I love aputure stuff. I’ve used a ton of their lights in narrative, studio and doc work. I brought a small but decent grip and electric kit on a feature doc last summer and my favorite moment was shooting inside an old church with only a couple MC Pros that I chose to use so I could match that ambient light color with all the stained glass wood and old light fixtures in the church. Just used the MCs for fill and ended up being my favorite setup for the whole film.
How do you do it when you fly with your Batterie Lamps? Some have built-in batteries. Don't they have to go in your hand luggage? I'm a cameraman myself and I always take the battery lights in my hand luggage instead of checking them in. Am I wrong? I really like and enjoying your videos.
I shot some interviews this weekend for a client. I used aN Apurture P300c Nova as my Key and a 60d as a hair light and a bounce for fill. They were very happy with the results. I'm pretty happy with all my Apurture stuff.
I almost bought an aputure 300 for my work’s studio a couple months back but BHphoto had the 600 on sale for like $50 more so I grabbed that! It’s an incredible light and so powerful
Hey Luc, I dig your channel it is great information without pretentiousness and click bait. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience with us. You seem to be so down to earth and that is a great quality to see, feel and relate to. Thanks
I have been shooting almost exclusively with supermarket bought bulbs and a china ball. Would be nice to upgrade to a cob. Controlling light from a china ball is pretty hard without losing a lot of output, which to begin with is pretty sparse. Not a professional making money from this, not yet. But we are shooting a doc pretty soon, for a reforestation project. Quite excited for that.
Thanks for sharing your current light kit. My light kit seems change up every 18 months or so depending on what's new and I can put to use. I love the light mattes for travel. I use Intellitech which are rock solid.
As someone whose made many video essays and is gearing up (pun intended) to finally make my own ideas/movies, your channel is invaluable for equipment and practical knowledge!
Being an Aputure/Amaran fan boy myself I'll have to pass your generous offer. You didn't mention the B7C as part of your kit, maybe it is permanently installed as practical light for your YT videos. Many friendly greetings from Sweden.
Ugly location | Beautiful lighting. I will transform my unaesthetic room into a creative UA-cam studio where I will create cinematic music and dance covers and document my life through vlogs and talking head videos. I really hope I win and I will be forever grateful.
I’m starting to do a documentary about the Ukrainian peoples camping here on Finland. The campings are organiced by a small group of peoples + volunteers and one city is giving the areas for camping by free. The idea is to give a hope and good positive feelings and memories + contact to other Ukrainians who are living here + contact to Finnish peoples and maybe get some integration to going on. I’m doing it for free and the problem is electricity and lightning. I have only two small built-in battery lights. Best regards! Jukka Heikkinen Finland
4:55 I'm certain you meant to say the 60x is bi-color not full RGB. I do like the 60x being bi-color to help match the key and ambient lighting.
I was gonna say the same but you beat me to it

Great kit! Look forward to seeing how you use them in your workflow!
7:12 "Or we’ll be here all day" you say? Count me in! ;)
Agreed. I'd love to see that video!

That's the Westcott cine Book Light kit
Iʻd be interested in a video about what modifiers, stands, grip gear you use.

I appreciate that!
Thanks for this video and the contest. It’s great to see what’s on your kit.
Thanks for watching!
Strange, applied as directed. But the site says entry appears "invalid" and then says your entry was received. Glitch?

Thanks a lot!
It's really cool of you to give away your old gear; very Canadian.
As usual, so much valuable information. Bests regards from a Venezuelan follower in Panama!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing this as I didn't even know some of these lights existed. This inspires me to want to improve my lighting.
Glad I could help!
Can you check those tube lights in as baggage with the batteries built in like that? I thought that was a no-no with most airlines.
I love the infininbars but they are just so pricey
Would love a lens video!
How did you know that I'm studying light right now? 🤔🤔😁😁

So it's basically a competition between brands, who is giving you more gear for free? 🤣🤣
