Definitely going to need a "Which bike was best during the nationals" video at the end of this adventure. Probably way to many factors to get a solid comparison (Track, performance, the $10K suspension, etc), but maybe make it a "what bike was most fun". Love these videos. Looks like pure enjoyment, and that's what the sport is all about
This was an awesome quote, "it definitely helped, but it didn't bump me into the top 20." Goes to show it's more about the rider than the equipment, even at the highest level. Thanks for doing these experiments, they're fun to watch!
To an extent but 90% of the kits on factory bikes are not obtainable star runs lsf forks they’ve never and will never be available too purchase pro circuit runs an air hybrid fork Honda runs a special showa fork it’s a different cartridge and occasionally a 1 off bfrc shock same with kawi and they have a lot of different options for everything chassis spec wise realistically just putting suspension on will help but not make or break it if josh came out and legit tested 4-5 different parts a day and gave me 45k to build a factory bike yes he’d be well above p-15 is he gonna win probably not I’ve been at the track on stock bikes and been faster by a margin then him but I’m also and active racer nevertheless always enjoy looking at cool parts
Great job! Respectable results. It would be GREAT if MXA could create some back-to-back video comparisons of the top riders doing a section, followed by those further back in the pack. Some quick observations from this video is the top riders (Sexton, Dungey, Tomac) look further ahead, are on the balls of their feet more, and lean back far more. Look at the clip at 08:47 for a comparison of Sexton/Tomac vs Josh. And again at 10:42 for Dungey vs Josh. I find these comparisons super helpful.
way to go Josh. you were going fast. enjoyed watching. thanks to Mitch for not letting you get killed! the A kit must have worked . that track was crazy rough
I enjoyed this, think it was my idea. I would have preferred - as a test of the bike as a competent racer for a privateer - that $10K suspension wasn’t used but i understand the lure of that when the opportunity is angled in front of you. Of course if you were to give your feedback off the $10K suspension over the stock revealed that could be useful info for a privateer. Rock on Josh!
How much does A-kit cost to service? Obviously the cost to get it on the bike is $10K, but after 10, 20 hours you have to get it reserviced. I would hope and think it isn't as expensive as the cost to get it, but just curious
Very cool video. Shows just how tough motocross really is. I would like to see a back to back comparison of stock suspension vs the factory level stuff and see if it helps with actual lap times and physical exertion.
Yes, motocross is tough. Pro-level motocross is beyond most folk's imagination. Top 10? Yeah. There's no way to explain how fast and how tough and hard it is. You either know, or you do not know.
Kool video!! I'm still riding my 2019 kx450 with stiffer fork springs and more oil and does good but I'm bout to get it revalved obviously not at pro level tho
Looks like you could use some hip, core, and leg strength. Your legs seem to be flopping all over rather than squeezing. All in all I hope too see you race more Nationals it’s all for fun
That’s what appeals to me the most about DIRTBIKING. Guys with bone stock bikes can still stand a chance against full mod bikes. It’s 90%rider 10%bike imo.
You might not have finished any better, but I have to believe mentally it helps....plus there is a safety factor having better suspension, and how much energy did you save?
You didn't suck. Hey, your brother is a top factory racer, I only imagine you pic his brain, no? He MUST have riding, nutrition and fitness tips for you, no? Thanks for your excellent content!
It's interesting you mentioning all the human variables that go into the whole program, if your up late the evening before prepping and organizing your not at your absolute best the next day and when the gates about to drop you can't say "I need an hour to chill and eat a banana"
you need to be able to run 6 minute miles for 35 minutes or so. Or be able to run your heart at 170bpm for 35 minutes. that sort of thing. plus calisthenics etc
It's funny how $10k suspension is a big deal in motocross but that same money only gets you a couple of nuts and bolts in most car racing. Even with the high cost of 4 strokes and maintenance, dirt bikes are still the biggest thrill per dollar there is.
I've learned through Enzo (Ross and crew) that quality triples, effective coatings, valving, damping, evacuated free pistons...all that advances the bike to a more predictable and dependable feel. They sell suspensions...not championship. But...They build expert developed and advanced suspensions...and that advantage builds championships. Cheers
Someone is enjoying the music here? I don't! As H20MXRacer wrote below, everyone who qualified is fast. No matter what! Good job! Give us some quality informations we used to get from you guys. Laptimes? How much money spent? Which bike you take next time? Like to see MXA guys out there testing!
It would be a great experiment if you used a trainer, food specialist and if you get better results instead of cubic dollars of blaming the bike for poor results.
10K is nothing. LOL I spent that much as a vet pro 10 years ago, and it was BARELY enough to keep me in the game. At the top, you've got to have the best money can buy. And 10K is not the best. It's just OK.
You cannot ride motocross at 7'. LOL It cannot be done on a modern frame. Simply cannot be done. Too top heavy. Center of gravity is SO SO far off. No, sorry - that will never work. I admire you for trying, broski. But this will never be your sport. Like the song says, sometimes love is just not enough.
How in the hell is he fitting in TLD gear. I am 6'9" and the new man-bun, Tight EURO Jean TLD style does not fit....the older TLD was great. Also for boot manufactures.....can you please start making your boots overall design reflect the size. A size 14-15 upper should not be the same height as a size 9-10. Common sense as the foot size goes up so does the riders height and the length of the shin bone. 13-15 should have an additional 2"-3" add on so the top of the boot covers your shin and you knee braces/pads fit in the top of the boot...you can see it when the step back from him....these are personal pet peevez!!!!!

Great job explaining atleast your situation. Anyone that can just qualify for a pro national is a badass.
Thank you!
Well done Josh/MXA 👊 👍😉. Enjoying these immensely fellas .. OLD G 😃
Thanks for coverage of hangtown Mx you rode well Josh cheers class Motocross action magazine 👍👍💯🇬🇧❤️

When are you guys gonna review the new Tm 125 2022
Heck of a job 👏 #1 motocross action 🎬 👏

Thanks Rick!
These are great! Thank you so much for doing these races and posting about them.
Awesome job Josh!!!
Your doing an Excellent job at MXA thank you👍👍👍
Lol,your lucky the hangtown race was last weekend. Last i saw, forecast was 105° for the coming weekend. Glad Cairoli didnt have to deal with that!
awesome effort, thank you for trying and reporting on that!
Josh have you seen my drone footage from hangtown 250 moto 2?
This is your Oakland sx ticket winner also
Sick that you still get out there and race!
Are those the older style air forks from Showa?
These are Showa spring forks from Pro Circuit
I really enjoyed this, thank you! And plenty kudos!

Is that rear kit shock a BFRC?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : (
And so true on the suspension
Been there started Adelanto gp last year tired and dead. Got 3rd in over 40 b class was only 4 riders? May have done better with proper rest
Truth from a moto journalist.
I enjoyed this video, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching!
Lakewood?
Or
Done?

What would MXA be today without J.Moisman doing the UA-cam stuff ? Jody should give him a raise right now.
Josh, what makes Pro Circuit clamps better then stock, they don’t look much different that a stock clamp?
Offset? * shrug *
Sr with 20k of upgrades?
This was dope!
Awesome content!! 👌

Agreed!
Not too shabby #171, being the 30th fastest guy on God’s green planet 🌎! Try a RM for your next national, that would be cool to see. 🇨🇦🇺🇸

Ehh I don’t think p. 25 is standing a chance against full mod
@@livefastdiequick I’m very well versed in DIRTBIKING, but I’m unsure what is a p25?
@@chadrides914 25th place
@@chadrides914 you’re better than that Chad
@@livefastdiequick he specifically says in this video if he was on Andersons bike his results likely wouldn’t have been any better; 13:00

Awesome thanks
Well done dude
Pretty consistent finishes. Could it be the mildly tuned KTM is as good as the Kawasaki with $10k invested?
Ktm needs that 10k suspension more than any other bike.
please do a 85cc shoot out
That was awesome.
Awesome video man, subscribe immediately ! Wish you a lot of success !! Regards from Sweden
Are you going to do anymore racing and are you going to be better prepared
I'm definitely doing the last round of the series and hopefully racing Washougal too! And yes, game plan is always to be more prepared😆👍🏼
How much ?
You didn't suck. Hey, your brother is a top factory racer, I only imagine you pic his brain, no? He MUST have riding, nutrition and fitness tips for you, no? Thanks for your excellent content!

Good job stay strong from larry the bay area co co county
It might not make ya finish faster but it could help ya keep it on 2 wheels. :)
And there's lots of value to that! Main goal is always to go home safe and sound. Love to race another day
More time on the gas, less on the brakes

It’s a big deal because $10,000 is what a brand new bike costs, the suspension is worth as much as the entire bike!
little brother is gonna get a overall soon

Food makes more of a difference than 10K suspension. Got it!
Apparently donuts are what you want
What would happen if one of the top guys ate a big fat burrito minutes before the sight lap? That's a test session for someone!
Hustle 😁 called 😁 💪 👌 💯 go 🚶♀️ 💪 👌 👏 🙌 God's
Watching you compared to the top riders you keep your elbows to low!.wrist elbow and shoulder should all be in alignment.
It would be a great experiment if you used a trainer, food specialist and if you get better results instead of cubic dollars of blaming the bike for poor results.
Pretty sure AJ just did this, lol.
This kit is why your brother fell in moto 2
$10,000 for suspension on a moto bike is a complete rip off...you can get top of the line off road suspension for full sized vehicles for less!
