While yes, Lunar did need a reality check, but it seems like the astrals don’t realize that healing is not linear. Healing includes both bad days and good days, and with the level of unaddressed trauma Lunar has, it’s going to be a very bumpy recovery. (Also, props to Reed and all of the voice actors for how well they portray morally gray characters).
First of all yeah let give them a hand for staying in character and second you have point. When it comes to healing it's not gonna be instant unless you choose to make yourself emotionless

Then he would be aware that Lunar’s emotional idiocy is because Evil Eclipse who was his first connection didn’t show him love so Lunar had no clue what love looked like at all in any form! EXACTLY!!! sure, Sun and Moon showed him actual love and care after the first takeover, but now, looking back at it, he never knew how to actually feel because of how Eclipse treated him. all he knew was fear, hate, and he was used to it after a little over one month. he still is used to it because he still has no idea how to even think an emotion, he just forces what he thinks is right in the moment and then he explodes when it doesnt work because he's frustrated that he cant figure it out.
@ yes, but also add any form of reminding him it's done out of love. otherwise, he might think back to his first time simply existing around Eclipse. be stern, but remind him you still love him.
I agree and plus shouldn't they try to help luna like: make him meditate for ab 2 weeks alone in the forest. or Have libera/torus check in on him. But castor dose have point if he ruin then his progress of emotinal baggages goes down the drain

True true. They've tried but when they give him something and it doesn't work in there favor they move to one their own problems. Of course everyone in this show has there plate full (idk really about the astrals) but they seem to be forgetting that lunar's it full too, and if I dare say a little overfull. The tears he sheds are added to a cup, over the year this cup has been filled a lot faster then everyone else's, these tear's are kept in check and don't go over the line, but for lunar it's still dripping, these few time it drips and it overflows, he scrambled the wipe it up but everyone judges him instead. Making him cry more which then makes it over flow multiple times. He tried to wipe it and in equivalent (besides Earth who actually tried a little longer) gave him a square or thin tissue. Tissue paper leaves residue and doesn't clean water well
Exactly! What they're saying won't help him, except maybe that he dealt with Ruin the wrong way. But them yelling at him that he's messing everything up and isn't fixing it fast enough will not help him with anything at all. They criticize Lunar for how he deals with emotions, but they've admitted they don't understand what emotions are like for him. Why do they act like they're experts on a topic they could not know less about? This episode didn't feel like much of a reality check, more like Caster just wants to ignore all the progress Lunar has made because despite what the Astrals think, Lunar has been making a lot of progress given how much time has passed.
I love Castor, I do. Lunar has a pretty firm grip on reality at this point. He never WANTED to snap on Earth. No one is listening to Lunar, hes trying to fix himself and its like everyone is blind to that face. You have setbacks in recovery, its. Bound. To. Happen. Literally like everyone snaps, bursts or explodes. It's normal. I get that Lunar hurt earth but it wasn't exactly on purpose, otherwise if it was he would have done it earlier to earth. And two, you're right, at least he isn't turning into Nexus. He's trying but everyone is pushing him too much. Like I GET IT, he needs to work on certain things but HE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT ANY HELP. At this point theyre pressuring Lunar into getting over his stuff, like, he just started to try and they expect for him to be better in 2 weeks??? (I hope that somehow the talk to Earth will finally give him a break of all of this pressuring, tho i doubt it) I know he messed up big time, but they keep kicking him and crushing his tiny progress with "youre doing it wrong". How many reality checks does he need?- I feel like everyone is telling lunar to get better, to improve, to have normal emotions. But lunar has never learned how to have those, so he pretends to have them and eventually he loses it and hurts someone and the cycle repeats over and over

To me, it feels like they're trying to PUSH/FORCE him in a way. Like it's the pressure and the thoughts that are like:"You have to improve, Otherwise you're a monster." or something like that. While yes, Lunar needed the reality check, i don't think he's really being taught HOW to deal with these emotions. He doesn't really have an outlet, which is why his emotions explode. He knows how to bottle them up, probably due to having lived in Moon's head. He just keeps being told to "deal with it". And yes, talking about his trauma and working through it helps, but he's being told that he can't be angry or upset. He has every right to be upset. To feel angry. He needs a different way to let it out, but he doesn't really have that as far as i know? That's just my thoughts tho :/

@@isabellawolf7465 yea, i mean. It is stated that Lunar is an adult, but he has childlike behaviours, likely as a coping mechanism. I personally see him more like...a teen? Because he's trying to grow up and be better. But also, he never had much of a chance to just. Be a kid? I don't think he wants that power anymore either, or at least not the biggest parts of it, like..the more destructive stuff. Like..he does mention he'd like to fly, but he doesn't seem to care about all the other abilities he had. Really what Lunar mostly need is to figure out a healthy outlet for all that emotion, anger and sadness. Castor went with a balloon metaphor, but apparently didn't think about how much that balloon can even take before popping on itself. And that's the problem. Lunar is trying, and he's struggling, but he's also been through so much, that trying to find healthy coping mechanisms can seem like an impossibility without help. And currently, Lunar is basically on his own. I get that Sun, Moon and the rest of their family want Lunar out of the house because of the kids, and they do offer at least financial support and all. And Earth is understandably upset and still adjusting, so i get why she might not be able to help currently. But now Lunar has no one to really even turn to anymore. And that's honestly scary. And yet he pulls through, having actually gone to talk with Eclipse. Only to now come home and be told he's not doing enough basically. One of the first things lunar needs to accept in order to get better is that he may NEVER become an astral; if he goes into it thinking that if he gets better than he’ll get his powers back and fulfill his “purpose” in becoming an astral he will never truly get better

I noticed that myself. I mean, obviously it's the same VA, but like, Castors voice is usually more softer than Moons. The way I'm figuring it is either #1: Reed kinda forgot how Castor was supposed to sound, or #2: Reed voiced Castor like that intentionally so that Castors anger is clearly communicated, because yes, Castor is absolutely angry about things and at Lunar.

And when he did that, all of a sudden it's not right to get angry to a person that (in some aspect) DESERVES it. Castor is literally weaponizing his emotions (Which he has no right to do because he can't even understand emotions)
I have to say, I’m not saying anything lunars done is right, but speaking from a logical point, no one’s teaching him how to be better.. when someone is traumatized to such an extreme point, they don’t know what’s fully normal or expected. Lunar has had so much happen to him since he was created, and yes, he did resist getting proper help because he figured he was fine, but he needs to be taught how to improve… even for humans it’s so difficult to improve and get better without being given some lead to follow. Hopefully his talk with earth starts to help him a bit.

Castor basically telling Lunar to get therapy. Which...Who does he go to? Earth is too close to home, Eclipse while a good option wouldn't be perfect, no normal therapist can handle all of this. Okay, as much as I love the astrals, it's hard to tell someone what to do with their emotions when you don't feel or truly understand it themselves. Lunar had been abused by his brother and is emotionally stunted. Gaining emotional maturity isn't something you learn in a few days. It does take time and it doesn't help that others keep piling on how disappointed they are in him. It just makes what little progress he's made meaningless because it's not happening as fast as everyone wants. I don't like that.

I wish most people understood that. Castor and Gemenis really frustrate me a lot. Their relationship with Lunar is toxic to the point of rage and makes me hate them when they talk seriously with Lunar because they only spit out their contempt and disappointment in the most aggressive and abusive way possible. Lunar is a character who has not had the opportunity to learn in a healthy way. Two years and he has only known verbal abuse and situations where emotions are not handled well. He has allowed himself to be mistreated by those he has loved and although I am not going to treat Lunar as if he has not made serious mistakes, I can confirm that there is no opportunity for learning because every time he makes mistakes he receives these types of abusive and angry talks. And this 'Reality check' has been frustrating for me because even if he tries and makes a true effort and true sincere progress, he cannot feel fulfilled because he only hears that he is a failure and how he is a disappointment that everyone hates. I think I'm mostly frustrated because I feel like 1- people are giving Castor the right and thinking Lunar deserves it 2- I really feel like the plot is giving Castor the right. As if Lunar is the one doing things wrong . Even now. Maybe I'm speaking out of anger right now and seeing certain comments has frustrated me even more but I really feel like it's very toxic how people are mistaking this for normal.

I would like to say that while talking to lunar about emotions and exploding at others castor was doing pretty much just that, lunar was calm, and trying to be respectful, he wasn't sure what to say and you cant just yell at him for that, he is trying his hardest and that is what counts
I don't think people are getting what Castor is ACTUALLY saying. He doesn’t want Lunar to repress his emotions, but DEAL WITH THEM IN A HEALTHY WAY. The entire issue was that Lunar was, in fact, repressing his emotions. He isn’t telling Lunar to not get mad, because otherwise Castor wouldn’t be getting angry at this. He is telling Lunar to realize that, by blowing up at people, he could harm them. He refused to even see things from Ruin’s perspective and lashed out. He could have ignored Ruin and gotten angry in a different environment, calmly ask Ruin to leave him alone and walk away, or literally anything else. Yes, Lunar is allowed to make mistakes, but the problem is that he isn’t reflecting on said mistakes. Castor has every right to be angry, and I hate how people treat the astrals like emotionless beings who don’t understand on some level how Lunar feels. This conversation just proves that ASTRALS HAVE EMOTIONS. Pollux and Castor feel angry at Lunar, and in some way hurt, which are both emotions. they obviously don’t experience it like our protagonists do, but they still feel.

Speaking from expirence- Its been 5 years and I don't like hearing abt stuff abt my mums ex and sometimes my mum And yes- he needs to be better but- does he know how to? Probably not. To be fair with Lunar he would’ve stayed in Eclipse’s dimension longer to fix his problems, but due to the drama of the others trying to kick out Puppet he decided to leave. He can still try cope about other stuff but it will take a while trust me. Either it would be like how lunar was before and not try to think about it, or he will attempt to deal with his emotions and trauma better and even then it can easily be triggered if something bad happens as well as the fact on certain days it could be better or worse. I am not being biased I just hate how they are acting , and I think I in someway understand how he feels he genuinely didn’t want to hurt earth, he doesn’t see a reason to forgive a murderer who killed 5000+ dimensions just cause of his situation, he never saw the change in this eclipse and only heard about it from someone he cares about ( and remember she forgives decently fast, almost forgives everyone and the creator had programmed her to not be able to distinguish lie from truth in creator’s words which means it could be used on anyone as long as they genuinely try) yet never seeing the change and I didn’t make it better that Eclipse didn’t even bother with acting like he changed which he doesn’t need to necessarily, and he was never taught how to regulate his emotions whether it be by Eclipse ( first person he knew, and instead of at least pretending to act like he cared he hurt Lumar physically and mentally); Sun ( puts others before himself which is unhealthy ); Solar ( doesn’t really show that much emotion); Nexus ( his emotions when grieving drove him to what he became and ended up killing him); Moon ( repressed his emotions ,and shared the same body together so it would easily influence him) and many others. So there is no reason they should only be going after Lunar especially with what others had done and if they will go off about his emotions say that to Earth, to Sun, to Jack and Dazzle, and many others it only fair, but they won’t they will only go after Lunar and remember Sun did the exact same thing. I will say this. The astrals are slightly pissing me off, I get they do not feel emotions like them, but they need to learn and understand that TRAUMA does not go away easily. Lunar was abused. In fact, He was originally made as a distraction to eclipse's plan. Lunar's trauma isn't just physical and mental but he is deeply scarred and it's not going to just HAPPEN overnight or in a couple months. From someone who has suffered from emotional and physical abuse, I understand Lunar and the astrals should really try to understand better. I wanna see Taurus, Castor and Pollux taken to the past to see what truly happened to lunar to understand

While yes, Lunar did need a reality check, but it seems like the astrals don’t realize that healing is not linear. Healing includes both bad days and good days, and with the level of unaddressed trauma Lunar has, it’s going to be a very bumpy recovery. (Also, props to Reed and all of the voice actors for how well they portray morally gray characters).

The tears he sheds are added to a cup, over the year this cup has been filled a lot faster then everyone else's, these tear's are kept in check and don't go over the line, but for lunar it's still dripping, these few time it drips and it overflows, he scrambled the wipe it up but everyone judges him instead. Making him cry more which then makes it over flow multiple times. He tried to wipe it and in equivalent (besides Earth who actually tried a little longer) gave him a square or thin tissue.

But them yelling at him that he's messing everything up and isn't fixing it fast enough will not help him with anything at all. Why do they act like they're experts on a topic they could not know less about? This episode didn't feel like much of a reality check, more like Caster just wants to ignore all the progress Lunar has made because despite what the Astrals think, Lunar has been making a lot of progress given how much time has passed.

While yes, Lunar needed the reality check, i don't think he's really being taught HOW to deal with these emotions. He doesn't really have an outlet, which is why his emotions explode. He knows how to bottle them up, probably due to having lived in Moon's head. He just keeps being told to "deal with it". And yes, talking about his trauma and working through it helps, but he's being told that he can't be angry or upset. He has every right to be upset. To feel angry. I don't think he wants that power anymore either, or at least not the biggest parts of it, like..the more destructive stuff. Like..he does mention he'd like to fly, but he doesn't seem to care about all the other abilities he had.
Really what Lunar mostly need is to figure out a healthy outlet for all that emotion, anger and sadness. Castor went with a balloon metaphor, but apparently didn't think about how much that balloon can even take before popping on itself. And that's the problem. Lunar is trying, and he's struggling, but he's also been through so much, that trying to find healthy coping mechanisms can seem like an impossibility without help. And currently, Lunar is basically on his own. I get that Sun, Moon and the rest of their family want Lunar out of the house because of the kids, and they do offer at least financial support and all. And Earth is understandably upset and still adjusting, so i get why she might not be able to help currently. But now Lunar has no one to really even turn to anymore. And that's honestly scary. And yet he pulls through, having actually gone to talk with Eclipse. Only to now come home and be told he's not doing enough basically. It'd be completely broken down if that were me tbh- so Lunar still pressing on is really good...he doesn't give up. Because he wants his family back.

I have to say, I’m not saying anything lunars done is right, but speaking from a logical point, no one’s teaching him how to be better.. when someone is traumatized to such an extreme point, they don’t know what’s fully normal or expected.
Lunar has had so much happen to him since he was created, and yes, he did resist getting proper help because he figured he was fine, but he needs to be taught how to improve… even for humans it’s so difficult to improve and get better without being given some lead to follow.

Okay, as much as I love the astrals, it's hard to tell someone what to do with their emotions when you don't feel or truly understand it themselves. Lunar had been abused by his brother and is emotionally stunted. Gaining emotional maturity isn't something you learn in a few days. It does take time and it doesn't help that others keep piling on how disappointed they are in him. It just makes what little progress he's made meaningless because it's not happening as fast as everyone wants. I don't like that.

I wish most people understood that. Castor and Gemenis really frustrate me a lot. Their relationship with Lunar is toxic to the point of rage and makes me hate them when they talk seriously with Lunar because they only spit out their contempt and disappointment in the most aggressive and abusive way possible. Lunar is a character who has not had the opportunity to learn in a healthy way. Two years and he has only known verbal abuse and situations where emotions are not handled well. He has allowed himself to be mistreated by those he has loved and although I am not going to treat Lunar as if he has not made serious mistakes, I can confirm that there is no opportunity for learning because every time he makes mistakes he receives these types of abusive and angry talks. And this 'Reality check' has been frustrating for me because even if he tries and makes a true effort and true sincere progress, he cannot feel fulfilled because he only hears that he is a failure and how he is a disappointment that everyone hates. I think I'm mostly frustrated because I feel like
1- people are giving Castor the right and thinking Lunar deserves it
2- I really feel like the plot is giving Castor the right. As if Lunar is the one doing things wrong . Even now.
Maybe I'm speaking out of anger right now and seeing certain comments has frustrated me even more but I really feel like it's very toxic how people are mistaking this for normal.

I don't think people are getting what Castor is ACTUALLY saying. He doesn’t want Lunar to repress his emotions, but DEAL WITH THEM IN A HEALTHY WAY. The entire issue was that Lunar was, in fact, repressing his emotions. He isn’t telling Lunar to not get mad, because otherwise Castor wouldn’t be getting angry at this. He is telling Lunar to realize that, by blowing up at people, he could harm them. He refused to even see things from Ruin’s perspective and lashed out. He could have ignored Ruin and gotten angry in a different environment, calmly ask Ruin to leave him alone and walk away, or literally anything else. Yes, Lunar is allowed to make mistakes, but the problem is that he isn’t reflecting on said mistakes.
Castor has every right to be angry, and I hate how people treat the astrals like emotionless beings who don’t understand on some level how Lunar feels. This conversation just proves that ASTRALS HAVE EMOTIONS. Pollux and Castor feel angry at Lunar, and in some way hurt, which are both emotions. they obviously don’t experience it like our protagonists do, but they still feel.

To be fair with Lunar he would’ve stayed in Eclipse’s dimension longer to fix his problems, but due to the drama of the others trying to kick out Puppet he decided to leave. He can still try cope about other stuff but it will take a while trust me. Either it would be like how lunar was before and not try to think about it, or he will attempt to deal with his emotions and trauma better and even then it can easily be triggered if something bad happens as well as the fact on certain days it could be better or worse.
Also something to point out the astrals have no right telling him what to do with his emotions since they never bothered trying to understand. The only astrals to even try was Gemini, also known as Pollux and Castor, and even then they didn’t have to do much they basically copied stuff from television and basically treat each other how they were treating each other beforehand. So the astrals telling Lunar to get better and not giving him his time to do so is annoying.
I am not being biased I just hate how they are acting , and I think I in someway understand how he feels he genuinely didn’t want to hurt earth, he doesn’t see a reason to forgive a murderer who killed 5000+ dimensions just cause of his situation, he never saw the change in this eclipse and only heard about it from someone he cares about ( and remember she forgives decently fast, almost forgives everyone and the creator had programmed her to not be able to distinguish lie from truth in creator’s words which means it could be used on anyone as long as they genuinely try) yet never seeing the change and I didn’t make it better that Eclipse didn’t even bother with acting like he changed which he doesn’t need to necessarily, and he was never taught how to regulate his emotions whether it be by Eclipse ( first person he knew, and instead of at least pretending to act like he cared he hurt Lumar physically and mentally); Sun ( puts others before himself which is unhealthy ); Solar ( doesn’t really show that much emotion); Nexus ( his emotions when grieving drove him to what he became and ended up killing him); Moon ( repressed his emotions ,and shared the same body together so it would easily influence him) and many others.
So there is no reason they should only be going after Lunar especially with what others had done and if they will go off about his emotions say that to Earth, to Sun, to Jack and Dazzle, and many others it only fair, but they won’t they will only go after Lunar and remember Sun did the exact same thing. I’m done with my “little” rant take this as you will. Bye now

I will say this. The astrals are slightly pissing me off, I get they do not feel emotions like them, but they need to learn and understand that TRAUMA does not go away easily. Lunar was abused. In fact, He was originally made as a distraction to eclipse's plan. Lunar's trauma isn't just physical and mental but he is deeply scarred and it's not going to just HAPPEN overnight or in a couple months. From someone who has suffered from emotional and physical abuse, I understand Lunar and the astrals should really try to understand better. I wanna see Taurus, Castor and Pollux taken to the past to see what truly happened to lunar to understand
