Behave yourselves or you get the hose again. Comments are a privilege I can turn off at any time if you can't be decent to each other. If the game hurt you, you can find Bethesda Studios on social media, unlike me.
Great video, and a great attitude towards the game and gameplay in general. This is the way.
This game really is a slow burner and the most fun the longer you take yourself time for things. When you rush throu and call it a day after like 40 hours you have literally seen nothing.
You made a lot of good observations and I do think a lot of the negativity targeting this game comes down to people's expectations and not being able to reconcile the gulf in their expectations of "Starfield" as imagined and what the game actually is. Instead of being able to find their "vibe" in a slightly different take on the same Bethesda formula, they focus instead on what's not there - which has always bothered me to the extent that much of that expectation seems naively optimistic/entitled compared to the standard on display throughout most of the modern games industry.
On the point of the main quest, the first few missions functionally are meant to help establish the setting and introduce you to the game's main mechanics. I would recommend you don't skip those for too long unless you really dislike the Constellation content and don't care about any of the companions, turning in exploration data to Constellation, or getting your first taste of Starborn powers. Everything after you collect all the Constellation members and complete the first "Power from Beyond" quest though should be done at a slow trickle until you've seen all you want of Starfield's side content. That's because I don't think the main quests are MEANT to stand on their own as a full gameplay experience, especially as you build towards the ramifications of completing the main quest , much of it (besides filling in the lore) is only largely meaningful in reflection of your own gameplay experience and investment in the galaxy. If you don't have any attachment to anything, so much of the philosophical context and sort of "meta commentary" offered by the main quest is going to be lost on you. IMO It's more of a functional framework that binds the whole game together with its new game + than say, a dramatic story that's going to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Very well said 👏
I get what people say about the planet exploration... But give it another try and fly around to at least 5 different type of planets... Do a decent amount of exploring on each one and you may change your mind. Killing Aliens is one of the easiest ways to get exp, combined with exploring POIs, it's quite fun. But like he said, don't expect to wander into a cave that houses the body of some dead king and a unique draedic sword... It ain't gonna happen...
How to have fun with star field?
Step .1) Don’t listen or read any reviews
Step .2) Play
I had a blast. I didn’t share any negative sentiments due to not comparing nor having expectations. I just played it blindly, was just it just an overall amazing experience.
In this case that is probably the best course. Negativity about big games with flaws is almost a hobby these days. That being said, I definitely see why people rely on reviews and journalism, the more limited my time and money becomes. Unfortunately even professional journalism is becoming more like fanboy commentary and jumping on these bandwagons. Us consumers just want a game that will give us the sticker price worth of our time. A game can have all kinds of flaws and disappoint the people who watched every trailer, while still meeting that standard or exceeding it for many.

You had a blast in a dead open world with nothing interesting to explore, and a story so bland it feels like chatGPT wrote it.
Actually I think chatGPT could of wrote something more interesting then starfield, maybe they should get the bot to do it if Emil cant do it to save his life.
@@jeremybolt8950 yeah, surprisingly. I really kept to the main and side quests and even the miscellaneous so I never really felt the dead open world part. Suppose I didn’t go lookin either.
@@jeremybolt8950 there is a lot to explore, all you guys do is purposely trouble yourself with exploring barren planets
Im keen to play this i make a general rule of waiting a year or so to play games.
I get the game cheap and all the problems have mostly been fixed.
Will pick up once i have cleared my backlog of games.
I think people dont get that…
…starfield is a game for trying new things or doing things ounhadnt instead of just, doing main quest for sake of main quest.
Vasco and Barret are the only main quest companions worth bringing on your crew.
Depends on how you play.
I had the male and female pirates because they don’t judge me for my misdeeds
Andreja has a pretty great questline
I let the negative reviews and comments ruin my experience of the game the first time around. I rushed through the main story, and felt underwhelmed. I recently started the game up again and have about 200 hours in this playthrough.... Wow... Seriously an incredible game. I'm going to be playing this for a long time, and this is an example that you should not let other people's opinion drown out your own.
Ship parts resesrarch tree and skills plus crafting maybe, bases as base player options to buy them and upgrade more plus 1000 more Unique ship design options etc. How about that Staff?
Spoiler Alert! The main quest line doesn't repeat. It continues. It actually references that you're replaying it. That's the real reason the beginning changes. It's main story was meant to be replayed but no one did. That's why everyone misses the main point of the game.
Excellent points! I am enjoying it using some of these tips, but will try different companions. I think a small tweak would make the Constellation companions a LOT more tolerable. Restrict philosophical conversations to the Lodge or ship. Totally immersion braking for me to be going through a dangerous area and having my companion repeatedly ask if this is a good time for personal disclosure. NO IT IS NOT, YOU IDIOT! Since they won't be making that tweak, sending them to the lodge and forgoing their perks is a great idea. Thanks.
The Isolation skill is a good one to invest in. Plus, at a certain point you get kind of OP and a companion stealing your XP gets really annoying (especially when it takes 15k to level).
@@dkindig Might do that later. Now only in the twenties and I am so bad at combat that I appreciate Andreja's help. In Fallout 4, I only take companions for story and mostly go Lone Wolf. Good idea for later on though.
@@tassey Yeah, I'm at level 17 I think, on a new playthrough and have been doing the Freestar quest, went solo mostly but definitely took Andreja with me for the 1st at the Mech Factory...
@@dkindig Always do that one first because I love the Star Eagle.
Did they ever fix that stupid bug where a pet asteroid starts following you around at random?
Actually, yes, they weirdly did
@@thayr6993 awesome, honestly that was one of the more joy sucking bugs for me
It’s easy really, either don’t install or hit uninstall and play a different game.
It just works.
Cope extra hard, you gaystation shillbot
I tried to tell you that it was smarter to simply spend $45 on Star Citizen and actually have an immersive experience
This is still the most played game of 2023 and 2024 so far, so most people are definitely having fun with 8t
How many are playing it now? Steamcharts says otherwise
Close it and open No Man's Sky
It worked like a charm for me
That broken game for 10 year olds? No thanks, you gaystation shillbot
@@user-gd2gffwea cope extra hard, you pony shillbot account
good games are made within their limitations, starfield was made despite its limitations and it really shows, from walking simulator we now have loading screen simulator
How to have fun with starfield: put it in the trash
I had the most fun after uninstalling it.
Agreed
I have fun with Starfield by not playing it anymore.
Based
Had the most fun with Starfield when I switched to CP2077.
How to have fun with Starfield in under 2 hours:
1) Uninstall Starfield
2) Refund Starfield
just the title of this video goes to show how un fun the game is, when you have to tell people how to have fun :D
why should the player have to put in effort and force themselves to "have fun" with a game instead of just... playing any of the thousands of other, better games to spend time on.
Uninstall and go touch grass.
Starfields is just a bland game people keep claiming “mods will fix it”
If there’s a ‘How to’, there’s a problem.
Stay extra mad, you gayststion shillbot
how to have fun with starfield?
don't play it for ten years
Game is kind ok broken ish. Trying to fix at least some other people gamplays by BUILDING Awsome ships like the GoldStar and the IRON STAR 10 and War Leader X and the Scorpion and a ton of other Ship design options for all. Hope that that made somebodys day. Good Staff 😍🦾. Greath video. Good day to you. Cya
