You control your actions, your behavior, not others Is the base of that I’m presuming which I get, but still somewhat funny especially the GRamsay one 🤣
Hilarious interaction between Marco and Philip Schofield. Marco is a proper man, cool as a cucumber, a master of his craft and he knows it. Schofield is a nicey nicey, politically correct little ponce who says what everybody wants to hear. Marco is streets ahead and it really shows here
Marco isnt an imbecile. In this interview, hes playing the game, he knows its just a route for daytime viewers to tap into the show hes promoting. What I like is the presenters are almost scared. Why be scared of Marco, he commands respect because he is quite frankly, one of the greatest chef's in the world.
I didn't think this was an awkward interview at all. That's just Marco being Marco. He's quiet, contemplative, intense - and cooler than any rock or sport star on the planet.
But thats.....thats how marco IS. To be anything else would be being fake, contrived and pretty pointless. He does speak quietly. he does pause for a long time, hes always been that way. I would rather someone be honest about their feelings, mood, opinions etc than just lie for the cameras. Thats what makes marco great; he's honest and open and genuine. I guess I just have a long standing hatred for anything contrived or fake. I like honesty in people.
This is a guy who has devoted his life to food and preparing food for others. When you love something that much you can describe it in any form you choose. Ramsay's the same but watch Hells Kitchen USA, he craves the camera more than the food.
Marco's calm and colective response to Anthea rearranging his kitchen: "Of course she will...she will have all the time to do it, won't she?":))))) - GENIUS.
They tried to demonize him and failed. He's just sitting an looking with his genuine face. The hosts are putting on an artificually happy affect, that they never have when alone.. MPW is just himself.
That's so true what he said, that is closest to the bed wisdom you'll hear on tv in years. Were all responsible for ourselves and our feelings are no exception. So fucking true.
He doesn't wear your typical kitchen hat type things because he thinks it'll make him look like tommy cooper, hence the head scarf. Truth. Yes, he is kinda mad, but madness always comes with genius.
Its sad when someone speaking slowly, concisely, sincerely and with thought is seen as 'awkward'. Presumably, had he bantered inanely and insincerely with some forced laughter, people would have been much more comfortable. Urgh.
Marco is the best. He is a sublime genius and a god of a chef. Check out the young Marco clips on youtube. Makes me want to reach for my knorr stock cubes :-)
This was a brilliant and hilarious interview. He wasn't necessarily moody or anything, he just adapted to the environment. When Phil looked at the camera with a distraught look I nearly laughed out loud, he nearly shat himself
@Italblessings Yes. The man's Calf Liver Rissotto with fetal asparagus nurdlings on a bed of dessicated almonds and rotted Sargasso Seaweed drizzled with Narwhal precome will far outlive anything that Lightweight Michaelangelo daubed on the Sistine Chapel ceiling. Marco is indeed sublime. He steams his Christmas Pudding in Tracey Emins soiled knickers. nOW tHaTs Art
Reporter ask first question; Marco changed from a defensive posture to a softer stance. He then experienced delight as he was thrown off guard and became interested.
@jessc1979 Don't kid yourself, although Marco comes across as very sympathetic he and Ramsay both have the ego of a continent. I am pretty sure that when you would have worked under Marco when he was 28 it would have been just as worse as with Ramsay when he was 28.
There are long silences before he is answering, and he comes across as very aloof, hence why I think this is uncomfortable. I know people want to pause for thought but he just waits too long. As for the 'I think your intimidated by him' comment, where did you get that from? I just said it was uncomfortable, so I don't know what your thought process was behind that. And finally it should be 'you're intimidated' not 'your'.
There is a portrait of Churchill looking incredibly grumpy because someone has just taken away his cigar. Marco quite possibly hasn't had a cigarette for a while and is similarly pissed off.
some of you guys really need to remember, these are celebrities. Marco isn't going to swear at celebrities, even when they all pretty much know eachother. since this is celebs in that season he is obviously going to tone it down quite a bit but still at the same time be honest.
You said Marco made you feel uncomfortable, so I automatically assumed you felt intimidated. The reason he makes you cringe is maybe because of an insecurity within you, that you're not aware of or admitting to. Just listen to Marco's voice: he thinks momentarily and responds with a smile, and you have to take into account that he is the chef in 'Hell's Kitchen', so maybe he's partly playing a character. Marco is serious about his art, but he enjoys a laugh too. And stop being so pedantic!
@jessc1979 Take it from someone who's worked in lots of different restaurant kitchens: most good chefs are complete megalomaniacs... And with that comes a pinch of arrogance. Maybe it's just 'cause they know they're good at what they're doing? ;)
What's so awkward about it, he's just laid back, honest, quite charming, and yet formidable; but I do think at times he's playing a character, whereas Gordon Ramsey is for real!
Fuck me, he's an assassin. He makes Ramsay look like precisely what he is: a total, pufffed-up, over-extended, very uncool, classless, bullshitting chancer and a girl. And Pierre-White just privately knows that that will always be true, which is why he will always be cool.
"I do not have the ability to intimidate anybody, they do it to themselves" single handedly on of the most intimidating things I've heard
You missed the point
They do have humour where you're from, don't they?
he said something similar about ramsay: 'i didnt make him cry, he made himself cry'
made me laugh.
he didn't make you laugh. You made yourself laugh
You control your actions, your behavior, not others
Is the base of that I’m presuming which I get, but still somewhat funny especially the GRamsay one 🤣
I LOVE THAT HE ALWAYS WEARS THOSE CHEQUERED VANS
Marco snorted a Knorr stockpot to prepare for this interview
Just like you snorted heroin, you idiot junkie.
you don't snort a Knorr stockpot. You place it in your mouth and then pour boiling water inside.
Hilarious interaction between Marco and Philip Schofield. Marco is a proper man, cool as a cucumber, a master of his craft and he knows it. Schofield is a nicey nicey, politically correct little ponce who says what everybody wants to hear. Marco is streets ahead and it really shows here
I definetely see a change from him than his younger days, like he more relaxed and enlightened. This guy is cool as hell.
agreed, would definitely massage his meat

sort out your apostrophes
THE greatest
@Ruslan Masinjila yes, several times over the years
and it's their choice to be scared.
Marco, for me, is on par with Christopher Walken on his presence. Intimidating, scary but can be good.
I didn't think this was an awkward interview at all. That's just Marco being Marco. He's quiet, contemplative, intense - and cooler than any rock or sport star on the planet.

"Be honest with what you cook." - Marco Pierre White
He really makes u want to listen more and more
my goodness, Marco Pierre White is one attractive man! I feel like a teenager again!
This is a guy who has devoted his life to food and preparing food for others. When you love something that much you can describe it in any form you choose. Ramsay's the same but watch Hells Kitchen USA, he craves the camera more than the food.

Not in the slightest awkward. He is extremely intriguing. I can't take my eyes off him.
That's so true what he said, that is closest to the bed wisdom you'll hear on tv in years. Were all responsible for ourselves and our feelings are no exception. So fucking true.
What a look in the start..staring to the camera. He has charisma I can't explain.
lolz if they only knew. Marco was terror in the kitchen back in the day. He's mellowed out in his later years.
the way he sits and talks he reminds me of al pacino in the godfather..lol
you can hear in phil's voice he let himself be intimidated at about 5:50 lol
I don't know if he deliberately put it on, though.
Phil looked a bit nervous when he was interviewing Marco. He was very "cautious" how he asked Marco certain questions...lol!!
wouldn't like to piss him off
local Leeds lad
Unlike Gordon Ramsay, Marco doesn't use disrespect to try and motivate. He uses inspiration.
Absolute genius
Wearing a sport coat and checkered slip on Vans. Gotta love Marco.
Urgh.
Exactly
People are idiots, unfortunately
Rocking those checkered board vans
Marco is the best. He is a sublime genius and a god of a chef. Check out the young Marco clips on youtube.
Makes me want to reach for my knorr stock cubes :-)
"Sometimes they just can't help themselves can they?" hahahahahahaha pre-emptive sackings
LOL His pose at the beginning.
What an introduction. 😁
I like Ramsay, but he was never as dedicated as Marco
Every day Gordon Ramsay wakes up and wishes he was his master Marco Pierre White.
He has no reason to
This was a brilliant and hilarious interview. He wasn't necessarily moody or anything, he just adapted to the environment. When Phil looked at the camera with a distraught look I nearly laughed out loud, he nearly shat himself
marcos very reserved
I love that vans shoes. You rock MPW
Marco is a genius.
GOAT! Greatest of all time
Marco is a very interesting character, he actually shows quite a few traits of a legit psychopath.
Many psychopaths are incredibly calming
Legend
'credit crunch'!? can't remember the last time I heard that expression
Excellent summation!

Love how Marco's assessment of Ade turned out to be spot on too.
Thank-you Michelle! Godspeed!!! ♥♥♥
3:33 classic 😂
the father of television cooking.
i love how he says "celebs" :L
aww he's so wise :) - we love the great white.
@Italblessings knorr stock cubes are awesome , I've done loads of his recipes using them and they are fantastic
Back when interviews used to be pleasant, interesting and informative.
I doubt at this time though that Gordon would be intimidated though. however, Both Gordon and Marco teach differently and it works for them.
He looks devine.
We both are Sagittaurus…it is..like he talks from my mouth…straight. And the way it is.
@simonbath you should have stuck it and watched, it was a pretty interesting interview once you get past the long intro.
The guy is awesome, but like an awesome-scary type of awesome.
English manners Italian Respect.Very interesting.
what a character, love to work with him
Marco is awesome!
He's a happy chap when he said he missed being in the kitchen
Reporter ask first question; Marco changed from a defensive posture to a softer stance. He then experienced delight as he was thrown off guard and became interested.
I love how he makes intimidation everybody else's fault.
No, he said that dont be upset. Listen and learn and suck it up. This is how he learned
i love him
"I will never disrespect them" ...
@jessc1979 Don't kid yourself, although Marco comes across as very sympathetic he and Ramsay both have the ego of a continent. I am pretty sure that when you would have worked under Marco when he was 28 it would have been just as worse as with Ramsay when he was 28.
when he says 'firm' i just melted..
This guy is so fuckin calm but looks deadly at the same time like a shark waiting to attack...
heard he made chef ramsay cry awesome
the "look" phil gives is a comic look, and marco was puting on that mood when he said i sack them,
@steph2k1uk I'm pretty sure Marco doesn't need to be shown how to do anything in the kitchen. He's just fine on his own.
fair enough.
0:03 he look like leonardo da vinci of cooking..very inspirational.
The worst mistake they could make is soiling the pass!
@steph2k1uk Marco would knock Nick Nairn out if he came shouting his mouth off in Marco's kitchen.
i like this guy
What a legend.

@ludocrat Sorry, just checking , but he is a COOK isn't her?
I thought maybe he was a Secret Agent or something.
...Or something important?
I'd love to see Marco Pierre White and Alan Rickman together.
Monterys Velaryon 😢😢
Are you SUGGESTING you'd like to be the FILLING in a Marco and Alan SANDWICH !! WHAT !????? NAUGHTY !!
@Velasca haha that would be great
hey does he have a video

He looks a bit stoned...
2 people got thrown out of marcos kitchen

This was Gordon Ramsey's boss for along time so there must be some truth in his madness
here i just noticed, she's got a fair old set of shirt potatoes
what was in his shopping trolly?
'No wonder you work at Tesco'
@jessc1979 Take it from someone who's worked in lots of different restaurant kitchens: most good chefs are complete megalomaniacs... And with that comes a pinch of arrogance. Maybe it's just 'cause they know they're good at what they're doing? ;)
As an ex chef I agree I'm still like that but to be successful in that insane world you have to be like that .
THE MAN IS A TRUE GENIUS
lucky !
What's so awkward about it, he's just laid back, honest, quite charming, and yet formidable; but I do think at times he's playing a character, whereas Gordon Ramsey is for real!
I was cringing when i was watching this. It's so uncomfortable.
Actually in Marco's younger days at harveys he was hot tempered and would be verbally abusive and in some cases violent towards his staff.
"Actually" ... PEOPLE mature....right?
Nick Nairn is the best chef.
@Talaayn Did he sniff his fruit?
god he's hot.
Yum :)

@steveh777ify
