@@asher-u7l Yes I did but for me I had a problem with the belts and sound from my one. In order to get good sound I either had to listen to the left side or right side and not the middle
Hello, I also own a Sanyo M4440 and intend to repair it. Do you have a list of the required capacitors? No need for a link to order or anything, just a simple bill of material. Would be great, so I could order all parts before opening the cassette player. Thank you in advance.
I've had that problem too. There are few things that might cause the problem and I still have it kinda[1.]. 1. The headphone jack, I can't fully insert the jack. It has to slightly be out to hear both sides. I even resoldered the jack to the circuit board. I believe that perhaps back in the 80s the official sanyo headphones jack where slightly longer or there was a spacer or something like that to accommodate that space. 2. Leaking/ dead capacitors. 3. Audio ICs 4. Very unlikely to be the head it self, but still a possibility. Maybe check the wires.
I understood that it was not actually a Walkman, and Walkman is actually a trademark of Sony( brand name for it portable cassette player line up). I said it for simplicity sake, since almost everyone calls a portable cassette player from the 80s and 90s Walkmans. But yea.. I understand your pain... sorry dude.
Definitely don't use WD-40, for one thing WD-40 isn't a lubricant, it's a water dispersant, that evaporates and leaves residue. Sewing machine oil is fine, or 3-in-one electric motor oil is good as well, as those don't have any detergents in them.
hi there ve a question i ve the same sanyo m4440 walkman .it dosent work well by the female conector 3.5mm no sounds of any kind comes out.it's as if you didn't have anything connected it doesn't make any noise would it have to do with amplifiers or preamps or it could be the 3.5 mm connection tab ?thanks for help

@@gamerae86 I have this exact same issue. Even installed a different headphone jack from a similar player: no R sound
If you ever figured it out I'd love to know
Wish people would stop calling these Walkman’s. It’s not a Walkman.

I have a craig cassette player made in 2016 that i bought at a Wal-Mart in texas for my birthday now i am 12
That`s good to hear, I`m glad you got a cassette player for your birthday. How do you feel about it so far ?
It's better to use sewing machine oil instead of WD40
Do these Sanyo portable cassette players take a special set of headphones?
My M4430 only plays out of one side. Otherwise everything else works.
