Firstly, I just want to say that I'm so glad I came across your channel. Love how clear and detailed your reviews are, and also the fact that you are so engaging with your viewers in the comments. So kudos to you! I've also noticed that you emphasise a lot on the Starvis2 sensor, which tells me that its probably a must have feature for any1 looking for a dashcam. Secondly, this comparison video actually surprised me about the importance of a 4k video capture. I've watched quite a few reviews on dashcams in general, but this video comparing the two dashcams from the same brand with the same sensor actually highlighted the difference for me, which I was completely oblivious to. So thank you for that! Finally, I wanted to ask you if the Wolfbox G900 (4k + 2k) also has a Starvis2 sensor? Coz I couldn't find any mention of it on their official website. And also how does it compare to the 70mai S500, since its got a higher res. And would 70mai be launching a 4k version of the S500? And would you be considering a comparison video between the two? Wishing you good luck and huge success. Cheers!
Hello. Thank you for your kind words. Glad to my videos have been helpful to you. Coming to your query about Wolfbox G900, it doesn't have the latest Starvis2 sensor, but rather the older gen Starvis sensor. I presume it must be IMX678 sensor, same as used in 70mai A800s or DDPAI Z50. I don't think 70mai will launch the 4K version of S500 in the near future, but they do have the 70mai A810 which is 4K+Starvis2. But if it's a mirror dashcam which you require specifically, I haven't come across any which has 4K + Starvis2. Wolfbox hasn't sent their dashcams yet for review. I will make review videos as soon as they send it to me.
I went with the A810, Gps, speed recording Stamp are great evidence tools when being stopped by law enforcement making false claims. The 70mai A810 does have a Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 for 4k recording? As well as it is USB C for front camera and not Micro USB like the S500. I hope the next touch screen Mirror camera comes with USB C, Accepts 256gb SD card and GPS as well as maybe a 3rd camera built into the Mirror , that would be awesome. Thanks again for this Comparison Video. Great work.
After watching your reviews of many cameras I've bought Nexdigitron neo dash cam (2849rs) as my car stays park for almost 2-3 months. My mostly running is of highway trips (1000kms in 2-3months) and I don't want to spend muchh. I can say the video quality is just amazing. I can read number plates of cars at a max distance of 12-15feets. Don't know how important number plate reading is, but for me it's doing it's job very nicely providing proof of the incidents. At the price of 2849 it's ust have accessory for every car. Do try nexdigitron neo once again without judging number plate readability. As this cheapest dash cam is not famous on UA-cam so I want you to highlight it for people like us who don't want to spend muchh.
Can I use the S500 without the back camera? Is like the same price with A119 mini 2 with some accessories. Shall I pick S500 over A119 mini 2 considering that they are both with 3k, starvis and super capacitor? Is there a best choice for single, 4k, starvis and capacitor?
Good question. In case you only want the front only recording, yes you can use the S500 without connecting the rear camera. But, consider this, the S500 is a mirror dashcam, so as I have shown in the video, it catches all dust/dirt on the windshield and that causes a blurry masked out video(in case you don't keep your windshield clean, super consistently). in case of A119 Mini2, it's a traditional mount on the windshield which removes this problem. Also, the Mini 2 is ,ike the name suggests, is very small and easily concealed, which in turn leads to a clear view of the windshield while driving without obstruction. Go with S500 only if, 1. You require a wide display screen. 2. An immediate access touchscreen. 3. May want a rear camera attached in the future. Hope this clears your doubt.
Awesome job. Could you please help me in deciding which one to go with? NEXDIGITRON vs 70mai 500s. I just want a dashcam which can last longer and gives decent video footage.
Hello mate, what's your recommendation for the best rearview mirror dashcam? I'm considering the 70mai S500, but do you have any other suggestions? I'm also thinking about the DDPAI Mola E3 until the S500 arrived yesterday😄
As of today, the S500 is the only dashcam which has the Starvis2 sensor. It's 2024, and it doesn't make sense to go with the older Starvis sensors unless you are really tight on budget. So yes, S500 is the one to go for as of today.
Hello, I'm using a "SanDisk Extreme 256GB microSDXC UHS-I, 190MB/s Read, 130MB/s Write Memory Card" in my 70mai A810 and noticed some missing footage. it's not recording continuously while driving. Is it because of a memory card or some manufacturing defect?
Can i use the aftermarket android display i have in my car to connect with it for parking help whenever i hit reverse gear ? I mean i can think of installing the app and turning to live view but i dont know wt do you think ? I appreciate everything it has to offer i but i wouldve really appreciated if they had put the super capacitor and the parking view assistant. Will find out as it deliveres. Would appreciate if anyone can drop light to query.
You can't connect it to your Android system. But yes, you probably can install the app and get live view on the display. One thing to note is that the video feed may not be instantaneous. There will be a lag of 1-2seconds.
I placed an order and then canceled it after I realized this S500 has no GPS as the A810 does and only accepts maximum of 128g which is plenty but the A810 accepts 256gb Micro SD Card. I hoping they come out with a newer model, that will have a 3 cameras total, with one camera inside the Mirror , GPS and Accepts 256gb. Until then I will stick with the A810 4k Dual Chanel.
There is no 'guarantee' with any electronic devices. All companies provide 'warranty'. All devices including dashcams have a standard 1 year warranty period.
Hi, Thanks a lot for this video. My requirement is to even have parking monitor without risk of draining my car battery, which one do you think is better between S500 and A810?
S500 does not have a GPS, which is a bummer! We do not have speed and location data in the video. These are important to prove our innocence when there is an incidence.
@@traveltechyoutube Plz help to understand why S500 rear cam can't be installed inside the car. It's expensive thing.. Why smone will insiatll outside the trunk?

If you need reverse assist view, go with S500. Otherwise A510 is a better choice

Agreed. For the price, it does a decent job. And for someone who doesn't want to invest much, its the ideal choice.
