck. There's no way I would be able to go through that pass through door. It's such a good feature to add to these rigs, not having to go outside to drive away. Any plans on making that bigger?
Love everything about this rig. Solar system, suspension system, and best of all, it’s on a Ram 5500 and not a Ford
Enjoyed it. Going to buy some lottery tickets.
Good luck!
Massive!
Hokey SMOKES!
Wow!!! It's half the price of an Earthroamer Lti. Great review!
Thank you!
$400,000 , at that price it better have rear , front and transverse case lockers along with Central tire inflation system.
The dinette, with the wrap-around windows, is a big plus compared to truck-based EarthRoamer (ER). That is a very inviting space, would make a fantastic work area, and makes the box feel more airy. To get that with an ER, you have to step up to the commercial HD platform, which is just too big and expensive.
I will say the ER has much better, luxe finishes. It also seems as if they have more storage. They are also known quantity so that helps with resale.
I love the Earthroamers, and they do quality work, but an LTI starts at $730,000 these days and a preroamed ones starts above $400,000. The Hilt starts at $446,322 new. Given the dinette design and the cost savings, I could see going with the Hilt.
take it to Alaska!!!!♥♥♥
Wow, it is a beast, but way above my pay grade!
Will any of these be out this year?
I want one.
did I miss the cooker? with the wall ventilator in the bathroom in mind, I wonder whether the company can do custom jobs, such as fitting a slip cooker extractor over the cooker, with a wall outlet of the same kind as the one in the bathroom?
Yes you did miss it. Double induction stove top. They don’t do anything custom, these are all a standard floor plan
I've been a big fan of EarthRoamer for a long time but one of the problems of had with them is their interior layout.... I love the layout of this vehicle and if they're willing to customize a few things that the customers might want this is going to be a serious competitor to EarthRoamer.
What about the ER don’t you like?
@@Weretherussos The rear dinette with big windows on three sides is a nicer layout... it just makes for a nicer, sunnier, airier, more pleasant place to spend time. It is a much better layout to optimize having the natural world as open, accessible, and visible as possible. Side dinettes with the rear of the camper used for baths and storage feel closed in and shut off.
Also, the cabinet work is nice and reasonably understated (although the lighting at the floor is too much for me), and with the amount of natural light and the color scheme for the camper reviewed here, the interior just seemed lighter and more natural and fitting with being out in the natural world, and not so dark and McMansion lavish.
EarthRoamer is the way to go if you're going to go into this territory. Yes this is cheaper but it shows and if you're going to blow half a million on an RV you can probably spend more if something like this is what you want.
Individual independent suspension.
Another great video Joe. My interests are how long can you last in the wild just using solar? How long does it take to charge the battery while driving, and how long do you think the water would last you out in the desert without being able to replenish?
I would say indefinitely with solar unless you’re running the AC. Don’t know about charging and we could probably go about 20+ days with the water (20 gallons now lasts us about 5 days).
Nice but missing a washer-dryer combo and more
Hi Russo Family-can you please share your thoughts on Alaskan Flatbed Campers (or experiences) ? Thanks 4 all u guys do. Matt G
Sorry we don’t have any experience with them just our Four Wheel Camper
Beautiful machine.. I'd love to own it one day
Put my name on one early this morning. Waiting to speak to someone about the details. Lots of Questions. Amazing rig for the $. There is nothing better built than by Storyteller. The Lithium battery system "WOW". Im a Beast owner. Only negative I see is the 4.5 gallon cassette toilet & small Grey tank. Should have had a black tank with macerator. Hoping I can see one before they're out. Great video. Always love your content. Get it out for a weekend trip for us to see it in use.
Well the cassette is much more versatile if you take it beyond US borders as most other countries don’t have the facilities for you to dump a black tank.
Nice but needs a bigger gray water tank.
not sure if the suspension is working properly as it swings left and right going through the rough road. It seems like it could flip over easily with a little bit of wind and wrong swing timing on a steeper road.
