At 80, I've seen how relationships can enrich our lives, but also how much work they require. At this stage, I find comfort in the simplicity of my routine and the hobbies I now have time to explore. It’s a reminder that we’re allowed to prioritize ourselves and that happiness doesn’t always need to come from someone else. Sometimes, the most fulfilling relationship is the one we have with ourselves.
Most men are very loyal, to their football team, their beer and their marriage, men are also willing to sacrifice their happiness to preserve a marriage, most men are relatively lonely in life, while women have journalists, politicians and activists on their side, so it's not exactly like we are on level terms
When you were a child and put your hand on a hot stove and were burned you remembered it for the rest of your life THE SAME LESSON IS TAUGHT WHEN YOU EXPERIENCE INFIDELITY IN A MARRIAGE
Whether one is male or female, being single in one’s older years can be one of the great gifts of life. When one becomes very old, or if one becomes ill or incapacitated, however, things may become complicated. Many older adults, who have already cared for their parents and their spouses, know how exhausting, expensive, and even frightening caregiving can be. Contemplating dating, they may realize that they don’t want to become caregivers again, especially to a prospective partner whom they may not even have met yet. At the same time, though, one may become the one who becomes ill and needs a caregiver. In that case, having a partner could become a crucial advantage, as It’s very difficult to be ill when one is alone. If older adults do decide to commit to a relationship, they might want to be very clear about how they will handle caregiving arrangements if either (or both) of them becomes ill or incapacitated.
I'm pass my fifties and single. i get to enjoy my hobbies to the fullest. My a1c is lower. I eat what i want drink what I want. Being truly happy that's the key to emotional, mental and physical health. I don't have to worry about my Grammer and spelling issues as I text this comment now. I have never felt better. If you can be single and willing to take that step? Do it! Its worth it.
@@maryamchambler7755 It will take some time for you to adjust. I read self help book. I started writing poem. Poems are my thoughts. I go to community centre and play games. I lost my husband when I was 36 years old. No body wanted to mary me so I raised my 2 children by myself. Life was tough. Luckily I have my family around me. Some how I always used to say I will have a man friend when I will retire. Luckily recently I found a nice person of my age he is still working. We have no plan to live together because we both like our freedom. So what ever you want wish for it and universe will take care of it. But keep yourself busy try new things. I am learning Japanese. I knit, paint I do everything for myself. I tried piano. I keep myself busy. I enjoy my freedom. Things happen for a reason. I studied Buddhism that was a great help for me. Buddhism is not a religion it is a way of life. It taught me self love doesn’t mean selfish. So love yourself. May you have peace 🌸
I agree and resonate with this video. And I will say that all of these can also apply to women and why we as older women stay single as well. Fir me as an older woman I find that I resonate with these as well. And also open to number 7 with an older man. Thank you for this! It is refreshing! Much appreciated! ~💜🌺🌊🙏
My wife died when I was 38. Alone to raise four little children I dated for a time but realized that I enjoy time alone, with friends and family. Too busy to feel lonely. I love exploring hobbies and becoming the best I can be focusing on being me in the world that has grown around me. This essay hits home.
Let's face it, after middle age sex only means gender. Also most old men have had enough of stress, drama, other peoples health issues, and head-games. Personal freedom is priceless.
The divorce laws in Australia are so unfair to men. At first divorced women with children living at home are financially better off but ten years later the divorced men have recovered financially but many divorced women haven’t. As a group the greatest number of homeless people are single women over the age of 55. I see lots of them on the streets of Melbourne with their trolley full of clothes.
So in other words, the selfishness that the youth in our society has adopted has reached into the world of supposedly mature people as well. I am speaking of both men and women. What a sad, egotistical, self-absorbed society we have become.
I’m 66 years old and have been living with my wife, whom I love dearly, for nearly 40 years. 🥰🥰🥰🥰I can’t imagine what it would be like if I lost her. I think I would be alone until the day I die. 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Because they are wise now.😊
I'm 63, and I choose to stay single. It's very simple. I'm free, have peace and quiet, and have no drama. I couldn't be happier.

TRUE WORDS SPOKEN RIGHT. VERY WISE COMES WITH AGE.
Absolutely. My husband died 3 years ago after 46 wonderful years together! I want to enjoy just being alone!

If two people are in the proper mindsets, marriage is wonderful! So nice to be able to lookout for each other as you get older!
Great summary video, I totally agree with all conclusions, a 78 y old widowed male. 😊
I believe for many women the same is very much similar.
Yeah the Wall is undefeated 😂 feminism rocks lol

I have always been single. I have lived alone for over 25 years. I am content with the way my life is now

Be happy. Stay single. Adopt a pet.

Marriage is great with the right person. ❤
No wife = happy life!

because I like having money in the bank and gold cards that are not maxed out .life is good.
Trust me, women have felt the same in all of these scenarios for many decades now.
Why complicate a happy life with a woman, have fun work hard and stay happy,
I’m a woman and I can’t really understand why they would want to be single who doesn’t need love and affection ❤️😊
A man can get love and affection without getting married. Same applies to women. Dating doesn't have to mean getting married :)
You don't need relationships

No sex drive that's why

Beats the alternative. 😂
That's all JUST YOUR OPINION....and....
opinions ARE NOT FACTS !!!!
They picked the wrong mate.
Seems you need to listen to the video again -- without using selective hearing.
