How to Dutch Fishtail Braid for Beginners | Missy Sue

- We're going back to the basics and learning the classic dutch fishtail braid. If you've been wanting to learn, I am sharing two ways to wear it so check out the video below and let me know which style you like best!
Fishtail braids can be one of the easiest braids to master but also one of the most time-consuming. This style of braid incorporates hair into both sides by crossing the sections underneath instead of over the top creating a "dutch" braided effect versus the traditional "french" version.I didn't come up with the names but it's how I remember the difference between the two!
Supplies: Rat-tail comb, hair elastics, hairspray.

Brunnetes will get the struggle of that braid not showing up as pretty as blonde hair.
esther reyes mine show up well when I add highlights to my hair. Your right! Your hair needs that dimension to bring out the braid. #brunettestuggles
esther reyes Its hard to get the right definition having brown hair but i find that puting in volume spray helps to bring out the braid more!
Annika Xo so true!! I fell in love with Quai texturizing hair spray. It works so well on them!

What do you use to keep the braid from falling out? I can braid some fairly complex styles but they don't last long before fraying and frizzing.

Great video! I have two questions, though: Are you wearing extensions for that hairstyle (and if yes, where did you put them)? And could you probably create an extra braids for beginners section on your website? My friend is totally clueless when it comes to braiding (as of yet), and found your website a little overwhelming when I showed it to her :)

So helpful... but I'm still struggling with making it big right at the top, especially when starting at the top of my head (no ponytail). No matter how tight I hold the pieces, the braid always ends up starting way lower than intended, and can't "fluff" out to look bigger. Maybe I'm starting with too thick a piece of hair??

my problem is that when I use to do a certain braid, I can't do other braid. Who can help me with this.
when I watch Missy's tutorials. she does them professionally like she does them everyday.
when I do a different braid, sometimes I speak aloud to myself (the same way Missy does for her viewers to catch on) and it usually helps me stay focused on how my hands are moving instead of anything else my mind may drift to. hope this helps you!! :)

It's a very good tutorial but you are skipping steps you need to make it tutorial where you're doing it from beginning to end not assuming that people can just pull it to the side and I'm actually know what they're doing hence the tutorial

You may be missing protein in your diet. Nails and girl when you body properly distributes your protein intake.
