      Because Hallmark is a competitor? When businesses see a successful model they copy it. Netflix wanted to, and perhaps nearly did, corner the entertainment market. Now that there are so many other streaming platforms, and controversy or dissatisfaction revolving around Netflix's original content, they're lagging. They're trying to recreate the sort of content consumers have left them to find.

    How did Lola not get any credit for creating that label? Hazel and Max didn’t think to be honorable business people and pay her for her marketing idea? Hazel seems so shady. Why did she even agree to the whole “ah yes, be a laborer for my farm and maybe I’ll go with your start-up because that makes sense, oh wait no it doesn’t and ha, no I won’t go with your start-up.” And the way she looks at Lola when she talks about drawing up the contract with Lola’s old firm is so unnecessarily catty.

    I hated the ending of this movie. There was nothing wrong with Adam Demos’s character choosing to live a private life and do blue collar stuff (even though he was not blue collar). Like why did he have to give up his off the grid, connected to nature existence, and become a suit and tie business man? I hate that the film assumes it’s audience would see the virtue in Adam’s character’s sacrifice.
    Boo.

    • @SlavaZone
      @SlavaZone 2 роки тому +79

      I guess they wanted to uno reverse how these movies usually go?
      Usually the woman is an independent, wealthy, hard-working business woman, with plenty of friends and a somewhat expensive lifestyle. So of course they throw her into some small, conservative, remote place, away from all her comforts and friends, which she hates at first. But then she comes to realize that, in fact, she does not want to be a modern woman who likes her own job, nice clothes, decent restaurants, and having friends...but indeed would rather give EVERYTHING up she's worked for, settle for an ok dude, and become an isolated, simple housewife. The woman COMPLETELY changes for the man. We get this weird message that this is what women actually have always wanted, they just need to find the right man to play devoted housewife for.
      This time around, the guy changes, but not necessary just for her. He realizes that he's having to live isolated in fear of being used by others, putting up walls to prevent real friendships or romances to grow. So at the end, he opens up to people. Sure, he moved to a busier area, and it was out under the "romance" genre, but ultimately this message is that you shouldn't have to hide yourself in fear. Opening up is ok. Honestly, I prefer this message 🤷‍♀️

      For an Uno reverse script it’s successful, I like what you have to say about it, and yeah I hate that “domesticated woman” trope. All valid points!
      But I couldn’t get on board with him becoming what she considered acceptable, and then it was ok to be with him. Personally, I’ve been through many relationships where the relationship became conditional on change. I’ve learned that in those instances it’s not about what needs to change, it’s about the fact that you’re with the wrong person. So in that respect, I don’t see this film as having made any progress in terms of feminine empowerment. In that light, the film advocates illusory fairytale thinking that perpetuates ill-fitting relationships 😮
      Also, opening up and embracing life is good, but I wasn’t sold on the idea that that is what he actually wanted. In addition to wanting to be out of the spot light, it seemed like he felt more at peace with nature and in the Outback than in a city, juggling accountants and watching his stock value. It wasn’t clear that his heart was in the change he made…
      But maybe that was just the bad acting and predictable writing.

During an interview on a syndicated radio program called Totally Real Exposé, she talked about the epic fall. When asked about her thoughts on the incident, she had this to say:
      Am I embarrassed that I fell? Of course. I also broke a couple ribs, thanks for asking. I had to spend a few weeks in the hospital under observation. I suffered quite a bit for an honest mistake, a momentary lapse in concentration, and now I’m trying to move on.

    Netflix started as a dvd company - you'd go into your Netflix account choose the movie and they'll mail to your house and when you was done you'll mail it back w the same envelope

      @@heatherkreulen1784 that doesn’t matter. I’m the same age as Jaime, but my dad signed up for Netflix when it first started. Jaime probably remembers this too but she’s just wondering if Netflix will release movies they’ve produced on DVD

    I need to start making note of the favorite small detail in each video. For this one it’s the slightly out of focus “paused” on a weird face zoom with the accent cert. Brought me great joy.

    2. I also like Victoria Justice.
